very Relaxing

Stayed last weekend and experienced sunshine, sleet, snow, wind and rain !! that's Buxton for you. We loved it as its brilliant for dog walking on the adjacent country park, very spacious pitches too.

Lovely Site

Always enjoy staying at this site. The wardens are very welcoming and always smiling and will stop to have a chat with you. It's perfect walking country and very dog friendly although there are grazing sheep close by so you need to keep your dog on a lead. The shop sells most things that you might run out of. It did snow last Saturday when we were there so pack your boots just in case. Lovely ride into Bakewell and Buxton. Leek is also a nice market town to visit. One of our favourite sites

peace and quiet.

We stayed here for 4 nights, Sunday to Thursday, lovely site about 25 mins of downhill walking into Buxton, which then means 30 mins back up hill, but not too bad.lovely views and walks from Solomon temple nearby. The site was probably less than half full so lovely and quiet.  Wardens were very friendly and helpful. My only gripe is the water pressure of the showers, not too good and as they are fixed heads, you have to stand very close to the pipes to get wet. They were hot enough but low pressure meant not lingering.  We will definatly go back though as enjoyed the area.

Great site

This site is only 40 minutes drive from home and a regular trip for us, ideal for a quiet  escape, short walk into Buxton and ideally  situated for many other long walks, we will continue to use this lovely site which is very clean and with  friendly team of wardens,  thankyou,  see you soon ??

exellent location

spent 8 days down at buxton this is our second visit the only thing that let this visit down was the weather. But you get what is dished out so it did not stop us enjoying the scenery or the walks went up to solomans temple and was rewarded with some glorious views well worth the effort. the town itself is exellent with plenty to see and do and the district is great you have caves.Chatworth House we found was a bit expensive £40 ish then spending money on top .Bakewell is well worth the visit so all in all good week and will return.

Buxton CC Site

We stayed for the Easter week, as we have done for the last few years. The location is excellent and the site is well laid out, clean and tidy. The Wardens are, as usual, very helpful and cheery. However on Easter Friday and Easter Saturday the electrical power tripped. This happened at 21.00hrs on both nights, apparently the electrics need updating along with the toilet block. Our Android devices wold not connect to the Wi-Fi as it would not recognise the ISP. The devices connected perfectly in Buxton. An excellent site but the electrics, toilet block and Wi-Fi need attention.

Great site

We have stayed at this site a few times now and find it well positioned for walking Buxton has some great resturants and pubs the wardens are hard working and very helpful and friendly the site is very well looked after my only criticism is that the toilet block needs updating although it is kept clean and tidy the site would also benefit from a second block

Not your average site

Unlike sites I have stayed on before, there are no scenic country views from your caravan window. Mostly you see rocks, but that doesn't mean this is not an amazing site to stay at. For walkers this is a great place to stay. Pooles Cavern, Buxton Country Park, Festival Gardens and the town of Buxton are all an enjoyable 20/25 minutes walk away through woods. You also get a great view of the caravan park from the top of the old quarry as you walk past. Will be back very soon.

Nice site

Arrived after dark which was not great . The cut De sac nature of the site and lack of lighting made it a bit difficult to fond an accessible pitch but we managed. Overall a nice area to stay in with easy access to Buxton Bakewell and Matlock. Toilet block needs updating but from earlier reviews this seems all in hand. Be a pity to loose the site in the lovely location.
