Beautiful site and fantastic wardens

A lovely site with great wardens, we had a super pitch and had forgotten our water hose, the warden kindly lent us an aquaroll and saved the day, Lovely pitches, great facilities and just an all round super area. Please members, pay attention to the arrival and departure rules though, they are there for a very good reason but some people always try to push the boundaries. Also one of two cars were not sticking to the 5mph speed limit which is just inconsiderate. This however is not at the fault of the site or wardens and we will definitely return time and time again to Chatsworth. A jewel in the CC club crown, or should I say C and M C crown!

Brilliant wardens, thank you

We don’t leave many reviews but feel his trip deserves one. Chatsworth is one of those sites that’s fully booked at weekends months ahead but with forward planning we managed to get 3wks here. We overlapped half term which we would probably avoid in the future but it did give us the opportunity to see the site function at full capacity. The rating for peace and quiet and cleanliness is marked on a very busy half term otherwise would be higher. My main reason to leave a review is the marvellous wardens on this site and I’m going to single out Keith Evans in particular, he is without doubt one of the most cheerful and proactive wardens we’ve met. He was often to be seen walking the site (if not on other duties) just checking all was ok and offering help to new arrivals where needed. When I couldn’t get either tumble drier to work he offered to dry my laundry in the office drier, to offer to dry our ‘smalls’ even clean ones was above and beyond a wardens duty. As it turned out he sussed out the reject buttons on the new slot machines were jammed in so didn’t need to take him up on the offer but thanks Keith I really appreciated the offer (he’d gone on a course so didn’t see him when we left to thank him). I’d like to thank all the wardens whether on site or in the office for doing a grand job with a smile during a very busy half term and a special thank you to the wardens who had to ‘muck out’ the ladies every day, it’s been said before but please ladies play fair the wardens aren’t there to clean that sort of thing up after you it’s disgusting and unfair!

Brilliant site

Stayed for 4 nights last week. Brilliant welcome from the wardens on a wet snowy day. Facilities clean and hot, loads of hot water. Didn't use the magic gate but will next time. Don't be that person who arrives before 1. There is a good reason for this and it's due to a narrow lane. Saw many outfits abondoned around midday obviously waiting. Simply aim to arrive at 1330 and if traffic is good and you arrive half hour early you'll still be able to sail in. Definitely going back to this site soon!

Wonderful relaxing place.

Just spent 7 peaceful nights at Chatsworth and enjoyed everything about the park from the fully serviced super pitch to the dog walk and having access to chatsworth house estate grounds through a locked gate which reception supple a key. top class facilities which were spotless and i would recommend taking plenty of duck feed because there were plenty on site. There is a local spar store and post office nearby which stocks plenty of tasty treats. This site is ideal for dog lovers with plenty of walks but I couldn't take advantage of this because I have a lazy bulldog who is so stubborn and refused to walk anywhere so my next visit I will be bringing a pet stroller.

Wonderful

We arrived to a very warm welcome and found the site was much better than we'd remembered. It was quiet, relaxing, friendly and the facilities were absolutely spotless. Just a shame that some caravanners don't clean up after themselves in the showers which isn't the fault of the wardens. There were some lovely walks from the site without having to use your car and it isn't far to get to Bakewell or Castleton from here.

Great walking

A lovely site with the usual high standards of the caravan club , warm shower / toilet blocks and centrally located . Our visit was February and the dog walk and entrance to the park were very muddy indeed , lots of towels etc were needed before we could allow our spaniel anywhere near the caravan . We enjoyed visits to Buxton , chatsworth park , and Bakewell on market day , all were thoroughly enjoyed . We only wish our finances would allow us to visit this site during the summer months , but being pensioners we find the minimum £30 plus a night very prohibitive . A lovely site overall.

Fantastic Site, Fantastic Wardens

We stayed here weekending 3rd February 2017 for 3 nights. From arrival to leaving, we loved every minute. In our view, one of the best sites. Clean, well set out, handy for the Chatsworth estate & local walks. The assistant wardens, Keith & Tracy, were very chatty, attentive, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended. We will be back! Dave & Anita Warren

Lovely site but muddy!

First visit to this site. Entry is single track but there are a few passing places for cars. Understandable why no caravans are allowed to arrive before 1pm, as you simply wouldn't be able to pass anything oncoming. The site is really well set out but we found it very muddy, especially as we had two small dogs. However, we had a bucket, towels and a cloth and plenty warm water! We will be back again later this year when hopefully it will be refurbished and not as muddy.

first weekend away of 2017

First visit to this site as normally we would go to Castleton - Arrived around 3.30pm - had the choice of a few large spots, all hard standing. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The shower block was very clean and looked to have been built recently. The grounds of the site are enclosed in a walled garden with a lockable gate entering straight onto the Chatsworth Estate - ( turning right leads up to the house/gardens and beyond to the garden centre - boasting a lovely cafe and gift shop - 5 mile round trip). (Left leads to baslow village - quaint shops and a couple of pubs - 1 mile). We were very happy with our stay and will return to take in the lovely countryside and bring along our little dog, as this is dog friendly park and the nearby pubs are too.

Holiday on the doorstep

A lovely site, situated in a well sheltered walled garden, with private foot access directly into Chatsworth Park. A great welcome from the efficient and friendly staff who kept the small queue -which was already forming at ten past one- moving and quickly had us on the pitch of our choice. Everything is well laid out and maintained to the highest standards, with plenty of space between pitches. The site is little more than a 10 minute walk from Catsworth House and 15-20 mins from the village of Baslow, we enjoyed a 6 mile walk direct from the site, which afforded beautiful views of the estate and surrounding country. Everything you could want for a weekend or longer. Five stars! We could see why the club insist on there being no entries before 1300, the access lane is really not suitable for oncoming vehicles to pass each other and flaunting the rule is really inconsiderate.
