A lovely site

We stayed at Chapel Lane last week end and what a pleasure not to be up to our knees in mud with the hardcore pitches. We had come from Wales! Overall the site was well up with standards we expect from the Club, but I found the toilet blocks were not heated sufficiently on the evenings when I used them for a shower. But this will not deter us fro visiting again later in the year.

Surprisingly rural retreat

We often stay here, when visiting the NEC exhibition centre, or when travelling South after a trip to Scotland or the Lake District. Although this is a large site, it is very quiet, and the pitches are spacious. We were delighted to discover on our recent trip (6th to 9th April) that there are now serviced pitches! Excellent news for us, as we are both now in our seventies and appreciate not having to roll out the barrel! The staff, as ever, were pleasant and helpful. As we have a big twin axle van we don't use the site showers and loos, but I'm sure they are maintained to the same high standard as the site overall. Our only small gripe is that the Club charges for WiFi access. Many CLs don't charge at all, and in this day and age I'm sure that many campers want to be in touch with their emails etc.

Poor tarmac hardstanding

I stayed at Chapel Lane twice on the last two weeks and received a warm and helpful welcome on each occasion. I have rated "Overall" and "Facilities" 4 out of five because of the poor quality of the tarmac hardstanding on Pitch 55 and adjoining. The original workmanship, for which the Club no doubt paid good money, is poor resulting in no run-off and puddles of up to a centimetre deep. The work should never have been signed off in the first place. It seems that either the contractors specification was poorly set out or the work was not properly inspected by CMC staff. I would be interested to hear comments from the newly appointed Manager of Sites. I trust that the Club will take this a helpful feedback. The standard of Club sites is normally impeccable, consequently, this example of poor quality is the exception, which I feel sure the Club will wish to avoid in future. Chapel Lane Weekend

The site office staff were very welcoming and efficiently booked us in, pitches were tidy and easily located. Toilet blocks are very clean, a little road noise but not intrusive and a great site to see a large variety of caravans and motor homes. There is a simple swipe card barrier control. Thank you Chapel Lane.

Great location

Had a one night stay at Chapel Lane last Friday night while visiting a photographic society in Birmingham. A well laid out site with loads of room for all including some very large American sized vans that were pitched up. Good hard standing so no getting bogged down. The staff were very friendly and helpful keeping the site and toilet block in first class condition. Did not have time for a longer stay but will use again.
