Excellent Autumn Break

Stayed for a weekend with my two young children (9&7). Spotless facilities, clean spacious and very well presented grounds. Excellent shop. Great large space and playground for kids to play in. Added bonus discovering the path down to the stream and onto a local pub.  Site lose to the tow path of the canal where we spend two separate days cycling along however it was a bit of a hazard to cross over the busy roads leading to the path. Will definitely be back in the new year when more light and hopefully dry and warm weather will allow me to use this fantastic site as a base to explore the beautiful countryside.

Wow. Fab site

Best site we have stayed on.  Toilet block exceptionally clean and brand new.  Shop, staff and cleanliness of site excellent.  Pitches are large. Great location for discovering Brecon Beacons' many towns and villages.  Pub 10 minutes walk away which serves very tasty food.  This area is a must to visit. We will be back.

A Welcome In The Hillside

This site is an absolute charm, the staff are very welcoming and friendly. The toilet & shower facilities are first class & even when some of the club members left the toilets in a bit of a state the staff were at hand to clean up after them. The baby /child changing area was fantastic with a small bath with a seat as part of the bath which our 19 month old son enjoyed enormously, again this area was spotlessly clean. The pitches were well maintained and selecting to stay on the left hand side of the site which was advised by the reception staff as the quieter area due to the two main roads that border the site was well received and appreciated. There is a soft play barn next door to the site which is £3 per child for 2 hours but if it's quiet as it was when we stayed our son was able to stay and play all afternoon. It's a short walk (about a mile) from the site along the canal to Brecon town centre, but you do have to cross the 2 main roads via the pavements to access the canal footpath. A great site for accessing the many attractions in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Well worth a visit.

Watch the weeds

We keep returning to this site and love it. It is such a beautiful location and the site is fantastic. The staff are great and the facilities are first class - clean and well set out. The on site shop is a little wonder and stocks all you may need at reasonable prices. It is only a short time since the site was fully refurbished and the standard was very high. It is a shame that after this last visit we came away worried about the slight fall in the appearance of certain things. accepting it is near the end of the season but there can be no excuses. There was weeds growing quite high around the footpath to the toilet blocks, the grass did not seem to cut as precisely as previously and the guttering to the toilet block was leaking in several places. I hope these things are sorted for next year or things will be seen to be slipping! The army did its best to give our dog a nervous breakdown with three days of target practice but other than that we had a great time.

A great site in an amazing location

This was our second visit to Brecon and certainly not the last. The site is easy to drive to and find, and has a great wide entry. The warden team do a fantastic job in presenting the site at a very high standard and exceptionally clean faculties - they feel almost as good as the bathroom at home! The views from around the site are just so awesome one never tires of them, even when the clouds are down on the top of the mountains. An easy walk into Brecon along the canalside, and a great location for visiting other places. Be sure to take a trip on the canal to see the aquaduct and go to Big Pit to gain an experience of Welsh Mining from the guys who actually worked down below ground and are your guides when you take the cage down to the coal face. Will be back again next season, thanks to the Brecon Team

Happy Days in Brecon

As mentioned, be prepared for the road noise, but otherwise a fabulous site located just a short walk from the town centre along the canal path. A warm welcome from the wardens. Clean and tidy facillities. No wifi on site when we were staying which was disappointing. A very enjoyable stay. Thank you!

Roadside site

This site is immaculate and well maintained, unfortuanately the proximity of the sitevto the busy A470 and the A40 causes road noise to be a problem especially at night and in the early hours, unbeknown to us there is also a military firing range within half a mile, and hearing automatic fire during the day from your pitch is quite unnerving in this day and age. What a pitty!

Brocon Beacons Site

Excellent site for families with soft play on the doorstep. All facilities superbly maintained and of an extremely high standard. Access is very easy being just off the main road with plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. Will definitely be going back.

Great location for the Brecon Beacons

This is a large site and is an excellent base for touring the Beacons. We took our bikes and had an idyllic day cycling the canal path to TalyBont, and a walk into Brecon along the canal path in the opposite direction. The showers and loos were immaculate and the wardens friendly and very helpful, directing us to the fabulous 4 waterfalls walk near Ystradfellte which should not be missed. The only down side to our visit was the very poor radio reception, the hopelessly unreliable WiFi, and the annoying route out of the site from our pitch. We were in 134 on grass, as far from the roads as possible and close to the shower block, but the route out of the site took us all over the place on arrowed roads which seemed to end up back where we started. It would help enormously if there were simple signs saying "Exit This Way". Please check this out, wardens.
