Beautiful site

This site is so beautiful and well kept. It is walking distance to The Cotswold Wildlife Park which is a perfect day out for adults as much as children. We always feel very relaxed at this site.

First time caravan holiday alone

I was delighted to stay at this superb site for eight nights. Having had two caravan holidays with friends I joined the club as I was given the opportunity to borrow a van and explore this lovely area again after many years of being unable to travel here. The site staf were all helpful and when my friend and I struggled to set up the awning help was close at had Once on my own I had no fear of future problems of which there were few and the reassurance of pleasant conversation as well as helpful hints was greatly appreciated The facilities were always spotless it is a pity that some campers don't always help others to keep them that way!! After many years away from th area it was helpful to find both literature and personal help in finding my way about again. Certainly found everything top notch!! Having stayed at several club sites with friends I can say this is the best so far Thank you all for making this a great experience.

A week with the grandchildren

We recently spent a few days on this great site with our grandchildren. No problems for them at all, they enjoyed the playground and meeting new friends. Two problem areas. The first is service pitch 114. We have a twin axle caravan and this pitch is literally 25 yards from the service bollard for electricity. We wanted to use an annexe on the awning and we could not place the caravan so that the awning and annexe were on the hard standing. The mains cable would not reach the caravan. Luckily a warden came past and we asked if we could encroach on the grass at the back of the pitch. Reluctantly he agreed and so we put the annexe partly on the hardstanding, partly on the grass. After 4 days when we took the awning down I was pleased to see that we had caused no damage to the grass. My advice if you have large twin axle caravan, and you chose this pitch, just be aware. Please wardens move the electricity bollard closer to the water taps for this pitch. The second problem area concerns dog owners, of which there were many on site. It seems that you now cannot be a caravaner unless you take at least two dogs with you. We have no problems with dogs, indeed we were dog owners in the past. Our problem is with the owners and their sheer laziness in the morning in opening up the awning and letting their dogs " do their business" on the grass area surrounding the pitch. We watched one couple opposite us. The two dogs proceeded to urinate in the entrance to their awning. The lady then took some water, rinsed down the wet patch and then proceeded to walk bare footed through the same area, followed by her children. On an early morning trip to the toilets I witnessed at least 4 caravan/ dog owners just letting their dogs out of the awning. These people did not even rinse down the affected area where their darling pooch had done its morning ablutions. Whilst they may not mind living in this environment, you might think that they would consider others who have to follow them. Youngsters crawling through grass that has been used as a dog toilet, is not a pleasant thought. Apart from these two instances this is a great site and one that we have visited before and will return again.

Fantastic stay at a wonderful site

Stayed here for a couple of nights and had a fantastic time so peaceful and quiet even in the height of the summer season mid August. Site staff are very friendly and have a great sense of humour especially when you try to give them the wrong membership cards oops. Site is centrally located with in easy reach of supermarkets and tourist attractions. Toilets and shower blocks are very clean and well presented and there are also two ladies and two gents facilities all contained within the same block meaning when ones shut for cleaning the other one is open and vice versa a great and well thought out idea. Just outside the site is a wildlife park which looks great for the kids we will definitely be back for a visit but for longer this time. Thank you for a great time will definitely be coming back.

Lovely site at Burford

We spent six days here with our daughter and grandsons, aged 5 and 2. The children were delighted with their tourer explorer booklets and enjoyed the challenges during the week. Very good playground and games field, excellent clean facilities and beautifully kept site. Fish and chip van and pizza oven visit the site. Only downside is a car is needed to reach town/village.

Wonderful Site

We spent a very pleasant weekend at Burford Having booked there to go to the Countryfile Live Show. The reception greeting was warm & friendly with well explained details & advice on pitches available. The site is very well laid out with good size grass & hardstanding pitches. The shower block was always clean & well stocked. The Friday night Fish & Chip Horsebox was a bonus. We will definitely be back to Burford.

A well run Cotswold site

We recently enjoyed a 5 night break at the site whilst visiting our daughter's family in Yarnton, Oxford. The welcoming and professional staff do a great job in keeping this attractive site up to the Club's quality standards. Nearby Burford is a great place to visit (free parking), (car or bike needed to get there) with its medieval stone buildings, specialist shops and a selection of quality pubs. Stow is just 20 mins by car, north of the site - another pretty Cotswold town - and with free parking for 2hrs. Scotts of Stow are a must for shopping enthusiasts. Lunch in the sunny garden of the centrally located 3* AA Stow lodge Hotel was a must - the best Haddock lunch we have had in a long time and very good staff too. Overall - well done to the Burford site staff, we will be back.

A Cotswolds Gem

We recently stayed at Burford for the first time. What a wonderfull site, with a first rate team running it. Site is very well maintained and all the facilities are clean and well maintained. The caravan pitches offer plenty of space and give the site a spacious feel. The aircraft noise was minimal and did'nt bother us at all. The wildlife park which is just over the road is well worth a visit. Discounted tickets can be purchased from the on site office/shop. Burford is a wonderful place, although parking is somewhat of a challenge. The nearby Garden centre is also a great place to visit. Although we did find the food a tad pricey We will most definitely return to this site.

Excellent site

We have just come back from a lovely 4 night break here. The site is very well maintained, and the staff could not be more helpful. There is a very small amount of road noise, but these are country lanes and the cars very infrequent. The toilets are clean and modern. One time there was a lack of toilet paper in the men's, but all other times there were no issues. It was a May bank holiday and there was at no time a problem finding a toilet or shower free. Showers have sufficient space for clothes/bags, 3 hangers and a bench. They are free, warm (adjustable) and powerful. My 11 year old son loved the freedom of the site and the play area. He met lots of new friends. For dogs there is a small (but big enough) area for off-lead running and meet & greet other dogs. There is a larger on-lead walk but it is near the road. The small area was enough for basic needs and there is a poo-bin there so you don't need to carry anything away. Location - it is perfect for the Cotswold Wildlife Park - you can literally walk over the road to it. The site does discounted tickets as well. It is a very short drive to Burford and about 15-20 mins to Bourton-on-the-water, so an ideal centre for visiting the area. Will definitely be back. Loved it.
