Honeymoon Stay

My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon and after a long trip, my wife was rather disappointed by the reception we received from the lady working there. We wanted to know if we could park up somewhere for the night and then move into one of the spots where someone was moving the next day so we could be closer to the loch and have the ultimate 'Bunree experience' for our honeymoon but the member of staff was unwilling to accommodate and just said to come back tomorrow but she couldn't guarantee it. We did question whether the somewhat unfriendly reception was due to us being young but we felt as if we weren't very welcome.  We had booked to stay here for 10 days but the weather wasn't great and we longed for some sunshine so we ended up cutting our trip short and headed back to Kendal (a stop over on route) where the sun was still shining!  The site itself is very picturesque.  The dog walk here is very limited although we did manage to walk him along the pebbled beach when the tide was out this wasn't always available and when the tide came in, the normal dog walking area was covered in water.  The drying room was a blessing and we often used this facility due to the poor weather.  Would we return? No unfortunately not.

A Bit Too Much Hype?

Stayed here in July '15. First impression was that the site is too small. Pitches too close together. No awning possible at pitches next to sea. The 'dog walk' was quite bluntly about 100 yards in length with tricky terrain if wet. No access to the beach was permitted because of nesting birds apparently, which weren't very apparent either. Not much good for three Collies needing a proper run! Welcome was a bit colder than I had hoped for. In summary, doesn't compare to North Ledaig which is our usual haunt. Since we were heading North thought we would try it out since it seems to be promoted as a kind of flagship site. Satellite was poor unless you're down by the sea and can avoid the huge mountain blocking reception. Would also question the suitability for families. Indeed, it did have a play park but most of the clientage seemed to be elderly. The traffic light system, although necessary, became a bit of a bane really. Don't think I would rush back :-(

Outstanding Views

We stayed here in August but the weather was a bit wet. It had rained for 3 full days just before we arrived but thankfully cleared just after we got there but the site was a bit waterlogged in places. However, that did not spoil our enjoyment of this site. The views from the site are fantastic, looking right out accross Loch Linnhe. The boat traffic up and down the loch was wonderful to watch and the one sunset we had was stunning. The site itself was well maintained by the friendly wardens and the pitches were a great size, just waht we needed to lay out our gear to dry it out. Not a lot to do on-site but it is only 8 miles to Fort William, about 15 to Glen Coe and 20 to the famous Commando statue at Glefinnan so well worth visiting this area. We will definitely be back, hopefully in much better weather to allow us to better enjoy the facilities around this stunning area.

Best site in the Highlands

I've stayed here a few times and each time I wish my stay was longer. Being right on the edge of Loch Linnhe, there are wonderful views to be had from your caravan window and in early summer, the sun sets behind the mountains across the loch producing some stunning sunsets. The site itself is well looked after by the friendly wardens who told me of some nice walks from the site. Only a few miles drive to the wonderful Glen Coe, this is an ideal base for the serious hill walker. Looking forward to my next visit here.

Monarch of the glens

What a site, what a location! A long awaited return visit in the last week of the 2015 season, our memories had not embellished this site at all. Lovely views and walks, free walk on ferry around the corner takes you across the bay to woodland, hotel/pub, stunning views - facilities and wardens up to CC standards, what's not to like! Absolutely love it there, a jewel.

Lovely View

We stayed in June 2015. Beautiful location next to the loch. All the usual club site facilities to the expected standard. Nearest big shops are Fort William so we took our motorhome in. Loads of specific parking so no issues. A trip across the Corran Ferry is worthwhile and lunch in the Inn just over the water is good. Dinner at Four Seasons was also good. Also take a walk to Onnich and visit the tea room and general store. The breakfast is cracking.

Great autumn break

Had a lovely 4 night break at this site. Spectacular views enhanced by daily visit of two magnificent sea eagles! Site is kept very clean and tidy. Wardens helpful and friendly. Lots of wonderful walks for our two dogs. The colours of October in the highlands are so beautiful - we'll certainly be back.

Summer Break

An absolutely stunning site excellent facilities and very friendly staff, the views from the site are breathtaking, the only down side was the pitch we were on had three different angles to it which made it very difficult to level off the motorhome, much clutch slipping to climb the leveling chocks to make it right, but it could be fixed over the winter ready for next year, we will still be back though.

Fantastic location

Me and my wife spent 10 nights here in October 2015, it could not have been better. The site is very well run and the wardens were really friendly and helpful. The location and views are stunning and would recomend it to anyone who loves great views, fresh mountain air and a peaceful site. We will be back!
