Peaceful site.

We spent 11 nights on this site and we will return. We like sites without toilet blocks as they tend to be quieter. This site was well laid out within the area available and was kept beautifully. The wardens were very helpful and friendly. The surrounding area has lovely villages and NT properties to explore.

Nice site, no facilities

Lovely peaceful site in the Cotswolds. Bourton on the Water as a title is a bit misleading as it's about 5 miles from there-closer to Naunton. No facilities on site, but we knew this would be the case-not sure why but it would enhance the experience of staying there if there were showers and toilets. We're keen walkers, so were a bit disappointed to find you need to walk down the busy A436 to get on to the nearest footpath. Nevertheless it was an enjoyable stay-very relaxing.

No Trouble!

We arrived on site as complete newbies and left having been educated! - Well almost.  Being new to motorhome ownership we decided to use this site as it looked welcoming and it is not too far from us. Perfect for a first weekend away gaining experience. Booking in on arrival was warm and welcoming and the assistance we received from the warden was exemplary. He showed us the ropes and nothing was too much trouble. We had a slight hitch with hooking up and he was even prepared to find is electrical testing kit but managed to solve the problem for us without it being required. We feel that this willingness to assist goes well beyond what we would reasonably expect and we will be sure to visit this site again.

Really enjoyable!

What a delightful place - peaceful, rural and pretty. As the site is on a Beeching railway station, it's long and relatively thin, but even when full it doesn't feel too crowded. It's beautifully kept and pleasant to sit out in. Beware the no awning pitches if you want a bit of grass adjacent to your van. It's tarmac area for the 6 vans. Site is very close to lovely Cotswold towns and there's loads to do and see. Tip :if you want to walk any footpaths take secateurs with you. The wardens are the epitome of how one would want them to be, friendly helpful and pleasantly cheerful.

Nice Site Bad Experience

Weekend at Bourton on the water. We Expected to arrive as normal, be greeted and choose a pitch. However we arrived at 6:30pm well within the times shown when booking and right in the middle of the time we said we would arrive. After calling the warden from her caravan as the office was closed we were greeted with 'did you have Traffic problems'! We booked in and on looking at my membership card she said 'oh newbies' (as if we didn't known what we were doing). I replied well we have only been members of the CC for one year and this is our second year. However we have visited many sites. We were then informed that she had been a warden for 16 years. We were then told that she had allocated us a pitch as the site was fully booked. Ok we said, by now we just wanted a pitch. We drove to the pitch passing many vacant pitches so couldn't understand the allocation. On the positive the site was very quiet. We will not be returning here again though.

cotswold gem

This site is very well kept and clean. The wardens are keen and very helpful. Not a site where children would be very happy but older adults love it.

Well maintained and friendly Club site

We visited in July 2016, not for the first time. The site has no toilet facilities but is a wonderfully maintained sight with friendly and accommodating wardens. Many Cotswold walks can be done locally, although those directly from the site are minimal. Local villages are plentiful but you will need to take your car. We will return.

Great Stay

My wife, our 2 labradoodles and myself have just got home form a great stay at the Bourton on the Water site, overall we really enjoyed our stay, as always there are some positives and negatives wherever you decide to stay, so for us the postives were; A friendly welcome, with a good explanation of where we could pitch and the pro's & con's of each pitch, so could not ask for more on that one. The site is kept very clean and the grass areas & hedges well maintained, there is a dog walk from the site as well so our 'children' were catered for which is always good. The downside of the dog walk however is not down to the site or the wardens but other club members who allow their dogs to foul without clearing it up, its a dog walk ..not a dogs toilet! The site is listed as Bourton on Water but is actually around 4 miles from the village, not a problem for us but its not a safe walk, so plan to drive in. Bourton itself is a very nice Cotswold village with plenty of pubs, eateries, and coffee shops so well worth a visit. Ended up staying for a couple of weeks as we were enjoying ouselves so much, a great site with helpful but not intrusive wardens who are doing a great job, so thank you to them and the club from the Gillings - we will be back!

Very Quiet Site

Very nice quiet site immaculately clean and pleasant staff. However there are no facilities on the site so personally wouldn't want to stay longer than the one night we did as I prefer a site with toilets and shower blocks and plenty going on.
