Roadside site

This site is immaculate and well maintained, unfortuanately the proximity of the sitevto the busy A470 and the A40 causes road noise to be a problem especially at night and in the early hours, unbeknown to us there is also a military firing range within half a mile, and hearing automatic fire during the day from your pitch is quite unnerving in this day and age. What a pitty!

Brocon Beacons Site

Excellent site for families with soft play on the doorstep. All facilities superbly maintained and of an extremely high standard. Access is very easy being just off the main road with plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. Will definitely be going back.

Great location for the Brecon Beacons

This is a large site and is an excellent base for touring the Beacons. We took our bikes and had an idyllic day cycling the canal path to TalyBont, and a walk into Brecon along the canal path in the opposite direction. The showers and loos were immaculate and the wardens friendly and very helpful, directing us to the fabulous 4 waterfalls walk near Ystradfellte which should not be missed. The only down side to our visit was the very poor radio reception, the hopelessly unreliable WiFi, and the annoying route out of the site from our pitch. We were in 134 on grass, as far from the roads as possible and close to the shower block, but the route out of the site took us all over the place on arrowed roads which seemed to end up back where we started. It would help enormously if there were simple signs saying "Exit This Way". Please check this out, wardens.

A good site, but!

Pros: Good facilities Easy walk along the canal to Brecon, or Pencelli. Nice pub within walking distance. (The Three Horseshoes). Cons: The site is situated at the junction of 2 main roads (A40 & A470) so road noise is a problem. Laundry charges excessive. The serviced sites (for which you pay a premium) are in the shade, nearest to the roads.

September Holiday

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a 2 week holiday. The welcome from the wardens was not as pleasant as other sites - they seemed to be busy but at other times were helpful. Other comments have said about road noise but we had a quiet spot and the wardens did advise us where the quieter pitches were. Pitches are fairly roomy and all hardstanding, we did have a fully serviced pitch for ease of water top-ups. The site facilities are excellent - the bathrooms being the best I have seen. Cannot comment on family facilities as we didn't have children with us. Good for dogs and do follow the signs to the local pub as the food is excellent. As it is uphill you get great views when walking back down. We stopped on the way in Brecon itself for shopping but didn't park in the supermarket carpark as it was too tight for our motorhome though there is nearby carpark with big spaces. You can walk from the site into Brecon along the canal. We had amazing weather which helps. While we were there (not in school holidays)the site was very busy so best to book in plenty of time.

Great site for first timers

Our stay was absolutely brilliant. We are complete novices but this didn't matter the wardens they helped us get the best pitch to ease us in and couldn't help us anymore they gave us all the information we needed and we cannot wait to go back again this week. The site has everything we need for a family from parks to extremely clean washrooms. We are so glad we have joined the caravan club and because of this site we will be staying in more to come thank you Brecon.

Great Week Away

Our first time to this site and I have to say we are very pleased we went there. Yes the road is a little loud if you pitch that side but to be honest it was not an issue. Wardens all very nice and friendly which was great and the shop very well stocked. Grounds were looking really great which must have been a challenge for the wardens due to the rain they have had, so well done. The dog walk is excellent and a nice stream on it which our dogs loved and had a great time swimming in it. I would recommend going to the Gower and the beaches there as it was amazing. the mountains and hills around the site are stunning and well worth a walk or drive. My only suggestion would be can dog pooh bins be located around the site more for when accidents happen and we need to dispose of the evidence!! There is a lovely big playing field for kids which I can imaging is full when children are there on holidays. all in all a good and well run site.

Well done the wardens of 2016

My wife and I rate this site as the best we have stayed on. The cleanliness and overall appearance of this site apart from it's fantastic natural setting is an example to set for every site. The wardens work so hard and keep everything in a pristine condition everytime we visit. It is a boon to have the choice of a "service" pitch as it does away with carrying water to and fro. I rate the current wardens [2016] as fantastic.
