Lovely Christmas break

This was our third time (2013, 2015 previously) that we have spent a few days in Broadway over Christmas and, yet again, it did not disappoint. It was probably even better as we managed to secure a pitch at the top of the site near to the Goods Shed with the railway line to the back of us. Being closer to the road would definitely have traffic noise. The shower block was immaculate and the services were close by. The walk into town is only 15 minutes either by road or by the footpath and the Cotswold Way isn’t far away for keen walkers. Christmas in Broadway is absolutely delightful; the trees, cottages and shops are bedecked with white lights giving a picturesque ambience. The Crown and Trumpet pub is most welcoming and extremely dog friendly, serving a good selection of real ales. The Horse and Hounds at the opposite end of the town is also worth visiting, again dog friendly. Budgens supermarket in the centre of the town is more than adequate. The Lygon Arms is certainly worth visiting ( dogs okay in bar area and small rooms adjacent) but we thought the food and service was disappointing for the price paid. The wardens on site were very friendly, offering everyone the opportunity to join them for Festive nibbles and drink on Christmas Eve and this was much appreciated. We left site after the snowfall but the wardens had gritted the routeways so leaving wasn’t a problem. The narrow strip for the dog area adjacent to the railway line isn’t large though it is perfectly secure adequate for a quick pit stop! It is definitely one of our favourite sites and it will be further enhanced when the steam railway opens to Broadway during Easter 2018. We will definitely be returning.

Cotswolds Gem

Really nice, tidy well maintained site, short 10 minute stroll to the village of Broadway with lots of shops, cafe's, tea rooms and pubs! The on site dog walk is rather small but adequate to take your dog to do it's business!!! The top shower block that is located in an old station goods store is really quirky but only has 2 small shower cubicles so prepare to wait, however there are more facilities in a modern block further down the site. Unfortunately due to a family emergency we had to depart early, the wardens were brilliant, especially Lyn!!! very understanding to our dilemma and refunded us for the night we couldn't stay! The GWR is due to open Easter that runs adjacent to the site, which I imagine will be very popular!! Great site, lovely location to the Cotswolds and surrounding areas, we've already booked to stay again!!

Lovely site within walking distance of the village

Stayed over Christmas where other members' efforts with their lights made it a very cheerful place to be. I can't praise the attitudes of the wardens enough as I had a really bad start to the holiday but they were really helpful. Dog walkers are not well catered for and it's not the most central site for walking in general. It's limited by a 10+ minutes walk along Station Road one way, or along a permitted path adjacent to the railway line whilst dodging the dog mess! Once these two access routes are cleared, however, there are some really pleasant walks in the area. The GWR Broadway station is due to be in operation this year, I'm told, so a short walk will give access to a steam railway journey to Cheltenham. I will be back for that alone.

Lovely Restful Christmas

Spent Christmas week on site and really enjoyed our stay. Wardens were so friendly and helpful and their festive nibbles & drinks were welcomed by all on site on Christmas Eve. A warm welcome was received for us and our 5th Wheel. Site is well kept and facilities were spotless. Enjoyed walking into Broadway on a number of occasions to enjoy the festive spirit throughout the week. Despite the snow we were able to visit the beautiful surrounding Cotswold villages. Wardens were very helpful in booking us in for an extra night due to very icy conditions despite the site being very popular as New Year approached. Thank you.

Better than ever

We have not visited this site for a while and were pleasantly surprised by the improvements since. A number of fully serviced pitches have been added, one of which we utilised, the motorhome empty point is now with a full sized grating so you can just drive over and don't have to lift off the metal lids. Facilities as ever were spotless and very warm, much appreciated as the site was under about 4 inches of snow whilst we were there. Site was quiet due to the weather but as always the wardens were very obliging. Visited the Bell at Willesley for lunch and had a very pleasant meal.

Yet again another great break at Broadway

We generally visit the Broadway site in March each year as we like the atmosphere that comes with Cheltenham Gold Cup week, but as we can’t make it in 2018 we thought we’d take a break just before Christmas. As always the site facilities were spotless and the wardens were so helpful and accommodating. The site was very quiet when we arrived and despite the weather forecast it was virtually full by the weekend. Proof of the site’s popularity. Broadway is a lovely village and easy to walk to. And very dog friendly pubs and some cafes. Tisanes is particularly nice with scrummy cakes. We will be back if not next year hopefully in March 2019.

Great visit to Broadway

We had a great visit to Broadway CAMC Site last week. A really well kept site with very friendly and helpful site staff. It was great to see the 100 year old Wanderer Caravan housed in the top toilet block. Well worth a visit to this site which could very well turn into one of our favourites.

Another fantastic stay

Once again we visited the fabulous Broadway site to celebrate my wifes birthday. We have been here several times and love it more and more each time. The delights of Broadway itself on the doorstep, a lovely meal at the Swan just about made our weekend. But what made this all the more special were the wardens who were so approachable and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The blocks are cleaned at 2.00pm which is a refreshing change and takes the pressure off, especially on departure day so well done all. Fabulous decision. Today, our departure day, the snow hit which brought caravaners together as problems were solved and concerns about the onward journey were shared. Like minded folk and a club to be proud of. Well done all. 😊

Loved It...

Perfectly situated just a 15 minute walk from the lovely village of Broadway. As usual, good sized pitches, and well kept. A Wash Block in an old Railway Goods Shed with an added bonus of "The Wanderer" stored inside it. What a beautiful old Caravan, The wardens were first class as was the facilities. Our first time there, but it won't be our last.
