This Site is amazing. It's so quiet, rural and amazing.
The fact there is no toilet block doesn't bother me because my caravan has a loo & shower on board!
The wooded area is so peaceful & tranquil, you can sit in a chair & listen to the birdsong all day long.
The walks from the Site are amazing & you can venture in all directions from the Site.
East Hoathley is a lovely little village with a couple of nice Pubs, and just up the road is Halland &
Ringmer.
This is probably my favorite Site on the network, as it's only 1/2 an hour from home & we spend a lot of time here through the season, whenever we can get away from the daily grind!!
Birdsong in the morning
Very pleasant stay at this very peaceful club site.First of all the access,it is narrow and care required but I have accessed worse. The roads are undulating so as previous post if you bottom out just slow down.I did not see anywhere on the route where it is that narrow trees brush the side of van.
The site is unique as the site is quite large yet only 12 hard standing pitches on your left 6 odd to your right opposite, but there is a very nice wooded area,as this was my first visit and they forecasted sun I went for a open hardstanding pitch, but next time possibly a wooded glade pitch.
There are no facilties which is probably another reason why it is so peaceful. There are walks aplenty with lovely village country pubs in all.Chiddingly Waldron and East Hoathly are accessed by footpaths.
On tip,the site does sell milk, eggs, newspapers etc but there are no corner shops at any of the nearby villages so stock up before you visit.
great find so quite
i was a bit concerned when I looked at the road reviews.. my camper is 6m long Citroen relay and I had no problem with the area, yes there narrow country lanes as it said but lots of pull in places.
the site is very nice, with a warm welcome and a smile.
we chose a pitch in the woods on hard stand. quick look round water and waste points easy to see very clean. it was not very busy with around 6 units in are area and it was lovely and quite.
nice walks across field lots of wild life and fresh air.
we will be back..
worth a try.
Nice peaceful site BUT, whatch the approach roads
Just got back from a long weekend from this site. Let’s start with shall we say the not so good points. The approach roads up to the site which ever way you go are bad with very narrow and rutted roads. We tow a large 8foot wise Buccaneer Cruiser with a Range Rover and even with the air suspension set to max height, we bottomed the Caravan put a few times. Personally; I wouldn’t attempt to go to this site in a standard car. The wardens advises that they have had members coming here for over 17 years mostly adults, so I get the opinion if you have children I would look elsewhere. The good points; it’s so so peaceful and in a great area to explore the South Coast. But for us, with the size of our outfit plus we have a child, I would go to the Caravan Clubs Battle Main Site.
Home from Home
We don't live far away but the site is set in such a wonderful area we love coming here. One has the option for a wide open grassy field to watch the sun go down (or rise!) or the wooded glades if you want the shelter is brilliant. On the occasions we have visited it has always been quiet.
The site is well placed between three good walks to local villages of East Hoathly, Waldron and Chiddingly with pubs providing liquid and solid refreshment. Further afield you have Lewes, Eastbourne and Uckfield.
If you like a country setting then it is well worth a visit
Peaceful and well run site
We stayed over the Bank Holiday weekend, the site was busy, this time we were in the wooded area which was relativley quiet but quite shaded. The site coped well with the BH demands, facilities all working well and well kept. We had some lovelly walks from the site to Chiddingly and around. Wouldnt particularly recomend the Kings Head pub in East Hoathly - food not the best on our visit.
Boules and bar- b- q
Just had long weekend at this site , it was the seasonals boules tournament and bar- b que on the Saturday evening.
Good food , good tournament and very good company.
Sue and Graham are the most lovely, friendly and very hard working wardens , everyone spoke so highly of them and unfortunately they will move on next season , Broomfield farms lost 🙁

Very bad approach road.
Followed the club book for final approach to Broomfield and was not impressed at all ! Worn away roads just wide enough for caravan with steep drop off ledges also overgrown trees / bushes folding back along the side of the caravan . The final half mile is single track with no passing places only drainage dykes so no room for anything to pass . The site expects everyone departing to be off by 11am and no arrivals before 12 due the the access problem but that wasn't adhered to .On the plus side the site is very well kept and is well laid out and has new Wi Fi but personally will not return untill access is better if indeed that is possible !!

In the country
Great to find a Club site at a reasonable price. We use our own facilities so don't need the 'full monty'. The site has a lovely open aspect or pitches in the copse if you prefer. Families with children who can amuse themselves would be happy there, though there is no play area as such. There are many pretty villages in the area along with several National Trust properties and of course the coast. The one downside is the approach, the lanes are narrow and if you have to pull over to let 'white van man in a hurry' pass as we did, there are very nasty ruts at the side of the road. Come on Caravan Club talk to the local council for the sake of your members caravans! The site roads could do with levelling out too!
