Tranquility

We have visited this site on previous occasions and always been well satisfied. However on this occasion, although the other wardens have been very good, I must compliment the current wardens. They were friendly, cheerful and extremely helpful. I had a problem with my caravan fridge during my stay and they could not have tried to assist any more than they did, thank you. The site is in the most picturesque part of the Cotswolds and ideally located for visiting the many towns and villages in the area. My rating for 'good for families' is only at 3 due to there being no toilet block; whilst this does not inconvenience myself and my wife, it may be a problem for families with young children who require this facility.

Nice tidy site.

The site is very well organised and the pitches are big.  There was a nice welcome at reception. I didn't realise there were no toilet facilities (my fault for not reading website properly). This was not a problem but no children's play area was limiting for families so I would suggest the site squeeze a climbing frame and slide in somewhere. Good dog walking trail through the woods. Our neighbours were noisy at nights but that's not the sites fault.

we arrived at the site and found the person on reception a bit stand offish and not very welcoming. There are no good walks around the site and the road at the site is a main road and we felt unsafe to walk along and the site is a good distance from bourton

Last Minute Booking

Weren't originally going to this site but so pleased that we did go there in the end. In a lovely part of the Cotswolds with fantastic views. The pitches are of a very good size and well spaced out. Both the wardens and the volunteer wardens were very helpful, friendly and had a good sense of humour. On booking it was made very clear to us that it was a site without toilet facilities but that didn't bother us as we are quite happy to use our own and didn't detract from how great the site is. Will certainly be going back hopefully in the near future.

One of the friendliest site we have been on

This was our second visit to this site and very entertaining, due to the friendliness of the visitors on site. The relief wardens were excellent and couldn't do enough for us. If you are in a motorhome the only drawback is the infrequent bus service. No buses into Bourton on the Water until 12.15pm. Will definitely be going back.

It's not in Bourton on the Water!

This is a quiet and peaceful site. It is very clean and well maintained. The Staff and visitors were all very friendly. Ideal if you want a quiet overnight stop. The only issue is its location. It is about 4 miles from Bourton on the Water. It is completely isolated and so if you are staying in a motorhome getting around will be an issue. The main road makes access easy, but also makes walking from the sight quite dangerous as there are no footpaths leading from the site.

Nice place but could have been friendlier

We stayed at this site for one night as a bit of a last minute thing. It was the first Caravan Club site we had stayed at since joining this year and only the 2nd time we had been away in our new caravan. The site is lovely and set in beautiful countryside. The absence of facilities wasn't a big issue for one night even though we have a 3 year old and a 2 year old. However this definitely isn't a site that is ideal for kids and the customer age profile when we were there reflected that. We had a nice time generally but it was spoilt a bit by the grumpy attitude of the warden who told us off for allowing our friends to park their car in a plot that was empty when we arrived and remained empty the entire time that we were there. Later he refused to let them out of the site gate when they wanted to go home just after 8 o'clock. I'm not sure what he thought they were going to do. Sleep all night in their car with a three year old? It was a bit petty and soured what should have been a nice relaxing weekend.

Worth a stay

The very friendly wardens made us feel special and welcome. The site was very clean and we have no complaints at all. Will use it again.

Nice site but Bird scarer in Farmers Field upset our Dog.

We stayed for one night in July 2015, during the day time we could hear the sound of what sounded like a shotgun going off in a nearby field. This was too much for our timid Greyhound. We took this as a bird scarer which off course the club had no control over. Just to bear in mind if your woof is of a timid nature. Staff were very understanding.

Nice site but dissapointed

just had a weekend at the site but I didn't read the small print, what a very nice site with good wardens keeping it nice and clean, but with a site of this size and out in the country side there are no toilet/shower blocks, this is such a shame I am sure that this would put caravanners going or even visiting again because it does us. so its a nice site but not for us unless its got a toilet block. sorry caravan club you need to spend some money on this one
