Lovely Site.

We stayed at this site in early May 2019, and it was very quiet as the kids were all back to school. There is a good selection of grass and hardstanding pitches, we prefer grass and that proved to be a good choice. Other reviews have mentioned the close proximity of the Wildlife Park, but we experiences no traffic issues apart from the morning we left, when cars were queuing at 9-15am waiting for the park to open. We were leaving, so it didn't hold us up. We have stayed here several times before and each time has been a very pleasant experience. Gripes. A few. Despite there being rules in place, we did meet a motorhome going the wrong way round the oneway system despite the no entry signs, I dread to think what the driver is like on a public road! We did also notice more than once caravans checking in well before the 12 o'clock check in time, why is that allowed? Can't people follow simple rules? Loose dogs were encountered off the lead, one rushed through our pitch one day, with no sign of its owner and finally why is the milk £1-30 for a 2 litre bottle in the shop, when most places sell it for half that price? Apart from those gripes, its a lovely site and we will be back.

Lovely peaceful site

Lovely peaceful site that is very well kept by excellent wardens. We spent a week there between bank holidays so it was very quiet, however I can image how busy it must be at peak times due to the neighbouring Cotswold Wildlife Park visitors. The Wildlife Park is well worth a visit and you can obtain discounted prices form the site office. We will definitely re visit in the not too distant future and also vist the dog friendly Wildlife Park again. The only down side the mobile reception is very poor to non extistant. Got to make a special mention again about the Wardens, they were brilliant.

Holidays Traffic, traffic, traffic. Off peak gem of a site.

An ok site that’s opposite the Cotswolds Wild Life Park and during holidays traffic is unbelievably dreadful. Arriving bank holiday Friday took well over 1:30min to travel the last mile. Added to this, thereafter, leaving the site each day was usually ok, provided you don’t forget anything because getting back in could easily take over an hour as you join the queues at times. There’s no alternative with a car or motorhome other that to stay out all day if your going to the shops. The sites clean and tidy, wardens are great, facilities limited to one utility block. There are other CAMC sites nearby that have better overall facilities and without the traffic constraints this location imposes, unless, once your pitched up, you don’t leave site. We like to visit surrounding areas so sadly we won’t be returning during any holiday periods again, once bitten twice shy, we shall only ever return off peak.

Perfect Easter getaway.

Bit of a tailback on the entrance to site on Friday. Due to the Wild Life Park sharing same turn off at crossroads. Staff were great. The check in was fast and efficient. The pitch was on grass and a good size. What a lovely site. Facilities were spotless, and hot water any time of day. Showers were great. Very peaceful site, although full there were never any problems with rubbish bins being full or recycling. Had a very enjoyable four days break. We both loved the site. And would definitely come back in the future.

Very pleasant site

Only a short stay, however lovely well maintained site in heart of Cotswolds. While this was a rare trip away without kids, site would be good for families with large play area and being on doorstep of Cotswold Wildlife Park Chip van visited Friday and Pizza on Saturday so opportunities to avoid cooking if needed

Perfect little site

First stayed here twelve years ago and pleased to say it's as good as ever. Nice warm welcome from the wardens and excellent facilities block. Lovely flat site with good size pitches and plenty of trees for privacy. Needed to use the TV hook up as signal was weak although Wifi was excellent. Superbly located for all the glorious places in the Cotswolds and the wildlife park next door. Used the fish and chip van although nearly fell over backwards when he told me the price but it was tasty and good portions.

Great site!

We came last week for a 2 night stay, had a great time! The staff are very friendly and helpful with information if you need it. The site is great for children. We brought scooters and bikes, there is so much space for the children to ride around, perfect! Plenty of space around each pitch, quiet at night. Next to the Cotswolds Wildife Park, brilliant day out. Will definitely be coming back. 😊

1s time visit.

Our first trip out this year and we wanted some peace & quiet-we certainly got it! The site was not very busy, so was quiet, and the occasional lion roar was lovely to hear. A visit to the animal park was fabulous-where else can you go eye to eye with a giraffe?! Also, the food in the restaurant is reasonably priced and good quality, with decent sized portions. A trip to Oxford was rather more fraught, so if you have a motorhome-pay attention! Did our research into the park and ride system before leaving home, so thought we had it sussed. However, the satnav packed up, so had to rely on road signs. To cut a long and VERY frustrating story short, be aware that the park and ride site at Water Eaton, which is the first one you come to on the A40, has been renamed Oxford Parkway. Unfortunately, none of the road signs have been altered! (We had ignored these signs, as they had the railway symbol on, so thought it was a separate site). Also, when arriving at the park and ride, pull up outside the area marked for high sided vehicles, go to the small building where the buses arrive/depart and look for the attendant-if he is not about, go inside the building and press the buzzer by the office door. He will then come over and unlock the barrier so you can park. The same applies when you return, so you can leave-just make sure it's before 7pm as he goes home then and you will be shut in for the night! Apart from that, we had a lovely time, and now we have sussed the system, will return so we can go into Oxford and explore properly.

A Perfect stay

We stayed for two nights with our 4 and 8 year old. This site is great, facilities are very clean and warm, all staff are very friendly and helpful. This site is perfect for visiting the Cotswold wildlife park which is opposite, a 10 minute walk approx, ( beware after walking around the park all day little ones may be very tired, our walk back was not swift or moan free ! We shall take the car next time!) buy your tickets at the site reception and get a discount, Take cash though as they do not accept card payments for tickets or shop purchases. Burford is a short drive away, lots of lovely pubs and cafes. Showers were great, warm and good pressure, There is a baby/toddler washroom which you get a door key code for, We didn't need it however if the standards are like the general toilets and showers I think it would be a little gem if you have little ones. There's a great little playground/park for children along with a little field for letting off steam. All in all this is a fab site, We will be returning and would recommend to anyone, The staff and standards are fantastic. Do not hesitate to book !
