Lovely location and very quiet

We were lucky to stay here for 12 days of beautiful spring weather. The site is ideal for visiting the New Forest and Brockenhurst. The site is very compact which means that when it is busy there is very little open space and nowhere for children to play and meet others. The manicures lawns and hardstandings take away any sense of adventure! The open forest is just outside the gate but on site I didn't have a sense of being in the forest as I do on other sites in the area. The wardens were helpful and efficient, and the facilities were always clean. Many people staying on the site had at least one dog.

Lovely site for bikes

This site is the best one I have been in for the bike rides. The rides through the woods are amazing. The only let down for this site is the the toilet block which needs updating. There is mould in the men's toilets and a hole in the roof. Otherwise a lovely site and the pubs in the area are excellent

LOVELY SITE

Just spent 4 nights at Black Knowl. Lovely site kept clean & tidy by the friendly wardens. All pitches open due to dry weather. Some facilities a bit tired but was advised will be upgraded sometime as club now own the site. One word of warning, the access road is in appalling condition with  some very deep potholes. Forestry Commision aware but not doing anything about it.

Facilities tired

This is a lovely site in a great location, particularly for dog walkers. Facilities need updating. There is a lovely walk from Beaulieu to Bucklers hard, but avoid the Master Builders in Bucklers hard for lunch unless you are prepared to be ripped off.

Another visit

We have been going to this site at least once a year for last 5 years & just returned again. Location fantastic for road free walks & cycling. Wardens do their best to keep dated wash blocks clean but they really are in need of revamp. Whilst I appreciate they all seem to work extremely hard & are on the go all day Assistant wardens remained very friendly & welcoming but wardens less so.  Site "rules" e.g. No arrivals before 12 & 5mph round the site seemed to be ignored by numerous guests & selectively picked up on by wardens. Some members should be reminded they are in place for good reason.  Overall another enjoyable break and will be back.

New Facilities Please

This is my favourite site, when you can get booked on it, but thats a different issue. But please can the Showers and toilets be updated. They are always clean and kept well by the Wardens but they are so old and there are not enough of them when the site is full. Really need another block. But we had a great time and will be back if we can get booked in.....

Time for a makeover

You can't beat this site for location, peace and tranquility. The cycle paths are brilliant, the animals are out in abundance this year and it's near enough to Lynmouth and Brockenhurst for some good eating and shopping. The site however is getting dated. It was packed, as you'd expect, over the Easter holidays. There were pitches posit us that were out of service because the electricity wasn't working - this was badly taped up and looked ugly. The block is tired and in desperate need of refurbishment. The best find we made was the 3 cubicles of just showers for ladies and gents opposite the toilet entrance. They were quiet and by far less tatty. Time for some TLC. Oh - and whilst the wardens are great - and I say this for nearly all sites - could they please say 'hello, welcome, did you have a good journey?' or such like, rather than 'have you got your card?'!

lovely site

lovely site, remarkable location, freindly and helpful staff - our first time in caravavan and very happy to help us out with hitch etc. will comeback later in summer. This was a maiden voyage for us, so most of our time was spent getting to grips with the new caravan and how it all works etc. wish we had taken more time off work and stayed longer, some lovely dog freindly villages in tha area and some really lovely food in the cafes and restaurants.

Lovely site.

Just been on our fourth visit and looking forward to our fifth later in the year, Now that the club own the site maybe attention to the Wash block would be good, it's looking dated and shabby.
