Exploring the Cotswolds

We stayed at Burford Touring Park in March following the service of our Bailey Cadiz at Cotswold Edge. Great site and excellent location with easy access. The wardens were extremely friendly and could not do enough to help. The facilities are very good with great shower block and toilets. Great location for exploring the Cotswold's, Bourton -on-the -water, Burford, Broadway worth a visit. And with the Cotswold's Wildlife Park just across the road great place to stay. The only problem we had as was when we changed pitches, Electric would not work, tried previous connection to check we had not blown anything in the van and checked out ok. As there were no spare connections on the post we could reach, decided to move again (thank god for motor movers) Plugged in and no power! So then went to reception.. have you twisted it! As we are fairly new to Touring we had never encountered of the older connections before, they say you live and learn. If I was being really picky my only niggle would be distance to the water and waste disposal point at main block, t could do with a couple around the periphery, still helps to keeps you fit. www.touringviews.co.uk

Fantastic for wildlife park

Stayed here for a week after Easter and couldn't fault the site. Wardens were fantastic and very accommodating when we had to make a last minute delay by one day when my child hurt their wrist. One of the wardens even remembered us from Pembrey last summer! Sensibly the grass pitches were out of action due to the poor weather, which suited us well as we prefer hardstandings. Some hardstandings looked more level than others, but I can't fault the pitch we were on. Play area was lovely, with something for all ages and room for some football too. At night you could listen to all the various animal noises coming from the wildlife park, and in the morning we were able to watch the ostriches from our front window! There was some plane noise, which I assume was down to nearby RAF base, but all in all it was great. As previously noted in other reviews, there is very little to be reached on foot (except the wildlife park) as far as I could tell, and motorhome parking in the nearby Cotswold villages could be challenging. Asda and Morrisons within 15 minutes drive. The wildlife park provided a great day out and very reasonably priced. Definitely a site we will consider returning to.

Lovely site,Helpful in a crisis

Stayed at Burford over the Easter weekend. Really enjoyed this site, toilets clean and warm and the wardens were helpful and friendly. Had a bit of a crisis on the second day when the car wouldn't start the wardens came to the pitch and jump started my car as the battery had died. cant thank the enough. Definitely will be back as did not get chance to visit the wildlife park.

Lovely site if you have a car

We stayed in March 2018 for a couple of nights and were welcomed by friendly wardens. The site itself is very clean and the facilities can't be faulted. In fact, our only gripe is with its location. Caravaners will love this site due to its central location and easy access to many attractions. However, if like us you're a motorhomer (without a tow car or bikes), you'll probably not want to go back. There's absolutely nowhere to go. No walks, pubs or public transport. The only way to get away from the site would be on a bike or in a taxi. As we have a dog, bikes are a no no. We've since learnt that there's a small family run site within minutes of Burford, so that's where we'll be staying when visiting this beautiful part of the country.

Got what we expected

Easy to find just off the A40. If you can avoid the Oxford Ring Road you'll save a lot of time. The site is what you might expect, friendly welcome from the wardens, pitch was big enough and hardstanding, toilets were very clean, showers as you would want. It was peaceful and quiet most of the time, though the lane running past the site was noisier than expected and there was the occasional noise of aircraft from nearby RAF Brize Norton. Loads of lovely villages locally plus more well known places i.e. Bourton on the Water, Burford (2 miles away) has an abundance of pubs and good places to eat. Only complaint would be lack of water points, we were on Pitch 28 and unless you walked across he grass it was a fair walk following the roadway.

Burford

This was our second visit, with our first about fives years ago, and it does tick all the boxes.Pitches are large and spaced out.The site does operate a one way system which does make access egress easier.TV did pixelate, but it does have aerial points on the electrical bollards.Site is easily reached from the A40 just follow signposts for the Cotswolds Wildlfe Park which is dead opposite the site entrance.Discount offers are available from reception. There are some lovely peaceful Cotswolds villages nearby along with the major honeypot sites all a short drive. We did a walk from the site around the local villages, but it is a long way to the nearest pub.If the site location has one disadvantage, its about two miles from the site to the Burford town centre. It would not stop me from using this site again though.

Lovely stay despite the weather

We stayed for 3 nights in March site had only just opened for this year so not very busy. Lovely flat site. Wardens very friendly and helpful. We had a visitor come to surprise us and they were very accomodating. Excellent for visiting Cotswold Wildlife Park as opposite although we didnt visit on this occasion. Used park and ride to visit Oxford. Burford is a pretty cotswold town. Only small criticism would be showers are very small and bench for clothes narrow. Lovely weekend though.

Snowy stay in March

Stayed here in the snow in March, spacious level pitches, warm and spotless facilities, small but well stocked shop in reception, lovely, friendly wardens, great location within walking distance of the wildlife park. Will definitely stay here again.

Lovely site

We stayed at Burford for a weekend in September. It is a lovely site just opposite the entrance to the Cotswold Wildlife Park-for which you could buy discounted tickets. The site was well maintained and the wardens welcoming and friendly. Burford is not too far away and all other areas of the Cotswolds are easily accessible. We will return again.
