Good site as expected

Just spent 4 nights at Burford. We have been here many times in the past and it is a great place for visiting the South of the Cotswolds. Very pleasant and efficient welcome from the wardens and the fully serviced pitch was as expected with plenty of room for van, car and awning. The whole site and all its facilities are in very good and very clean condition. The site is directly across the road from the Wildlife park and it is interesting laying in bed in the morning and hearing the lions roaring away - their roars certainly do carry. As others have said, travel into Burford is a bit awkward without a car but anyone doing their planning will realise this and put up with it or avoid this site. This is in no way an issue that the C&MH club can deal with. There is plenty of Air traffic from Brize Norton which is fascinating and quite quiet. Only slight improvement could have been some food vans on site some evenings - this may well be a seasonal thing and may have been going on during the warmer months. All in all a great stay with quality as expected.

Pleasant Stay on this quiet site

We came here in November on a last minute trip, just an hour away from where we keep our van in storage. Access is so easy and straightforward and we found check in easy (as usual). Plenty of room for us on hardstandings at this time of year. Didn't use any facilities so cannot comment. Dog walk in regular use. Good play area if you have children. So quiet at night, probably one of the best nights sleep we have had on site (although site not full of course). Opposite the Wildlife park so some animal noise to be heard during the day, but not at all intrusive and not at night. We would return here again to further explore the area if we are looking for a short break close to home.

Burford first visit

In October this year I made my first visit to Burford, was going to go to Bladon Chains, but that one had been closed. The site was however convenient for a visit to Blenheim. The site is advertised as Burford, but it is a few miles outside of the village, so eve though there was a path to the village it was quite a lone walk, there were however motorhome parking pitches in the village car park. The site was well laid out, very clean and well presented, as ever the wardens were great. I really liked the revised hours for toilet cleaning which are now 2.00pm to 3.30p,, its a great time for this to happen from a visitors point of view, it means that there is not a mad rush to get there before 10.30am, which creates overcrowding

Great Site needing easier access into Burford

This is a great site & fabulous for visiting the wildlife park & surrounding areas, especially if you have transport available. If you don't have access to a car, the A road is too dangerous to use to walk into Burford (the most direct route). You can walk via public pathways but a round trip, without doing a lot of walking in Burford, is around 9+ miles. If you have bikes you can cycle in via quieter roads too & avoid the busy A road (there are a few hills so beware)! Other than the access to local cafes etc, it is a lovely, clean site.

Brilliant Site

Second visit to this site and again not disappointed with our stay, we had a grass pitch on this visit but the weather was good for the 2 weeks we were there apart from one day it rained but no problem with the ground. Shower block facilities were good and always clean. Snack vans that came to the site on certain evenings were good and a welcome break from cooking. Site is close to the town of Burford and other lovely villages in the Cotswolds and surrounding area. Cotswold Wildlife Park is a must see attraction and if you like aviation at all RAF Brize Norton isn't too far away. Brilliant site and well worth a visit, we will be going back.

Fantastic site, with great facilities - Really friendly staff (Especially Ann, we loved her!) Great for dogs - lovely attention to detail like the stick library for dogs or herb garden. We really enjoyed our stay.

Great site , no gold WiFi

This is the second time we have stopped at the site ( May) and September. It’s a lovely site with great wardens however it is advertised as a gold WiFi site and the site has very poor WiFi. The warden said they still had an issue with WiFi, it is up to the Club to either provide the gold WiFi or inform members of the lack of WiFi. On our recent visit it was important to get a WiFi signal. We pay £ 30 annual subscription. Members may be booking a seasonal pitch next year based on this , so be warned there WiFi issues . Will they be rectified shortly? This is a great family site next to the Wildlfe park and close to Burford and the surrounding Cotswolds lots of places to visit locally.
