excellent site

This is in a fabulous location, great facility's and staff.Im sure everything has been said about this site however ,If you have a Motorhome and visiting Bakewell use the cattle market car park and drive round past the actual market where there are dedicated motorhome places a very easy park for large motorhomes,For Buxton there is a motorhome and lorry park by the roundabout as you enter the town.this is a great place to stay and tour Derbyshire

Lovely Weekend

A beautiful site in a lovely location. It is a walkers and dog paradise. Numerous walks across the estate straight from the campsite. No need to use the car at all . Friendly wardens.

Great fr a winter break

The Chatsworth site is an excellent location for a winter break. It has direct access to Chatsworth park which provides gentle walking and from Baslow (20 minutes walking from the site) you have access to the the moors for those who want something a bit more challenging.

A great all year site!

We visit Chatsworth site every January - it's a lovely time of year to experience the wonderful grounds of Chatworth with so few visitors around. The site and staff are superb - facilities are excellent (we'd recommend the super pitches) and the welcome is warm and friendly. There's plenty to do nearby with Chatsworth, the Farm Shop and Bakewell all in close proximity. Thornbridge Brewery is to be recommended for beer lovers out there!

New Year 2018

Stayed at the Chatsworth site for the 3rd time between xmas and just after the New Year. Greeted by very friendly wardens on the restricted lane approaching the site. Do not arrive before 1 pm- you have been advised and you won't get on before then. This is due to the narrow lane access and NOT due to the wardens. There is a small hump backed bridge on approach to entrance which is deceptively steep on one side but okay at slow speed (should do so anyway). Site had 6 pitches left to choose from (shows how popular the site is) and we had one nr toilet block. No problems with pitch or TV reception. Site is well maintained and toilet facilities always clean and warm, one of the delights of this site. My only gripe is that the club in general needs to sort out its recycling facilities. They are often in poorly lit areas, as is this one, and no good when I take the waste/wine bottles before retiring for the night. No particular provision for wine bottles- a crate or designated glass bin would be good. Having said that, the refuse area was well maintained and clean. Shower curtains are washed and ironed weekly and its clear to see how much pride and effort the wardens take in maintaining this site. Guests were invited to nibbles and drinks on Sat 29th and we were sorry we had made alternative plans, otherwise we would have popped in to say hello. Its a shame to see that newspapers can't be ordered anymore due to supplier retirement, its quite a walk or a drive off site to the nearest convenience shop in Baslow (quite a good one though). Generally, be prepared to walk to get anywhere but Chatsworth is a 'must' and can be accessed through the back 'door' of the site. Bakewell, Chesterfield and Sheffield plus the rest of the Peak District accessible by bus or car. A choice of restaurants are available in nearby Baslow and Rowsley. We also went to the Chatsworth Farm Shop- excellent food but expensive so remember to use your time restricted club discount. Many thanks to the team for enabling a very relaxed and peaceful short break on a pleasant site.

Second visit to Chatswoth

Had a good few days at Chatsworth, viewed the house at Christmas 2018.This is well worth the time, although a little expensive. The site is well run by the stewards, the dog walk is very good. Ideal position for access to the house etc. also for touring around the beautiful peak District. The only negative is the access road, the road is a single track with passing places,I would advise not to come all at once at 1.00 pm . Although the queue does move it takes a few minutes to clear .I really enjoyed the site and the area so we will be back again later this year.

Exceptionally good holiday

We regularly come to this beautiful site. We have just had one of the best weeks ever and extended the stay by two days. The welcome to the site was brilliant and the staff lived up to all our expectations and are one of the best teams we deal with. The park and facilities are really well maintained. Being close to Chatsworth Park is amazing and being birdwatching and nature lovers we have everything we need here. We know that the team here are really approachable and helpful. We wish all the team well for Christmas and the New Year and look forward to seeing you all on at least four booked occasions next year. More than happy with the team and site. Kind regards. Needs attention

We visit this site annually and usually give it 5 stars but on this occasion we felt standards had fallen. We arrived on Thursday and for the first time ever we felt the welcome was far below standard. It could have been a recorded message from a robot on the other side of the desk, it would have had more personality. If you meet this lady warden don't dare ask a question! You won't get a helpful answer and you soon realise you shouldn't ask again! As we were setting up we tethered the dog at the back of the pitch and Mr Jobsworth the warden knocked on the van door asking us to move it as the tether was allowing him to 'stray' onto the next (vacant) pitch. The site was muddy! It was a wet weekend to be fair, but the warden seemed to be clearing leaves as a priority rather than draining off standing water. A few shovels of gravel or similar added to the path from the middle of site to the back along the wall side would have improved things so much. Everyone commented on getting wet feet!!!. If you go on site in the darkness make sure you have a strong torch as the lighting is poor. Chatsworth is a lovely site and deserves better. As we left on the Sunday morning at 9:30 we had difficulty with vehicles at the sports club (entrance to site). They were parked all over the kerbs and filled the passing place near the entrance causing us to pass very carefully with only a few inches to spare. This needs to be sorted.

Great location.

Visited this site many times over the years, it’s situation in the walked garden is wonderful a small door in he wall allows access to the Chatsworth estate. Τhere is a modern facilities block which has laundry, and dishwashing area. There is also a dog wash on site, which unfortunately had a massive leak in the hose which rather than spraying from the shower head actually resulted in soaking me This pitches are in dire need of some attention, With the exception of the service pitches, the hardstsndings require some serious maintenance, the vast majority are so muddy, they need to be excaved and re gravelled. For a flagship site charging flagship prices, this is not up to standard.
