We enjoyed a one night stop at Broadway last weekend. What a lovely site....clean, friendly, well kept, warm loos and showers and great fish and chips on the Saturday night. It is also an easy walk into Broadway with lostgof great walking locally. We will go back for longer. Anyone thinking about the spring etc ? ....I would book up as there were not many spare hardstanding pitches on a cold weekend in January.
Cleanliness is second to none here. Grounds are well manicured, shower blocks impeccably maintained and warm. Staff very welcoming and helpful. A lovely setting just a short stroll from the village and major walks. The site will have the added feature of the steam railway running right along the edge of the campsite when it's linked up so will have lots to see.
We have just returned from a two night stay at Broadway, and felt we had to leave a review as it is probably th best Caravan Club (sorry will not use the new name) site we have stayed at. Great location, peace and quiet, super clean and super wardens. No overly fussy rules just the most welcoming place. If you get time walk up to the top she'd to view the original "Wanderer" caravan. So beautiful, so historical- but it does raise the question of why the club name was changed.
Just off to book Broadway again for when the local railway is open.
Good site, very good wardens, location good, snow in December 27. Some dog owners let there dogs mess and Wee on other people’s pitch ( has you can see it in the snow ) not all dog owners . One even weed on my Motorhome wheel . Apart from that in General clean site and well worth going
We spent a week over the new year period at Broadway. We've been a few times before, our last visit being last February. Would you beleive it...the wardens recognised our name and gave us a really warm welcome. The walking around the site is terrific with the Cotswold way and Winchcombe Way just a short distance from the site. If you like a quiet drink by a cosy fire in a doggy friendly pub try the Mount at Stanton or the Snowshill Arms...both set in beautiful villages and on walking trails.
After many years of work by volunteers...The GWSR opens up into Broadway in March 2018 and the station is just a couple of hundred yards from the site so you will be able to catch a steam train all the way to Cheltenham. We will be back!
This was our third time (2013, 2015 previously) that we have spent a few days in Broadway over Christmas and, yet again, it did not disappoint. It was probably even better as we managed to secure a pitch at the top of the site near to the Goods Shed with the railway line to the back of us. Being closer to the road would definitely have traffic noise.
The shower block was immaculate and the services were close by. The walk into town is only 15 minutes either by road or by the footpath and the Cotswold Way isn’t far away for keen walkers.
Christmas in Broadway is absolutely delightful; the trees, cottages and shops are bedecked with white lights giving a picturesque ambience. The Crown and Trumpet pub is most welcoming and extremely dog friendly, serving a good selection of real ales. The Horse and Hounds at the opposite end of the town is also worth visiting, again dog friendly. Budgens supermarket in the centre of the town is more than adequate. The Lygon Arms is certainly worth visiting ( dogs okay in bar area and small rooms adjacent) but we thought the food and service was disappointing for the price paid.
The wardens on site were very friendly, offering everyone the opportunity to join them for Festive nibbles and drink on Christmas Eve and this was much appreciated. We left site after the snowfall but the wardens had gritted the routeways so leaving wasn’t a problem.
The narrow strip for the dog area adjacent to the railway line isn’t large though it is perfectly secure adequate for a quick pit stop!
It is definitely one of our favourite sites and it will be further enhanced when the steam railway opens to Broadway during Easter 2018. We will definitely be returning.
Really nice, tidy well maintained site, short 10 minute stroll to the village of Broadway with lots of shops, cafe's, tea rooms and pubs!
The on site dog walk is rather small but adequate to take your dog to do it's business!!!
The top shower block that is located in an old station goods store is really quirky but only has 2 small shower cubicles so prepare to wait, however there are more facilities in a modern block further down the site.
Unfortunately due to a family emergency we had to depart early, the wardens were brilliant, especially Lyn!!! very understanding to our dilemma and refunded us for the night we couldn't stay!
The GWR is due to open Easter that runs adjacent to the site, which I imagine will be very popular!!
Great site, lovely location to the Cotswolds and surrounding areas, we've already booked to stay again!!
Stayed over Christmas where other members' efforts with their lights made it a very cheerful place to be. I can't praise the attitudes of the wardens enough as I had a really bad start to the holiday but they were really helpful.
Dog walkers are not well catered for and it's not the most central site for walking in general. It's limited by a 10+ minutes walk along Station Road one way, or along a permitted path adjacent to the railway line whilst dodging the dog mess! Once these two access routes are cleared, however, there are some really pleasant walks in the area. The GWR Broadway station is due to be in operation this year, I'm told, so a short walk will give access to a steam railway journey to Cheltenham. I will be back for that alone.
Nice site, dog walk a joke, glad to see less rules and regulations concerning dogs, since our last visit. Much improved access to lower toilet block from top of site, very enjoyable stay Xmas week, caravan festive lights were a treat, can't wait for railway to arrive, Shure to be back!
Spent Christmas week on site and really enjoyed our stay. Wardens were so friendly and helpful and their festive nibbles & drinks were welcomed by all on site on Christmas Eve. A warm welcome was received for us and our 5th Wheel. Site is well kept and facilities were spotless. Enjoyed walking into Broadway on a number of occasions to enjoy the festive spirit throughout the week. Despite the snow we were able to visit the beautiful surrounding Cotswold villages. Wardens were very helpful in booking us in for an extra night due to very icy conditions despite the site being very popular as New Year approached. Thank you.
