Washrooms

Everything about the site is good. Location layout etc. However the ablutions are dated especially the showers. More water leaking out of the controls, water delivery poor almost had to lean against the wall to get wet. I tried several cubical.  ??

Caravan in a Quarry

What great little site, unusual back drop, but really pretty. Good facilities, be on your own or with a group, loads of choice for pitching. Good play area for the kids. Idea for walkers, nature lovers and sightseers of the Dales. Turn right out of the site for Buxton main shopping and parkland. Turn right and you come to higher Buxton, which is another shopping area. Good footpath walks off the site. Wardens very helpful and pleasant. Give it a go you'll be pleasantly surprised like use.

Long weekend.

Buxton was a very nice place to stay, the wardens were very helpful to us as new owners. The site is well situated for walking or driving into town with lots of shops. We will definitely be returning thank you.

Good site to stay

We stayed there twice during August. A busy site but well maintained. The wardens a great and more than helpfull. Just having one toilet block is a bit difficult at times but thats just a minor thing. We will certainly stay there again.

Bank holiday weekend

Been here a couple of times. Pitches not level only one block for the whole site they are clean and well maintained shower pressure not so good.  Wardens always friendly and happy to help. Site very quite.  Plenty to do around the area. Can walk into Buxton itself and cab back only a £5. Overall a good site a few updates would be a great site.

Average

Didn't like this site that much , especially the car with the loud exhaust that kept arriving then disappearing during our weekend . One toilet block . Will try and get in at Castletown next time

Peaceful break

The site is very peaceful and quiet. It is beautifully maintained. The widens were extremely helpful and friendly. Great location for walking/cycling in the peaks or popping into Buxton. We particularly enjoyed the Monsal trail with our two children. We had a really lovely time. Thank you!

Wet and windy weekend

Arriving in pouring rain we had a two night stay over a very wet and windy weekend in August. The site is excellent. Clean and warm shower rooms with plenty of hot water. The pitches are level and tucked away in folds of the old quarry so that you don't have the sense of being on a large site but instead feel that the site is small and friendly. There is a 30 minute walk into Buxton through woodland and some really excellent views.

Good as ever

Very pleasant stay on this Derbyshire site. Alton Towers and Matlock area within 30 mins as well as stunning countryside. Very wet on site following a few days of heavy rain. Site coped well as all pitches were hard standing. No evidence of any problems with electric supply during our visit. Weather was very kind to us whilst here.

Buxton 2016

This was our third visit to this site and again we enjoyed our stay--lovely location, close to Buxton and the rest of the fabulous Peak District. It is a reasonable walk up hill to the toilet facilities from the bottom pitches but we did indeed elect to pitch ourselves at the furthest point from the facilities. The staff were all super friendly. The facilities were very clean but are beginning to look a little tired perhaps? The water pressure in the service points was very good but very low in the showers for some reason so it was not the most invigorating shower in the morning. Sadly, despite buying another block of wifi, we were unable to secure enough reception to make it work satisfactorily- indeed 3G was quicker. The staff, layout of site, views, peace, tidiness of the grounds and the Peak District scenery mean that we look forward to returning in the future. If Facilities and Cleanliness was broken down into two categories, we would rate Facilities 4 star ( due to the poor water pressure in the showers) and cleanliness 5 star!!
