Stay off the grass!

This is a quiet site with a lovely dog walk and is in a good location. There are 2 dog walks, the one on site is ok with dogs being kept on the lead. There is a field adjacent to the site, accessed by a stile (it lifts up for the dogs) and dogs can run free here and it is enclosed. This is where my glowing report ends. The wardens were very sour faced and not welcoming at all.The pitches are around a central field which the warden spent hours every day mowing on his ride on mower. Not particularly peaceful! He was also very protective of his strategically placed cones, which made it difficult for some larger units to negotiate, merely to keep them off the grass. I can understand this in Winter or had it been wet but it was 25 degrees. and had been dry for weeks! As a family with 2 well behaved boys, we were hoping to play games etc. however we were told in no uncertain terms that NOBODY IS ALLOWED ON THE GRASS! You must not even walk across it! Which seemed ridiculous, especially as the boules pitch was in the middle! As a Family, the site was not very accommodating. More suited to older couples, as long as you don't mind the constant mowing!

I wanted the middle of nowhere and I found it!

It's an easy site to find if you can override the satnav to follow the books directions - not that of a small task, if a lone caravaner like me. The lanes do get narrow and you are advised to follow the timings as stated, but alas the dustman and local delivery services do not, so be warned! Just when you think you might have missed the site entrance, it appears on your right. You are greeted by a lovey welcoming couple, who are not afraid to pass on any knowledge you may require.  It's a strange layout of a big field with pitches around the perimeter and smaller secluded ones. The roads between them also have pitches alone their sides. The site does feel that the layout could be reworked as some pitches do feel very small and close to the next. There are quite a few reserved seasonal pitches and these do appear to have the best of the pick. That aside its a lovely site to stay at, with the biggest dog walk I've seen on a site and great walks ( public Footpaths ) to discover. It's is a very quiet place and the only noise is what is generated on site.  Very worthy of a return for a longer stay.

All we need.

First time we have gone seasonal. Chose this site as we have stayed a couple of times before. We love it here, and yes there is the occasional yapping dog and children actually enjoying themselves in the great outdoors. If your looking to go caravaning and sit in your van watching telly then you will miss out on a great location. The wardens have worked very hard to make this site a pleasure to come to. sadly we can only get there every other weekend. The one thing that we have appreciated is how sociable people are on this site in comparison to some others we have visited, i think its down to the fact that real caravaners who still enjoy the old values of the vocation come here. The village is walk-able, and the pubs do good food and beverages of all kinds. Well just thought had to put something on here to make others aware of this gem. Lastly thanks again to Terry and Sandy for the hard work always with a smile and a good conversation.

Four days in July

We have stayed on this site before. This time we had moved from Kent. It's a nice roomy site and normally very quiet. Alas, this time we had two yappy dogs in a nearby caravan. Had we been staying longer we would have complained. Not really the site's fault though and we would definitely use the site again. The lane into the site,in parts, is a bit narrow. Good news about the leaving and arrival times, as long as someone enforces them.

Lovely. Peaceful.

Wonderful peaceful site in beautiful location. Access a little bit harum scarum due to not much in the way of passing places (arrival and departure times are staggered sensibly to avoid problems). We stayed on the main site as the woodland part was felt to be a bit too wet after the recent storms. It was all just lovely. Great for people who are hoping for a quiet getaway, and close to Brighton if you feel the need for city life.

Quiet retreat

Great place for a quiet get away at a reasonable price, very well kept grounds and some cosy pitches in the wooded area. Do not use a SatNav because the lanes are very narrow. Loads to see and do in the vicinity, in Eastbourne you must try the Qualitsea fish and chip shop.

Very Peaceful

We chose this site to use as a base whilst walking the South Downs Way. The final approach from East Hoathly is quite narrow and we encountered a number of vehicles - the occupant of one who gave us a lovely two fingered salute despite having a passing place!!! The wardens stated that they had had a number of complaints from residents and as such, the departure time has now been brought forward to 1100 hrs and the arrival time put back to 1230 hrs. The site itself is very level, peaceful and plenty of walking from the site. Would use again if in the area.

Lovely site

We stayed at this lovely site in May 2016 whilst visiting family in the area. It's a beautiful site that offers space and quite a peaceful stay. The wardens were all very polite and kind and the grounds are kept well and also offers a lovely dog walk too. We have 3 young children and although there are no play areas and toilet blocks we managed just fine as the site is close to many places close by that you can visit and enjoy as a family. One down point is the TV signal strength (although fair) is a bit hit and miss due to the trees and made worse when windy weather. Choose your pitch well if TV signal is something that matters to you. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we would definitely look at staying again next time we're in the area.

Broomfield Farm 2016

I arrived in late afternoon after a ghastly drive down from Incleboro Fields so the wardens had left me a typed letter on the door. I pitched, brewed up & settled in after having just turned the m/van round to be perfectly level -- just like that !! Next day I booked in and went for a stroll round. I was staggered to discover the great little nooks in the wooded area, and I'd thought it was a plain flat sit with little going for it. OOOPS a big mistake that !! Allowing that the need for your own toilet / wash facilities possibly limits the number of kiddies there it does seem a shame that the great grass area in the centre is just screaming out for youngsters to be playing on it !! Sop very very peaceful, I really did not want to face the motorway network back to Cheshire -- I'd rather have stayed a lot longer.

A wonderful secluded site would make a lovely adult only site

Once again we have visited Broomfield Farm site. The site is well kept and the wardens are an amazing couple. The previous review says it needs a toilet block. It doesn't. If you dislike emptying your toilet go to a site with a toilet block, simple. The same with kids. If you want facilities for children go to one that has a play area. This is one of the best sites if you want a quiet peaceful time. Hardly a phone signal either, wonderful.
