We have just returned from a four night stay at Chatsworth Park club site and have nothing but praise for the site, its cleanliness and the friendly wardens!
Its worth noting for those that like to do the arrive first must get a choice of pitches routine that as per the site notes don't arrive before 1pm as you will find a chain across the entry and a sign informing you to come back after 1pm. There is nowhere to park and wait on the approach road - incidentally you should also note that the directory lists the correct postcode for satnav users - otherwise you may find yourself pitching up on the front lawn of the house.....
You may find that you are stopped on the approach road by one of the wardens if its a busy arrival day so just go with it they are there to help.
It was our first time using one of the clubs fully serviced pitches - so that's drinking water, grey water drains a TV hook up and chemical toilet disposal all on pitch. These are hardstanding too - block paving - next to a gravelled area for the awning to go on. All very level as you would expect.
On arrival you are also given a key to the 'secret' gate which lets you through the old walled garden wall and into Chatsworth's grounds which you're free to wander. We went through and were greeted with a herd of deer! Turn right here for the house, left for the path to the village. Its £26 per adult for full admission and having our dog we didn't bother BUT you must visit the Chatsworth farm shop (directions on site info) it is truly amazing.
Toilet facilities were as you would expect from a club site - spotless. Gents is closed 10am - 11am and ladies 11am - noon. Loads of showers -- plenty of hot water never had to wait.
All in all its a magnificent site and we will be back to stay again.
A lovely site in a great location
This is a lovely site in the heart of the Chatsworth Estate parkland. A fifteen minute walk takes you to the house, with its excellent cafe and shop, or to the Village of Baslow with excellent views along the way. The 'must visit' estate village of Edensor is also close by.
The site is well laid out, feeling spacious yet private, and the facilities are excellent. The pitches are good, though those in the shade are, understandably, a little damp, mossy and twig covered. Having said that, we were there in March, so this will be less of an issue as the season progresses.
The wardens were great: really friendly and helpful.
All in all, a fabulous site - highly recommended!
Helpful Staff
Written to thank the staff members. As we have found on Club sites, friendly, approachable and helpful. Specific thanks to one gentleman (should have got name) who assisted this numpty with an EHU issue. Had no power to sockets after hooking up. Nothing showing on my plug tester. Another gentleman visitor checked my hook up connection to no avail. I went to Reception and saw a gentleman staff member there who said he would bring along a tester. All tested fine with power going into the motor home and so guess what - the main fuse trip switch had been left 'off' after a recent dealer visit!
BP back to normal. Accepted the stare from my wife with good grace.
Enjoyed 4 very pleasant nights there.
Delightful
Lovely site - small but really well laid out so that plenty of pitches can fit.
The facilities were great.
The location is fantastic - once you have arrived - the track from the road is long and a bit windy.

A great place for walkers
First time at the Chatsworth site and we'll be back!
The site wardens were lovely and friendly and the site was well maintained. Lots of ducks and pheasant wandering around but they didn't see to make any mess.
The site is set inside tall walls with a gate through to the Chatsworth estate.
We are keen walkers so printed off some routes of the area before we went from the Peak District website.
There are a couple of pubs in walking distance and we went in the Rowleys village pub at Baslow. Very friendly pub and dogs are allowed inside.
first time visitor
bought new caravan from robinsons at chesterfield(who are a pleasure to deal with by the way 10/10 customer service) so decided to try out our new outfit here.arrived on site around 7pm single track but no bother driving up it.stayed for 3 nights on serviced pitch everything about this site from location facilities and especially the staff are first class will defo be coming back here in the summer when hopefully it wont be raining.
* must mention the lowlife who decided to steal some shower caddys from the gents WC as well as a thief you must be brain damaged as well, the cost of replacing the items will come out of the membership fees that all of us and you have paid so work that one out*
A nice site, very well presented and looked after
We booked a two day stay on our way home from Leeds, the entrance/exit is not great as it is almost single track and you are put under pressure to enter (after 1300) and leave (before 1200 this isn't the times for entering to set up simply to drive out for the day) at restrictive times (not the fault of the club but not helped by the Chatsworth estate, It feels as though the site is a huge concession by the estate).
Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times on the estate which is very restrictive when you have four dogs.
The site is quite compact but beautifully presented and maintained in a lovely location but has only one facilities block for a busy site which is frequently fully booked up.
There are a good deal of ducks and other birds (including a tame pheasant) which we were feeding by hand, we'd heard about the rooks but although they were a little noisy it was a problem.
We had to cut our stay short by a day and went to check out, Debs the lady on the desk asked me if everything was okay which is really nice (sorry I was a little distance as I was thinking about what was happening at home which was why we had to go home, family illness). A very brief stay but it looks like a lovely place to stay.

Great site great location
We visited for a week in February 2019. Really pleased with the site. We had a pleasant welcome and the site warden had done everything before our visit to accommodate the dates we wanted, thank you.
The entrance into Chatsworth park from the site is a gem.
The walk to Chatsworth house and into Baslow is an easy one.
Two great pubs in the village. The Devonshire Arms, little pricey but the food was excellent and the service was very friendly and felt personal.
The wheatsheaf was pleasant and the food was typical pub grub from a chain. Very reasonable and great beer garden.
Have booked again for later in the year.

Excellent Site - spoilt by members
Chatsworth site is a great site in a beautiful location. We have stayed here before and been pleased with it. The staff are welcoming and friendly and work hard to maintain it. However, on this occasion our stay was marred by finding toilets left dirty by members. There are toilet brushes in every cubicle, so why do members think they can leave them in a state which I personally would not use after them. Also we encountered dog faeces on the roadway - left by thoughtless members. There were children on the site on bikes, scooters etc - I for one wouldn't have liked to clean the mess of my children's toys or indeed my shoes. We are members of a really well run club , surely we have a duty to help keep these sites as we would like to find them.
