Snowy stay in March

Stayed here in the snow in March, spacious level pitches, warm and spotless facilities, small but well stocked shop in reception, lovely, friendly wardens, great location within walking distance of the wildlife park. Will definitely stay here again.

Lovely site

We stayed at Burford for a weekend in September. It is a lovely site just opposite the entrance to the Cotswold Wildlife Park-for which you could buy discounted tickets. The site was well maintained and the wardens welcoming and friendly. Burford is not too far away and all other areas of the Cotswolds are easily accessible. We will return again.

I write this as how we found it.very welcoming from the staff.good knowledge and info.site some of the super pitches near the toilet block where water logged(right in the awnings) with just a shower or 2.and it had not rained for a few days before but large puddles where still seen.lawns where cut well.toilets that where open where clean and well presented.quitw a bit of noise (gas oump and fan )from the toilet block heating system as we where parked opposite.lots to explore in the area.would we return yes.but be careful where we pitches.tv via the electric post was good.didnt yet caravan ariel

Great place to stay and visit the Cotswolds

Stayed a couple of nights during half term. Quite busy but no noise apart from trees being chopped down right next to site. We were warned about this anyway. Very helpful in the office and got our discount tickets for the Wildlife park. Would definitely return to explore more of the Cotswolds

Nice site but could be better

We ve have just come back from a few days stay at the Burford site the site facilities are very clean and well looked after, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Some things that we felt could be done better, our stay was towards the end of the season because of this some of the toilets had been shut up and closed ready for the end of the season which we found a bit awkward because the other toilets were out of action for an hour a day for cleaning. We were pitched near the road and the nearest service point is at the main toilet block which is quite a walk carrying a full toilet cassette or to fetch water which leads me on to my next point the quickest route to the toilets and services is across the grass which means that you are walking between other people's pitches invading the space but to my dismay I managed to tread in some dog mess and drag my waterhog through the poo as well .I understand that this is not the Caravan club or the staffs fault but I have a suggestions put a footpath across the grass which people could use and keep their feet clean which would make the toilets and services more accessible .Finally impress on dog owners the importance of cleaning up after their pets plus put up signs to encourage this further. Thankyou Caravan Club

Our usual Autumn Visit and just as good as ever

Our usual Autumn visit to meet up with friends living nearby and as always as we leave Oxford west bound on the A40 we have a really sense of anticipation which always rises as we reach the Burford rounderbout and as ever our anticipation was fulfilled when we pulled on to site and were greeted by the usual friendly welcome and the ever delightfully well kept site. The serviced pitches were nearly full but our favoured pitch was still available but it confirmed the importance of booking this site early, especially if a service pitch is required. As always the site was in excellent condition, clean and very tidy and the facilities block again excellent. For us, a new surprise since our last visit was the Pizza Van's visit as well as the chip van calling, so no need to be hungry here over the weekend. Well done site team, a brilliant site and the autumn colours on site and around the zoo and the country lanes are just beautiful.

Wonderful site !!!

We have visited this site on many occasions over the last few years due to us having family living close by....on all visits the wardens have been so very very friendly .....we are now aware that the wardens will be leaving the site at the end of this season 😢....I am sure that Burfords loss will be the next club sites gain !! I feel that the wardens have added sooooo much to the ambiance of this site and the wardens due to take over in the new season will have very big boots to fill!!!! May we take this opportunity of thanking the Wardens at Burford (both long term and short term wardens ) for their kindness and friendlyness over the last three years ...especially during the birth of our two grandchildren !

Sleeping lions!

We hadn't explored the Cotswolds before, so our stay at Burford was the opportunity to do this. We were not disappointed. As always for the Caravan and Motorhome Club, the site was immaculate and the wardens friendly. Pitches are large, most are level and are well spaced. Showers and facilities excellent. The site is a little way out of Burford village, but its only a very short drive away. However, the site is right opposite the Cotswold Wildlife Park, and club members get a discount on the entry tickets. This is the only wildlife park I know that allows dogs in, which was great for us, and we spent a good day in the park. From the campsite, you can hear the lions roaring each evening, along with owls and other night time creatures. As dog owners I would have liked better dog walking facilities, the two dog walks are quite small, and one is open to the busy road. You are not allowed to walk the dogs in the adjacent woods, or round the nearby housing estate, but as we were out most days, this wasn't a huge problem. All in all a great site, and we would certainly recommend a visit.

Great site!

Love this site. Have visited twice before several years ago, and think it is one of my favourites! Autumn is lovely here with the leaves circulating the site; apples and sweet chestnuts falling. So many National Trust places to visit, pretty villages to explore and well marked footpaths to walk through stunning countryside. We stayed for 2 weeks, but left with so much more to do. The site is well laid out and the staff are friendly. Facilities are excellent. We won’t be leaving it so long before we return again.
