Still one of our favourite sites

Absolutely a fabulous site, can't fault anything, wardens cheerful and helpful, has normal toilets spotless, we always finish off at Bridlington in October good bracing walks along the cliffs and down into Devil's Dyke, great little Chippie in Sewbrey, see you later in the year.

What has the club done to this lovely site?

We have been regular visitors since this site opened and at our last visit noticed the young trees and bushes were starting to grow giving a degree of character and privacy. On this visit all the landscaping has been removed as dumped in the dog walk field. The site is now barren and without personality. Lots more grass (and fluttering tape) for children to play football and ride bikes on. What an utter waste of member's money. No wonder prices have risen so dramatically. How long before the wonderful radio and underfloor heating are pulled from the shower block! Bridlington was for us becoming special now it's becoming just like all the others - pretty predictable. Maybe if this continues we will have to consider that 'other' club. Thanks to the wardens for a love if disappointing stay.

Comment from the Club:

Many thanks for your review. We are sorry that you had some concerns on you most recent stay and would like to clear up any confusion. The landscaping that has taken place on site was to improve the general appearance of the site. The mounds of earth that were covered in brash and thistles have been flattened and turfed, these areas have been cordoned off with tape temporarily to stop people walking on the new turf until it settles. Please be assured there are also plans to replant a few trees and possibly hedges. The brash and cleared undergrowth has been put along one edge of the dog walk. This was in the area that grass clippings were left already so we would like to reassure you that it has had no added impact and the dog walk remains the same nice space for dogs to run. Just to put members minds at ease there are also no plans to get rid of the under floor heating or the music in the toilet block. We hope that this clears up any confusion and that everyone continues to enjoy their stay at this lovely site. The wardens hope to welcome you again soon.

Nice site

Very nice well maintained site. Quiet for this time of year. Recommend the farm shop around the corner. Fully serviced pitch makes all the difference.

We'll be back

Have to agree with other positive comments, particularly how good the wardens are. As soon as we pulled on to our pitch the warden was by the side of us. In the past over-fussy wardens have been there to make sure you get to the required number of millimetres away from the peg, and I half-expected a similar approach. But no. He actually offered and gave assistance to push our van to the correct position. Thank you! We were disappointed with the local farm shop which did not have a great choice of produce commonly seen in other farm shops. Pubs wise, the best local is The Ship just a mile or so away, but the best one we found was in the Old Town, the Bull and Sun. Top marks to them, also helped by being dog-friendly as well. Great location of the site for days out to Whitby, Beverley and Hull, not to mention Bridlington itself and Scarborough and Filey. Next time we're due to visit the East Coast again we'll be back here!

Well organised, well run site.

A very pleasant site, located mid way between Bridlington and Flamborough. The warden was very friendly and helpful. We found it peaceful, apart from piped Radio 2 music in the toilet/ shower block. There is a very handy farm shop nearby, for breakfasts and snacks.

A pleasant site

The warden was very helpful when we booked and all was as promised when we arrived. It's a bit bleak but there is lots of fairly recent tree planting that will soften the appearance over the next few years. The welcome is very friendly and the site is well managed, clean and comfortable. Nearby pubs include the Martonian (a sports pub) in Marton and The Ship Inn in Sewerby. We much preferred the latter, more traditional with excellent food and friendly service. I can recommend this site for its facilities and its location. I have no idea whether it's good for families and I marked it down for peace and quiet because we were on a pitch quite near the office and people seemed to sped ages chatting by our van. I'd visit again.

Lots to do in the area around the Bridlington site.

First stayed at this site shorty after it first opening in 2011; nice to re-visit and see how the vegetation and bushes have matured and softened the site over the years. Hardstanding spacious pitches over three areas of this site with central toilet block. Surprising for a new site the gents toilets only have three WC’s – totally inadequate for the size of the site! Very friendly wardens and useful information room with a helpful tip that the site has an arrangement with the adjacent golf course that allows members to access the coastal footpath via the golf course. This avoids a 1 mile walk along the busy B1255 Flamborough Road. The sign at the access to the golf course states there in no access to the coastal path (this is not the case, but it avoids the path being adopted as a public footpath!). Marton Manor farm is a 10 minute walk from the site and provides very nice afternoon tea for 2 for £ 12.99. Sewerby Hall and gardens is 1 ½ miles from the site and worth visiting as is Bridlington Priory and The Bayle Museum near the Old Town (3 ½ miles from the site). Crosiers butches in the Old Town supplies excellent quality meat, and the owner is both friendly and helpful. Bempton Cliffs and the RSPB site located 3 miles North of the site provides a cliff top home for numerous seabirds. Access to the sanctuary is free if you are Caravan Club members and remember to bring your membership card with you. Flamborough Head is 3 miles East of the site with its old and new lighthouse. Lots of things to do and see in this area, plenty of quite lanes to cycle on and coastal walks plus for those who like a traditional seaside break Bridlington with its North and South beaches, amusement arcades and numerous fish and chip shops.

Lovely site

Stayed here in early March, the first time we'd visited Bridlington site. Good layout, super facilities that are very clean and well maintained (under floor heating in the showers, lovely!), good wifi reception. The wardens were very friendly and helpful. It was too wet to use the dog walk but it looked great, and there was an easy alternative at the front of the site. Some interesting places to visit, good walking and lovely sandy beaches. Near but not too close to Bridlington for supermarkets and fish & chips so easy but quiet and relaxing. This site is firmly on our list of places to return to.
