Break away from it all

As I've read on previous reviews the site is desperately in need of upgrading. The toilet block was badly in need of a little care and attention, the wardens did keep it lovely and clean though. The pitches seem to be okay but quite short in length, our tow bar was hanging over the edge of the pitch as were several others. Again not sure if will go there again but maybe will check it out once work has been completed.

Good site in need of attention.

We liked this site, but found the facilities in need of update (although I think we did see a sign saying it was going to be done). We weren't very blessed with weather, so it was a soggy weekend for us, the play park was virtually unusable and the walk to Buxton damp. (Can't blame the site for the weather though!) Not sure we would return in a hurry, certainly not until the facilities are upgraded anyhow.

Nice location

Just arrived home after 8 nights at Grinlow. Site is in a lovely position Wardens are friendly and helpful. Very disappointed with the toilet/shower block it is passed its sell by date and the showers are the worst we have come across on a Club site. There also needs to be more water & waste locations around the site as they are very thin on the ground.

Pleasant site

Pleasant site with some nice walking on the doorstep.the wardens were very friendly and helpful.the only thing that is letting the site down was the toilet block needs updating seems very tired compared to other sites other than that it was a great stay here.

Peaceful but beware!

Great idea to turn a disused old quarry into a hidden Caravan Club site.We have been a number of times and always enjoy it and find different things to do each time we go.Walked in Lathkilldale and Deepdale on the latest visit. However, beware if you select to stay near the grass triangle (pitches 98 etc.)Someone has decided to place 3 useless large rocks left over from the quarry near the perimeter of the grassed area. I accidentally drove into one in the dark and did over £1000 worth of damage to the car. From what we could see on our latest visit, other people have collided with these stupid obstacles. They serve no useful purpose-(someone drove between them and straight across the grass while we were there!)

Stay at Grin Low

Just spent five days at the Buxton caravan site. Very clean and tidy. Didn't use the toilet block as always use our own facilities so cannot comment. Walked up to Solomon's Temple and went exploring in the car. Found a delightful pub called the Knights Table. A little way out but good food.

Great site

Great site and well located to access the lovely town of Buxton. Having the Grin Low Country Park on the door step was particularly good for dog owners like us. The walk to Solomens Temple and Poole Caverns was very pleasant and the views spectacular. The site was well laid out and the staff were excellent. My only minor concern was that the toilet block could do with updating and shower water pressure was not as good as other sites we have been to.

Most enjoyable stay

The site is very quite and peaceful and in a beautiful spot. The wardens work under a lot of pressure on this site, they were digging out trenches to let the water away when we arrived. The toilets are now quite tired and could do with a good refurb, they were not pleasant to visit that often. As others have said, the wifi is pretty bad you are lucky if you can get a stable connection. We used our motorhome to get out and about and most places were MH friendly for parking. The Peaks and the views are to die for and on a sunny day 15 -20 miles visibility is easy from up top. Would recommend a visit to Castleton and the Blue Cavern as it's MH friendly. All in all an enjoyable stay and would visit the area again, but probably one of the other CC sites in the area.

good but washrooms tired

Enjoyed our stay there but the wifi wasn't very good and the washrooms are ready for a 'makeover'. Staff were superb and could not have been more helpful, top marks to them.
