Staying in the Cotswolds

First time staying in the Cotswolds. This site is lovely. Ideal for that peaceful time away. Plenty of places to visit not far from the site. The couple looking after the place are both friendly and helpful. They keep it clean and tidy. Would visit this site again.

peacful stopover

We booked onto the site for 1 night on our return from Cornwall. It doesn't have a toilet block but that doesn't deter us. £12 for overnight is very good value. You do need your car as there isn't many if any walks from the site. We went into Bourton on the Water for the afternoon. It is a beautiful place, and as it was a hot sunny day it was packed with people visiting. It is a typical Cotswold village, with interesting buildings. I would use the site again for a short stay, not sure for a long stay as I prefer a site where you can leave your car behind. Good value for money. A well maintained site.

BRING BACK DOGS ON LEADS SIGNS

One of the best sites, who needs expensive toilet blocks.Have been here many times over the years and as always the wardens are very friendly, but as with all sites since dogs on leads signs were abolished nearly all the dogs were OFF leads my chihuahuas have been attacked previously and I myself was mauled by a German Shepherd years ago.Of course according to the owners  it's never done that before,so come on Caravan club & Wardens please enforce the rules of the club dogs under control and on a secure lead at all times

Lovely quiet site - pity its not full service

Just had a three day stopover here, a lovely site with very friendly wardens. The site is really well situated for exploring the Cotswolds. Bourton has a nice range of small shops and an excellent chip shop! Highly recommended - bear in mind there is no toilet block.

Peaceful site with good views

We have just returned after spending 4 days at Bourton. It was the first time we had been there and set up nosing in and facing towards the fields and rolling Cotswold hills - a lovely view. On chatting to the very friendly and helpful warden he called this part of the site 'the balcony'. The site is not cramped up and there are some some great walks straight from the site and round about with some maps and advice supplied by the wardens. They also sell newspapers on site, which is a bonus as it is 4 miles into Bourton shops. There are three dog friendly pubs in the area (all oldy worldy) The best is 'Hollow Bottom' at Guiting Power (about 3 miles away) http://hollowbottom.com/ The site is similar in size and type to Stamford which has WiFi yet this site doesn't...Come on caravan Club install it!

Peace and quite

A great site with good access to the main tourist villages in the Cotswolds.  The wardens were very friendly and keep the site in very good condition.   A bonus was the walk with my two boys along the old railway track bed from the bottom end of the site. A site well worth a visit...

Basic site

Just had a 3 night break as a first visit to this site. Firstly, I would need to describe the location as remote, and 4 miles outside the town. So every trip involves driving. There are no facilities other than service points and an aerial booster. If you are looking for tranquil isolation then this is perfect, but we prefer a little bit of activity.

Great Cotswold Touring Base

Been here a number of times over the years and watched it develop and mature.  It is quiet and a great and in-expensive place to stay to tour this part of the Cotswolds.  Cheltenham, Bourton and Stow are all just down the road.  Walking directly from the site is difficult because of the road.  However, there is some great walking to be had in the area.  Adam Henson's Cotswold Farm Park and the Gloucestershire/Warwickshire Railway are also within easy reach.  Highly recommended - and the wardens are really helpful.
