For us perfect

We stayed here for one stopover night only. Well maintained site, helpful pleasant staff and great location. Would definitely stay here again especially as the facilities are very clean & heated. Also good nearby pubs that welcome dogs !

Castleton Club Site

An excellent site; good clean facilities especially the drying room which is perfect following a wet days walking in the local hills, very well positioned for local walking and walking further afield, close to a bus stop and helpful staff.

Lovely site in a great location

This site is located in short walking distance from Castleton town with local facilities, pubs, food & 3 main cave areas in the centre of the magnificent Peak District. Ideal for serious walkers or rambling walkers - and of course dogs! Also fantastic for a bit of rest and peace in the most beautiful of settings. The facilities are excellent, clean and well maintained. There is a good range of information & help from the office. A real bonus is the 4G signal for at least 3 mobile operators plus a good tv reception. One of the best & easy to see why it is so popular

Can see why it's always full...

Lucky enough to get a weekend here (this weekend just gone...) - Peak district is stunning this time of year. Park was chocca and then only a 1/4 full by midday on Sunday - so it really is a weekend trap! Wardens were lovely, really helpful, couldn't have been nicer actually. Ate at the Nags Head on the Friday night - lots of other caravanners in there :) We won the quiz so that was a real nice start to the weekend. Facilities clean and well maintained, I got 4G on EE and the telly-box reception was good as well. Can absolutely see why there is a frenzy to get spaces on this site!

"Luxury Facility" ?

We recently stayed at this Club site for 3 nights. It is indeed an excellent location for walking in this beautiful area. However, we were a little disappointed at the description in the handbook "a luxury facility site" - compared with other Club sites we have visited recently, this is misleading! The facilities were ok (as expected on a Club site) but in need of some updating, particularly in the Toilet block, i.e. no towel peg and no step in the shower resulting in a very wet floor area where you need to dress. Also, no newspaper order/delivery to this site, which we have found at other locations. In addition the recycling area is not very obvious and could be better signed to encourage recycling. This review in no way criticises the Staff as they were lovely and very helpful, but the word "luxury" is misleading. This would not prevent us from staying at this site again, as we love walking.

brilliant site

Lovely location, super site, wonderful wardens.  So much to do, we walked & visited most of the eateries in the village on our 6 day visit & loved it, as did our dog.  Easy walk to castleton village & good walk to Hope along river.  Losehill & Mam Tor & beyond, wonderful walking all from the site.

Peaceful well located site

Stayed here for three nights on the midweek discount scheme, good value we thought. Site by no means full, plenty of pitch choice, they are pretty level though lots of folk using ramps, we must have a found a flat one, as ours stayed in the locker. All facilities up to CC standard. Swipe card to enter and exit through barrier. Easy walk into village and choice of four or five pubs, all of which seem excellent! Some excellent walks from the village which is also served by 3 different bus routes which stop outside the campsite.

Very enjoyable

Just stayed here for 3 nights as a stop off on our way to Lincolnshire show ground for the motor show. The site was lovely and well maintained. Shops and pubs just a 10 minute walk . Plenty of places to walk the dogs and most the pubs are dog friendly.weather was good too. Really enjoyed the stay.will go back .

Pubs with walking distance! now thats rare with CC Sites

Castleton is know for the beauty of the surrounding area and attracts Walkers and Mountain bikers galore. This site is not only perfect CC site with spotlessly clean facilities and attentive staff but is walking distance for the village. Castleton has 5 Pubs plenty of cafes and coffee shops not mention a bakery and countless gift shops. I've lost count of how many times we have visited the village but what id do know is that the CC site is the perfect place to stay.
