Good layout of site and facilities up to usual standard, but a word of warning. Arrive early as pitches at the bottom of the site close to the main road ARE noisy! A consideration, if you are a light sleeper or have young family. Other than that, no problems, great for visiting Leek, Buxton and surrounding areas.
Weekend away
Lovely site a credit to the wardens who keep everything in first class condition excellent dog walk spacious pitches lovely countryside

Lovely site
Just returned from a 3 night stay, it was our second visit and it was just as friendly and as clean as before. most of the pitches are a good size and some are divided by hedges, the play area is small but adequate and very well kept. We will definitely return to Blackshaw moor.
10th -14th April
Decided to stay here for 4 nights over Easter (with Wife, Child(4yrs old), and 16 week puppy.
Overall, cannot fault the site as it met full expectations. Children's play area, dedicated dog walk, wifi, and basic shop all brill.
Needed additional rock pegs and staff were on hand to assist. Facilities (toilet block) excellent and will definitely return. Site is conveniently situated to visit leek (3 miles) where we obtained the best fish & chips (& peas) that we have ever tasted!
Only gripe (well I say gripe but more of an annoyance) was a chap (visitor) who asked me why did I pitch the van like I did? I really didn't understand as I am still relatively new to caravanning, however he meant because it wasn't level. I answered that we arrived (extremely tired) and pitched it like that as it didn't bother us (only slightly on slope). He smiled and walked away, but I felt a little embarrassed which put a little dampener on things. As I said, we don't go out of way to get everything exact (levelness etc.) as long as we are comfortable!

Relaxing and enjoyable Easter Break
I would highly recommend this site to any member. Excellent location with magnificent views across to the Peak District.
The site is immaculate with good access from all routes and is within easy reach of Buxton, and Alton Towers. Tittesworth Reservoir is a place to visit as is Rudyard Lake.
There are several good eateries local to the site and I would particularly recommend the Winking Man, good food, excellent real ale and reasonably priced.

Great site
Had a wonderful break at this extremely well kept site. The wardens were the most helpful and friendly people we gave ever gad the pleasure to meet. Nothing was too much trouble.
The pitches were large and we'll maintained and the facilities clean and tidy.
The only downside was the traffic noise but as long as you can pitch away from the road side it wasn't too much if a problem. Would definately go again.
Busy but still enjoyable
We arrived when the site had only a few pitches left out of 89 hardstandings, and at first I was disappointed with our pitch backing onto the main road. I need not have worried though, the road really wasn't too noisy, although we could hear the old speed junkie driving crazily fast up the main road . The site is immaculate and the facilities block always warm-rather small though-a queue for a shower developed every morning. The wardens are friendly and recommended good walks-beware cattle grids if walking across the hills behind the site-you can't get through unless you can carry your dogs across. The dog walk was welcome, and the bark chipping helpful because it was very muddy-just a few more to finish the path please!! We will definitely be back-and will arrive early next time-aim for a pitch high up at the back of the site if you can.

Relaxing Easter Break
First visit to Blackshaw Moor & it won't be our last. Wardens friendly & site in lovely condition, toilet blocks spotlessly clean.
Good walks in area, especially from the site to The Roaches & Hen Cloud, which give excellent views of the area. A walk following public footpaths through fields takes you into Leek in about 1.5 hours. Buxton 20mins by car.
Cannot comment on TV reception as always use satellite dish when on site. However on top level of site, nobody complained about TV reception to my knowledge.
Two pubs within easy walking distance, prefer The Rock myself as The Three Horseshoes staff were not very welcoming and the food did not inspire. There are several good pubs in the centre of Leek, but public transport is not very good, about 4/5 buses per day. The last bus back to the site leaves leek at 16.23!!
Overall a very nice few days in the Peak area.
A good site for a restful weekend break
We have not visited this site before and were pleasantly surprised by the location with its view of the Roaches and the nice spacious well laid out site. Generally few complaints ; only the slippy and muddy dog walk where the spreading of wood chippings had been abandoned before completing the whole path and the poor tv reception. Apparently, there was water in the bollards. However, the wifi worked perfectly so not too bad. Will definitely return.

First outing
We chose Blackshaw Moor for our first outing, and we're not disappointed. The staff were excellent, the facilities clean and well presented in a beautiful part of the Peak District
