we found the site to be very clean and tidy. with seperate parts of the site only taking 8 or so vans it was very private and quiet, a great location for exploring cambridge
Good but not the usual height standard
A good site in a great location and our 3rd visit. The down side of this visit was the cleaning of the toilet block was not up to usual caravan club standards. It looks like there are only 2 wardens (not the usual 4) and this showed in the quick and low quality cleaning, plus some hedges etc.. We're in cut, again not the usual standard for a club site.

Nice site, but!
We were looking forward to our three nights in Cambridge, unfortunately we had to cut it to two. We had to leave a night early as the site was so roudy with a large group of families, kicking a ball around till 1245 in the morning. Cars coming into site at the early hours with engines running. The next morning, I raised my concerns with the warden and got an apology, a refund would have been a better gesture!
I will certainly be looking at taking it up with the club when I get home.
I would add the wardens were really friendly!
Excellent Access to Cambridge
This was the first time we visited this site. Access from the A11 via Lime Kiln Road is a little narrow for larger outfits so I recommend using Fulbourn Road which is much more accessible. We had a very warm welcome but the process of finding a pitch on foot is a tad frustrating if there's more than a couple of outfits waiting to book in.
That said, this is a quiet and well-run site, conveniently situated for visiting Cambridge and the surrounding area. Cherry Hinton is a 5 minute walk and offers two local pubs and a choice of local shops and takeaways. We ate at the "Robin Hood" which offers a very comprehensive menu and good value. There are bus stops in the village which offer regular and convenient access to Cambridge and, for the more energetic, Cambridge and the surrounding area is very cycle-friendly.
Excellent site for visiting Cambridge
Stayed here for 2 nights in early April. The site is clean and tidy and the wardens are friendly and helpful.Site is about 15 minutes cycle from city centre and can be reached using cycle paths avoiding busy roads.
We will be back! Highly recommended,
Good location
This site is in a good location for cycling into Cambridge. Designated cycle paths all the way.
Site well maintained and very clean but a little unusual in layout. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Good location for hospital
We have had a long stay here due to hospital treatment, site has always been clean and tidy. The site wardens Paul & Marie have been fantastic in all aspects, from start to the end with bookings etc. Both a pleasant couple we will definitely return to site for a holiday in the near future and explore more of the city, nice compact site loved the pitch we had right at the top of site, been a good stay and healing one. A huge thanks to Paul and Marie for being so helpful a credit to the club.

Ideal for Visiting Cambridge
Just returned from a 3 night stay at Cherry Hinton. Pitches, facilities and Wardens all very pleasant!!. Bus stop 5 minute walk away which takes you into the city centre. Local pubs, restaurants and mini Tesco all within 10 minute walk. This is a site that we will return to. Pitch 25 is quite sunny at this time of year (if there is any sun!!).

2nd visit
We stayed here for the 2nd time just as the new wardens were settling in. They are very friendly and willing to chat. The location of this site with its close proximity to Cambridge is ideal for anyone to explore the area. Facilities clean and fresh. The only issue with this site is the layout. For a larger unit like ours we tend to be given a pitch in the furthest away spot in the lower area of the site. Due to mobility issues that made it just about impossible for me to get to the shower etc. Taking our MH off site to visit anywhere became a non starter so basically all we could do was stay in it. I wish this site was more level and disabled access friendly.
Lovely Cambridge
It's been ten years since we were last at Cherry Hinton. Now we are motorhomers this site has the advantage of easy regular bus services into the the City Centre, the bus stops are only about 400 metres from the site. There is so much to see and do in the City. The Botanic Gardens are worth a visit and at this time of the year the "Winter Garden" might give you a few ideas for your own garden. The River Cam and the Backs make for an interesting walk but you can't always have access to all Colleges. The site is much as we remember it from previous visits. I was surprised how quiet it was given its urban location. However there is a Sports Complex next door which is floodlit so expect some noise for a short periods during the evening. Like others I was a bit confused as to why on some pitches you have to drive across to get to a hardstanding. Apparently this is not entirely within the wish of the Club but the Warden said they hoped to change that in future. Given that the site roads are spurs it is sometimes difficult to turn if you come to a dead end so perhaps think about where you want to pitch before going too far into the site! The wardens can always give you an idea of what pitches are available. Unfortunately the motorhome waste point still has heavy lift off covers on the drain. Hopefully this will be remedied when the site eventually has a refurbishment. Just a word of warning about the instructions to get to the site using the A14. This road has major ongoing roadworks so be prepared for delays, especially on weekdays.
