>Excellent quiet site.

This was our first visit to the site. With an Autotrail highline motorhome we were a little concerned by the Bolton Abbey Arch. Fear not, just line yourself up straight and proceed slowly through the arch. There is only a couple of cm's clearance either side on the wing mirrors, but the height is fine so long as you do not have a satellite dome on top. The site is amazing and both the relief and normal wardens were very friendly and helpful. You can walk for miles through the estate either side of the river, the two tea rooms at Strid and Cavendish pavilion are both good. We will definitely be back

Great staycation

This is only my second stay on a site with my motorhome and what a stay it was from start to finish, i loved every second Laurence and Yvonne who are the wardens come across as very caring and very helpful and they will do anything to make your stay enjoyable.I havnt done much in the way of motorhoming since getting the motorhome on the 22nd of march 2020 then covid hit so couldnt go out in her till just now june 2021 so i didnt know what to expect i did camping as a kid but still not really knowing what to do or where to go but i neednt of worried as Laurence and Yvonne helped me so much and thankyou to them for being there , the site is really clean and well maintained from grass to rubbish removal from the recycling area and site areas are spotless my only downside was wifi was nill and tv signal was nil untill i purchased a tv aerial wire which i plugged into the sites free tv booster ( yes i paid for the wire but thats my fault for not buying one before i left ) then we could watch the tv the wifi is a different story no signal on that or mobile phone even with my own dongle (which also didnt work ) i then resorted into using the sites wifi which wasnt cheap at £3.50 for 24 hours and wasnt fast at all , i can do without many things but wifi isnt one of them , apart from that all was well and enjoyed the quiet and the banter with the other campers they are some lovely people .I am no walker but my wife said to me we are walking to Bolton Abbey and im so glad i remembered how to walk further than to the fridge because is was really nice and out in the sun and fresh air was really rewarding .Enjoyed the whole 4 days i was there and will be back again this year some time once i get the feeling back in my feet after a 6 mile walk ….. Give it a try get rid of the Covid cobwebs and enjoy

Great stopover

We stopped for 2 nights after travelling Scotland and was greeted by very helpful wardens, unfortunately no access to 4g and u will need to purchase the clubs WiFi which was a bit hit and miss and u need to have a long aerial or can purchase from site to beable to watch TV. Lovely clean wash rooms and toilets etc, this campsite is on a huge estate with lots of walks, tea rooms and ice cream hut, ideal for families and couple. Unfortunately unable to use a bike on the estate grounds but take your walking shoes and can walk all directions for hours. Absolutely loved it here and would recommend and return.

Lovely setting

Spent 3 nights here recently. The site is perfect if all you want to do is walk. Footpaths galore, direct from the site! Good clean facilities and friendly wardens. The site is surrounded by trees and has quite a number within the site boundary. As on many sites the trees could do with some cutting back. We will return.

My favourite site.

The Bolton Abbey Estate Site is in a spectacular location and, because of this, it’s always going to be regarded as a good site to visit for most people. Woodland walks by the river to cafes, pubs and restaurants is as good a way as any to while away the day for lovers of the great outdoors. The wardens (Laurence and Yvonne) are absolutely superb and they will always go out of their way to provide help and advice when requested which is what helps make the site particularly special for me.

A lovely part of the UK

A lovely well managed site hidden away. Very peaceful and ideally located for some beautiful walks and cycle rides. I can’t really say anymore except it’s definitely a place to go.

Beautiful site set amongst mature trees with abundant bird life.

Fantastic two night stay - only stay I’ve been able to book with the Caravan and Motorhome Club so far for 2021 and only site I managed to book last year. Yvonne couldn’t have been more helpful in terms of fitting me in for two nights instead of the original one night booking is managed to secure by chance. So very grateful to her for managing to do so - not easy, I know. Both Yvonne and Laurence are friendly, welcoming and helpful - and work their socks off to make this site such a wonderful one where we can have a break in relative “normality” in these ongoing crazy times. Thank you so much. Excellent, peaceful walks straight from the site along the river towards Bolton Abbey or in the opposite direction to Appletreewick. And wonderful showers where you adjust the heat yourself! Fab!

Good Garden Near The Site

Having just returned from this site other visitors may like to know about Parcevall Hall Gardens which I've not seen mentioned on other recent reviews. The garden is only a few miles north of the site and has extensive plant interest and far reaching views at very reasonable cost (only £7, £6 concessions). Take note of the garden map before leaving the car park as there is more to the garden than first meets the eye. It's a sloping site with woodland walks, formal garden around the Hall, and an extensive rock and water garden. The latter leads up to a lovely view over a dry valley surrounded by wild flowers. Well worth a visit.

Simply - Love It Here!

Having just completed our 3rd visit to Bolton Abbey Estate Site in 4 years, all I can do is give you a 100% recommendation. The warden staff are always friendly and helpful. The site is beautifully situated and the access to the Abbey Estate and walks along the River Wharfe is simple and an absolute must. Bolton Abbey itself can be very busy at times but at the site you are beyond the issue and can leave the car parks there to those not staying close by! Many of the reviews on here go into the beauty of the surroundings and detail things to do but all I would just like to say that this site has always delivered for us. Generally, quiet with regular visits from Peacocks and various species of ducks, along with a plethora of wild (albeit quite tame!) birds. Beautiful walks are but a few minutes away and provide an absolute treasure trove of wildlife and natural beauty. Whilst there is no designated play area (that I am aware of) for the younger visitors, the setting provides ample opportunity to fill their lungs with fresh air! A beautiful part of the country, a lovely and well-run site, good pitches, and you really are at the gateway to the beauty in store of the Yorkshire Dales. As far as services go, Skipton is about 15 minutes away and you get everything you could possibly need there. Will there be visits number 4, 5 and 6? I sincerely hope so! Thanks to all, a marvellous site, location, and above all holidays.
