Most enjoyable stay

The site is very quite and peaceful and in a beautiful spot. The wardens work under a lot of pressure on this site, they were digging out trenches to let the water away when we arrived. The toilets are now quite tired and could do with a good refurb, they were not pleasant to visit that often. As others have said, the wifi is pretty bad you are lucky if you can get a stable connection. We used our motorhome to get out and about and most places were MH friendly for parking. The Peaks and the views are to die for and on a sunny day 15 -20 miles visibility is easy from up top. Would recommend a visit to Castleton and the Blue Cavern as it's MH friendly. All in all an enjoyable stay and would visit the area again, but probably one of the other CC sites in the area.

good but washrooms tired

Enjoyed our stay there but the wifi wasn't very good and the washrooms are ready for a 'makeover'. Staff were superb and could not have been more helpful, top marks to them.

Wifi

Love this site we come each year especially for the carnival as we play with Fairfield Band and are also members of the caravan club concert band . We paid for the caravan club wifi as we need it for our our business of owning and running a caravan site but unfortunately it never seemed to work . So this was the only down side .

Fantastic site

Just back from spending 2 wks here. Really good team on site, always helpful. Shame about the weather but then Buxton is renowned for its water and were does water come from!!!!. Shame that the CC didn't celebrate the 30 year anniversary on 7 Jul. The location is fantastic and the Soloman's Temple is worth a walk up to for the views.

Fantastic Weekend

After a journey of 6.5 hours that should of only taken 3.5 hours due to M5 / M6 Traffic, we were greeted by 2 very helpful wardens that explained the site and its facilities. The site is well signposted and easy to find, pitches are well laid out, of a good size and relatively level. The shower / toilet block is kept clean and tidy, only criticism is that the showers are not going to win any prizes for water pressure, but with that said they are adequate. All in all we had a fantastic weekend visiting Buxton and the surrounding area, we will definitely visit again.

Walking weekend

If you are looking for a great location for a quiet trip away from the every day stresses of life then The Buxton site is the place to go. Tucked away in an old stone quarry the well maintained site is well sheltered from the outside world and also the elements. There is easy access to miles of varied country walks , open fields or woodland you choose .There are local attractions to find as well as the spar town of Buxton which is reachable in 30-40 minutes walk , although the walk is not for the unfit with the return being all uphill !! This site has become our favourite for weekend retreats , friendly easy going staff and good size pitches add to the attraction.

Brilliant Site

Our first week at Buxton, but it won't be our last. Good size pitches, so peaceful. Walking straight from site. Even though our weather was bad it didn't detract from the beauty of the area. Wardens very friendly and always smiling.
