Just stayed here for 3 nights as a stop off on our way to Lincolnshire show ground for the motor show. The site was lovely and well maintained. Shops and pubs just a 10 minute walk . Plenty of places to walk the dogs and most the pubs are dog friendly.weather was good too. Really enjoyed the stay.will go back .
Pubs with walking distance! now thats rare with CC Sites
Castleton is know for the beauty of the surrounding area and attracts Walkers and Mountain bikers galore. This site is not only perfect CC site with spotlessly clean facilities and attentive staff but is walking distance for the village. Castleton has 5 Pubs plenty of cafes and coffee shops not mention a bakery and countless gift shops. I've lost count of how many times we have visited the village but what id do know is that the CC site is the perfect place to stay.
Fantastic weekend
We yet again had a brilliant weekend at the dream of a site it's well positioned for both the hills and walk and for the picturesque village of castleton.
The wardens are brilliant and great to see you again it seems a long time since last year when we came across them in Norfolk at Cromer.
See you again soon we hope.
Great location
We received a wonderful warm welcome on a beautiful site with lots of colourful flowers by the entrance and office. The site is in a great location for walking into the hills and visiting the caverns. Only half a mile down the road there are many bars and places to eat. We had a lovely weekend during the middle of September.
lovely stay
I stayed for three nights in early September and both myself/dog had a great time. Old Nags Head made us feel welcome and can be recommended. The wardens were welcoming and helpful, I had an excuse to pop in when going to the dog walk to buy cakes and fresh bread, nice touch! We did plenty of walks and I too was impressed by the flower display. Praise to the wardens who work hard and were very pleasant. Look forward to another stay. Thanks.
Fantastic location
Castleton is a fabulous location with lots or walks, cycling, outdoor activities and pubs nearby.
The pitches, layout and wardens are up to the usual high standard for the Caravan Club but the site is let down by the facilities.
The WIFI was incredibly slow - We pretty much gave up on it and tried to watch telly instead.
Unfortunately, the TV signal wasn't particularly good, so we decided best bet would be to walk to one of the very many local pubs.
Sadly when we went to get showered, we found the water pressure was incredibly low
All the above said, we do like the site but I think we’d probably try one of the other sites in the Peak District before we go back again
Just Right!!!
Only had van for just over a month. Been here twice, and will be visiting again. Great facilities and immaculately clean. Usual CC standards I gather. However, what really makes a difference to us is people. Our experience with site wardens was superb. Friendly, helpful and made us feel very welcome. Thank you Margaret, Alan and team.
CASTLETON STAY
Great site if you are a walker with easy access to Castleton. Flowers at the entrance beautiful. A little scary walking to Castleton along the very narrow public footpath near the site - if you are taking kids/dogs then we would suggest you keep an eye on them. Our pitch was behind the toilet block and we could her the doors slamming inside the block - particularly annoying in the middle of the night. Overall the site is very welcoming and good and we will stay again - but away from the toilet block.

Another great site
Been a number of times to Castleton, always clean and very well kept. Excellent small but convenient dog walk and site close to centre of village where there are many shops, cafe and pubs. Hope close by is a lovely village with a nice walk from site across fields etc.
Many walks from site and the caverns in the area, all walkable from sight worth a visit. Give it go yo will not be disappointed.
An overnight stop
Pleasant site in a good location. Busy so we had to park up close to the road - a bit noisy. Clean dog walk amongst some trees. Lots of dog friendly pubs nearby. Pleasant walk (but steep!) to Peveril Castle. Only pitches without awning when we booked but OK for 1 night. Would come back again for a few days but only if awning pitch available.
