perfect location

Stayed here for 4 nights the RIAT at Fairford. Managed to take in the GWRailway, Lower Slaughter (where we had our first holiday together) and the Animal Park opposite as well as lunch in Burford itself. All within easy reach. Lovely site, well kept and friendly. Play area for children is excellent (although we spotted the gardener picking up dog mess while we were in there - shame on you dog owner!!!). Tried to prevent our friends who turned up the next day from being too far from our van but sadly for the people in between it was not to be. We did try to keep our 2 4 year olds from running backwards and forwards, so CC .... worth a thought. Was lovely to hear the lions growling in the evenings too. A near perfect site.

Ideal site

A warm welcome set the tone for our first visit to this lovely site. Friendly and helpful wardens, immaculate facilities, ideal location for exploring the Cotswolds and further afield - oh, and the gingerbread from the site shop was delicious with that first cup of tea. We were only there one night but we'll certainly be back for a longer stay next time.

Welcome Memories Still There

Our first visit to Burford in a "Four Berth" caravan was made over 15 years ago. It was our first caravan trip as a family and this is where the memories return. I say "Four Berth" well it was when that old caravan was made but it would not even enter into a two berth category now. We were quite simply made to feel very welcome by the staff and also every caravan around our pitch. I say caravan, well their owners who came out to see if we need to borrow anything while we were there. Two nights and off we returned home full of memories that are still with us today. All good except me recalling sleeping on the caravan floor with legs under the double bed and not being able to roll over as my hips would hit the double bed base which is those days was the table. The rest were good ones. All these years later my wife and I made our second caravan trip (without the young adults) in our 1999 Lunar Ariva which is a "Baby Two Berth" and bought second hand less than three months ago. Well the welcome was very much still there. The staff gave us a very warm welcome and the caravans owners appreciated that we did not have the latest all singing caravan in tow. Yes she is a bit smaller than most of the others but she stood proud in a lovely well maintained plot. The whole experience has left us with more great memories and glad to say not including sleeping on the caravan floor. This is simply a lovely place to visit and I have indicated five ticks on all categories. Well deserved ones at that. A great base to set off from to see the area and a great place to return to even all these years later.

1st say at Burford

Great site wardens helpful facilities spotless and site maintained well. Very close to the wildlife park for which discounted tickets can be purchased at reception. Very pretty villages to be explored across the Cotswolds. We intend to return.

A lovely site.

booked for 5 nights and it was a pleasure to stay here. The staff were very helpful, the site and facilities were clean and tidy up to the usual CC standards. You can walk across the road the the wildlife park( my dog loved all the new smells and sights) The village of Burford is a short drive away but well worth going to. It is a very pretty village and has a lot of unusual shops. I would stay here again if I am touring this way.
