We've previously stayed at this site when visiting the NEC - this visit was to enable us to have a long overdue visit to our families. The site is in a convenient location, just off the M42. There is some road noise during the day but much quieter at night and we slept well. The facilities were kept very clean and good Covid precautions in place. Very helpful wardens and site staff too.
Easy access off the motorway system, particularly M42. Considering how near Birmingham it is, surprisingly rural, we managed some quiet walking and cycling, in the immediate area. There is faint background traffic noise, during the day, but we are urban dwellers, and used to that. Peaceful at night. Usual CAMC standard, clean, tidy and organised, Wardens friendly, pleasant and helpful. One of the few CAMC sites we have been to where barking dogs are not a problem, so, a plus for that. Would use again.
We stayed on this site on the way back from 13 nights in Devon in September. I would have posted a review earlier but the CC website was down. So, this is late but still relevant.
We've use this site several times now - and will continue to do so. In this case it was a great stop-over from Devon back home to Yorkshire. Clean, efficient, with welcoming and friendly wardens. Pitched quickly and easily. The site responds well to stop-overs - but is also a great base for visiting the area because of its location.
Since we found this gem of a site we've recommended it to so many folk who are now enjoying it too.
We stayed for just one night en route to Wales and found the site as we had experienced it several times in the past to be very satisfactory and well up to the standards of CAMC sites.
This time we were lucky to find a pitch where we were able to stay hooked up as our outfit is quite short, we will remember this pitch number in future for night halts,
The only fly in the ointment was that the facilities block became inches deep in water at about 21-00. We are not sure if this was a blocked w,c. or a particularly messy showering member, and left a phone message on the voicemail as we were leaving early.
When the club is refurbishing blocks or building new ones, it may be worth considering seperate access doors to W.c.s from the rest of the block.
Booked this site as we were struggling to get a full week anywhere. What a surprise so rural and such a nice site with walks and no idea that you are so close to Birmingham. Friendly wardens will definitely be back
A lovely welcome on arrival, very friendly assistants lots of info easy to pitch.Very clean facilities ideal location for walks. Covid secure band system worked for us. Transport museum next door and becketts farm shop a 10 minute walk away both worth a visit.would recommend a stay.
We have just made our first visit to this site. We selected it to give us a stopover after a visit to South Wales. We really enjoyed the site. It is so convenient to the motorway network and close to local shops and amenities. Despite being so close to the motorways there was little traffic noise.
The Farm Shop and restaurant close to the site was a great find. As was a visit to the Transport Musuem next to the site. The trip to the Musuem included a bus ride around the area.
The site is very well maintained and the wardens are very welcoming and friendly.
As the site has two toilet blocks we never had to queue to use the facilities.
We will certainly return and hope to spend more time at the site on our next visit.
We stayed last year and have just returned from a couple of nights at Chapel Lane. Staff very welcoming and friendly, the site is clean and well maintained. The Toilet/Shower Block was very clean and had no hesitation in using.
Site is located next to the Wythall Bus Museum, which is a must-see - excellent museum.
Site location is great for exploring the area, and there are a number of walks around the site.
