Wet and windy weekend

Arriving in pouring rain we had a two night stay over a very wet and windy weekend in August. The site is excellent. Clean and warm shower rooms with plenty of hot water. The pitches are level and tucked away in folds of the old quarry so that you don't have the sense of being on a large site but instead feel that the site is small and friendly. There is a 30 minute walk into Buxton through woodland and some really excellent views.

Good as ever

Very pleasant stay on this Derbyshire site. Alton Towers and Matlock area within 30 mins as well as stunning countryside. Very wet on site following a few days of heavy rain. Site coped well as all pitches were hard standing. No evidence of any problems with electric supply during our visit. Weather was very kind to us whilst here.

Buxton 2016

This was our third visit to this site and again we enjoyed our stay--lovely location, close to Buxton and the rest of the fabulous Peak District. It is a reasonable walk up hill to the toilet facilities from the bottom pitches but we did indeed elect to pitch ourselves at the furthest point from the facilities. The staff were all super friendly. The facilities were very clean but are beginning to look a little tired perhaps? The water pressure in the service points was very good but very low in the showers for some reason so it was not the most invigorating shower in the morning. Sadly, despite buying another block of wifi, we were unable to secure enough reception to make it work satisfactorily- indeed 3G was quicker. The staff, layout of site, views, peace, tidiness of the grounds and the Peak District scenery mean that we look forward to returning in the future. If Facilities and Cleanliness was broken down into two categories, we would rate Facilities 4 star ( due to the poor water pressure in the showers) and cleanliness 5 star!!

Pit stop en route but well worth it

Booked an overnight here en route to the lakes site, arrived after hours but warm and friendly greeting, very helpful with local knowledge too. Site so quiet and a short dog walk to Solomons Temple which provided panoramic views. Pity we couldn't stay longer but will surely be back as it's an excellent launch pad for a beautiful part of England. Recommended by both of us and our pooch!

First of Many

Not only was this our first sty on a caravan club site it was our first stay in a caraven. On our arrival we were met with a freindly welcome and the rules of the site we explaiined, we found a faboulous pitch, but the lack of a motor mover left the four of us in stitches as we tried to move a 1500kg van uphill. Having realised our mistake we rehithced and found a second spot that was a little easier to get in to. The site is well maintained and the staff were always helpful and approachable. The location was faboulous, with Buxton being in easy walking distance as well as access to Go Ape (Google it).  Can't recommend the site or the area enough.  5 Stars

Very warm welcome.

We had a stay in Buxton back in June this year. Upon arrival we had a very warm welcome. The walks around were fantastic with great views.. staff on site very friendly with clean facilities. Would recommend for keen walkers even families that just want to put their feet up leaving the children on the play area.

Great weekend

Only our second trip as newbie caravanners, needed a bit of help and found we didn't even need to ask, the guys there were brilliant. Great spot in the middle of a nature park, just right for walking and relaxing.

Lovely site but awful wifi!

Had a great break but needed to catch up with some work. However the wifi was almost unusable, and there was no mobile connection either. Still it made for a more relaxing visit!

Wonderful welcome

What a wonderful welcome we received - We can't praise the wardens enough at Buxton. Such a peaceful, beautiful setting. We are new to Motorhoming and this was only our second site we have visited. We will definitely be back to explore the beautiful country park with our 3 dogs. Superb, spotless facilities and super wi-fi connection.  Thank you for a fabulous overnight stay.

Great site and place

The family enjoyed this site and found the staff friendly and very helpful. Plenty of of things to do in Buxton and surrounding areas. Lots of walks for the dogs etc and plenty of coffee shops. pubs restaurants to eat out. The site has poor phone signal. Appears safe for children and good little play area. Only down side is the water pressure in the showers but that is the only problem. Lovely place.
