Simple and peaceful site and just what we wanted

Spent three nights here in our motor home and would highly recommend the site for people wanting a quiet, peaceful setting. We were very lucky that a spacious pitch in the sunny, open area of the site was available when we arrived and it was perfect for our needs. Agree with other reviewers that many of the 'best' pitches (if an open, sunny aspect is your preferred) are taken by seasonal caravans so there is a bit of luck needed to arrive at a time when one is available. The lower, woodland pitches were atmospheric, peaceful and well-kept but might have felt a bit gloomy to us. Wardens delightful and helpful and keep the site immaculate. Much is made in other reviews about the challenge of narrow, pot-holed lanes on the approach but we drove slowly and had no problems even though our unit is pretty big. Vital to observe the site arrival/departure times, though. There were very few children evident on the site during our stay, I guess because there is no playground, so maybe the site is not perfect for families. The flip side, of course, is a more peaceful atmosphere which we did appreciate. Great site!

Beware

The road from the office into the woods is DANGEROUS, it almost ripped off my exhaust,. I own a road car not a 4x4. Also dangerous to walk down. Some road cars drove on the grass because it's that bad. I understand the warden has reported it, but was told it's safe..... Are you waiting for a exhaust to be ripped off, are you going to pay for a replacement? Or someone to fall. It's so concave in shape and already patched. Come on club safeguard your members or is money everything. You spend enough on new signage and uniforms. Keep us safe.

Restful quite week recharging batteries

This is our Second time at Broomfield, having stayed at Easter we loved it so much,so when we just needed time away with no noise, no hassle Broomfield has all of that, parked in the wooded area this time, a lovely spot with shade and sunshine. The wildlife was amazing, squirrel munching his way through the tree next to caravan most of the week, bunnies and birds etc. Peace is heavenly, park is kept immaculate at all times. Can't praise it enough. The road in is small and was very muddy on the way out due to the mother of all thunderstorm at the beginning of the week, but nothing to daunting. Warden are very friendly and helpful and work to keep site well maintained We Will be returning soon.

Super site pity about the road in

Broomfield Farm Super Site with terrible access road . We bottomed out 3 times on the way in but managed to avoid the dips by driving with one wheel on the verge on other occasions. I think motorhomers should be warned about this when booking. We actually witnessed one car loose his exhaust by driving much too fast and I think he was local. The site itself is superb with lots of walks for the dog direct from the site and the site is kept immaculately by the wardens

It's the 🐝 knees

Had 3 nights , site kept in perfect condition, flowers around the office beautiful, service points spotless , bins emptied, grass mowed . Obviously Sue and Graham the wardens take a pride in their site. Went to Heathfield, Sainsbury's, Tesco and a co-op plus the independent shops , had breakfast. ( cafe by the zebra crossing) very good . Eastbourne, Hailsham and Lewes nearby. The entrance lane is narrow , there are passing lay-bys, Follow the rules don't arrive till 12' o clock and leave by 11 shouldn't have a problem. Well worth a visit , having no toilet/ shower block doesn't worry us , these days vans catters for this and at only £14 a night ! Plus local pubs 🍷 Good for dogs , dog walk on site , nice and shady on a hot day , dog bins supplied and owners were using them 🐕

Our favourite 'not too far from home' site

Well what can we say. This site is perfect. Divided into various open and wooded areas, small round pitches with six or seven vans, larger areas in full sunlight all day and shaded spots too, beautifully maintained hedges, grassy areas and trees. Wonderful birdsong and wildlife. Fab little dog walk through shady beech trees, bountiful bluebells in May. The wardens are a fantastic couple Graham and Sue Clay. Always there to welcome you on arrival and willing to lend a hand when needed. Order a daily paper from Sue and collect it from the site office the next morning, they also sell ice creams and several store items, but no milk or bread so bring that with you. The site is beautifully presented. Access can be tricky, the lanes leading to it are very narrow, and the locals drive fast!! So approach the site driving carefully. We can highly recommend this place to anyone wanting tranquility and peace. The local village of East Hoathly is a 20 minute walk through footpaths and country lanes and the Sunday lunch at the The Kings Head pub will fill you up enough to last the week ahead! but book a table in advance. The village also has a small village store and cafe. The Bluebell Girls and Buddy

A tranquil haven!

We have just bought our first motorhome and wanted a quiet site near to our home where we could spend a night and try everything out. Wow, what a little gem this site is. Immaculate, clean, well laid out with privacy in wooded area and just complete peace and quiet. Even though its only 10 miles from our home, we will definitely be coming back to visit!

Needed to recharge life battery

Spent 4 nights, met up with old friends and seasonals. Site is my favourite, only noise is birdsong. New wardens, Graham and Sue are smashing. Flowers around the office are very colourful, much improved on last year . Site is how it was in previous years . The only downside is the state of the hard standings, need money spent on them especially pitches 26-28 this is not the wardens fault but down to the club . Special thanks to Graham for weeding and cutting grass around the boules pitch so the old boys (Rob and Terry ) could play 👴👲😃 If you want a peaceful break visit here.

Nice site at affordable price

Good CC Site with basic facilities (all you need) at a good rate. Site is half open aspect and half wooded with clusters of pitches which could be gloomy if an open outlook is preferred. Majority of pitches in the open area are hard standing and a large percentage of remaining grass pitches are taken up by unoccupied seasonal caravans so luck is needed to be in this part of the site. Site location is good with easy access to many National Trust properties in the area.
