Excellent location, clean site.

As the title suggests the site is in a brilliant location only 5 minutes from the main Blackpool strip. My husband arrived on site 1 hour before official check in time and the lady was most unhelpful telling him (with 2 young children) to turn the caravan around and park in Tescos for the hour as he was early. Now whilst I know this, for a start he didn't know how long it would take him to travel with the traffic especially as its illuminations season. Secondly with 2 young children and traveling alone (I was joining him later on) surely it would of been kinder to let him onto a pitch. The site was half empty so it wasn't like he was stopping anyone from leaving. I have to say I was extremely impressed with the cleanliness of the site and both the toilet block and small park where great. However I cant help but feel disappointed in our club as we are supposed to be a members club. Overall the site was nice and in a brilliant location.

Excellent site but

We have now visited several times over the past four years and will be returning next year.  We really like the site and find the staff helpful.  Biggest drawback is no dog walk.  We agree with the Club rules about dog fouling etc but taking two lively dogs off site on to a very busy road with no proper pavements borders on suicidal.  Pitches 49, 50 and 51 are very rarely used when we have visited.  This area could be fenced off with the usual dog walk gate, bins, rules etc giving peace of mind to dog owners and, hopefully, making life easier for the warden staff!!! I will write to the Club to determine the official line on the possibility of this, given budgets etc.  Sadly, I think the current situation is a tragedy waiting to happen.

Good Times at Blackpool South

Well this was the 4th time this year we have stayed here and we love it. If the weather is bad there is lots to do and see, but this site seems to have it's own climate it has always been good weather. Just down the road is a fabulous farm shop with camping and caravan shop and other attractions the food they serve ans sell is first rate, excellent value produce. The wardens and all the staff at Blackpool South are superb and always very helpful and friendly they keep on top of everything, the toilet blocks are first rate. The showers are very good with a proper on-off control none of those annoying push button flow controllers that stay on for a microsecond. First class place will be there agin next year.

Great for a visit to the illuminations

We came here for one night with a view to seeing the illuminations. Whilst the roads nearby would not be great to cycle along, we drove the short distance to the coast and parked nearby. This is one end of the lights. Got our folding bikes out, hooked the children's trailer on the back and off we went - definitely the way to see the lights! Nice smallish site. Great fish and chips van on the Saturday. No queues but really good - nice treat! The wardens at the site were friendly to us, no problems. Would come again.

Report

We stayed for a long weekend in our Motorhome. The site is not ideal for a motorhome user as the bus stops in any direction are over a mile away and the route involved either crossing a dual carriageway or walking down country lanes without pavements. The site overall was very good. We did not leave the site with our motorhome until departing and stopped to hand over the keys. Unfortunately it was not explained to us on entry that the key only opened the barrier on the way in and that it opened automatically on the way out. We tried to use the key to open the barrier to leave the site and opened the In barrier in error. This caused an uncalled for very irate rant from a member of staff. Which made us feel very uncomfortable.

Just what you'd expect from Caravan Club

Very pleasant site even though not very much "greenery". 2016 wardens/assistants excellent - friendly, helpful and welcoming. Facs kept clean and tidy. It's a pity there is minimal public transport in the vicinity - a downer for motorhomers. On the plus side, Blackpool is one of the few cities in UK that welcome motorhomes into its car parks, but a bus service at reasonable intervals would be better.

The site is always kept clean & tidy by very helpful wardens. You call it a dynamic site, so why on earth do you close it early in November ? I ve spoken with many retired members who would use the site during nov /dec for Christmas shopping in Blackpool. Please consider,Robert
