We have been coming to this site for over 15 years to visit relations twice a year. We only come for a week at a time without the awning because of the impossible task of putting in the pegs in the HARD standing pitches. We would love to come for 2 weeks at a time and bring the awning but it's not possible because we can't put pegs in. Over the the last 3/4 years the pitches have been renewed and this is when this problem started for us. If it wasn't for visiting relatives we wouldn't use this site for this reason. Yes CC please sort it. To make it one of the best sites on the network.
Fantastic; except!!
Stayed for three weeks May into June, been here quite a few times and it never disappoints, friendly & spotless. My major complaint is the same as one mentioned in a post on 30th March, the pitch itself, impossible to drive heavy duty pegs in even using a lump hammer, also provided with a chisel by staff to no avail, even tried to drill "pilot holes" after buying new drill bits but succeeded in ruining a perfectly good drill.
We have a large twin axle van with full awning requiring around 30 pegs but managed only 10, 4 of which were in the grass at the back. To their credit the staff did offer to help us move but having already put groundsheets (3) corner units & a wardrobe inplace plus the usual table & chairs it was just to much hassle. Come on Club sort it out before people start voting with there feet.
Great location for Madeira Drive event
The logistics of towing both our trailer caravan and the car trailer - complete with classic car - to Brighton for participation in the 30th London to Brighton Classic Car Run posed a challenge! Like, where to park !! The site wardens were most helpful and we were able to temporarily park the trailer on our pitch (instead of an awning!) when we took the classic (a 1967 Autobianchi Bianchina Berlina - small but beautiful!) to Greenwich for the start and after the event's finish on Madeira Drive. We'll be back!
Thank you !!

Three night stay
Only booked one night at the last minute. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and understanding when we said we wanted to stay for longer, even though it was fully booked. Managed to get a cancellation booking. Despite being full, the park was surprisingly quiet. The weather was fabulous. The toilet block and Motorhome facilities were impeccable. This was out fifth visit and definitely not the last.

Not so beastly in the east.
As it becomes ever more difficult to get into sites for short weekend breaks, we found ourselves for the first time in Brighton over the weekend that the mini-beast hit. Now Brighton is not actually a place we particularly like although I'm sure there is plenty there for those with kids, particularly those wth teenagers with the usual array of chain eateries, cinema etc at the Brighton Marina complex. But the walks available from the site onto the downs make it also worthwhile for those with dogs with good views easily in reach - not that we felt particularly inclined to linger with the icy wind and snow in our faces! What I will focus on though is the site. Usual high standards, favourable loo block closing times, radio in the blocks (hurrah, love it when they do) and friendly, welcoming and informative wardens. The only issue - trying to put an awning up. Even with the warden supplied tool, lump hammer and rock spikes it proved near impossible to get the awning pegged down and we gave up after only 6. Fortunately we only had our porch awning with us and were in a sheltered spot. Plenty of neighbours said theyd had to give up. Not sure why the pitches have been compressed to such a level but it would make us think again about returning unfortunately.
Cool Running
Arrived during the onslaught of the "mini beast from the east" with some degree of trepidation about our stay. Fortunately snow levels were minimal. Care should be taken on the approach road with a couple of sizeable potholes and a rather vicious 'sleeping policeman'. Negotiating the ones installed on site will shake the fillings out of your teeth, even if taken at crawling speed.
I am at a loss to understand why, having installed a wide grid for waste water on one of the motorhome points, a similar grid has not been installed on the second one.
first trip out in motorhome
As an experienced camper we chose to upgrade to a motor home and join the caravan and motor home club, this was our first time away in the motor home and to a club site. On arrival at the site we went into reception and were greeted by a friendly smile and welcome to the site by the wardens. We were given a comprehensive explanation of site procedures and the specific way to park on the pitch ( purely for safety reasons to give safe spaces in the unfortunate event of fire ). we found the wardens/staff on site to be very warm and helpful. As this was the first time in a motor home we were offered assistance if we required it. We used the facilities on site when we arrived they were immaculately clean and the sign on the door said they were due to be cleaned again within the hour. Once set up we chose to go for a walk via reception and were offered suggestions of where the best walks are, we chose to go to Brighton marina so was given the best directions there on paper so we didn't get lost. We feel this is an excellent site just a short distance from Brighton.
All year sit
Excellent site to visit any time of year. Only a short walk to the main bus routes so ideal for anyone who doesn’t want to use their car or motor home. And Lidl is within walking distance! Bus routes excellent so easy to visit city or further. Brighton itself is a buzzing vibrant city with something for everyone.
Excellent staff and facilities so thoroughly recommended.
