I'm normally a CL kind of caravanner but, when friends heard of my planned trip to Northumberland, "you must stay ay Sea View, Berwick" was all I heard. So I booked 6 nights online. I shall definitely be joining my friends in their enthusiasm for the site. With wonderful views directly over the harbour and out to sea, worth the fee alone. Facilities were spotless and the grounds immaculately maintained. The team of wardens were helpful and friendly and, with the good proximity to town and shopping etc. this site rate very highly. I would urge any membe,r going this far north, not to miss this great site.
have been to this site a few times over the past years ,we love this site as it as nice sea views if you can get the good pitches, warden are nice and friendly and they keep the site nice, toilets are nice and clean, also good base as a stop over the only down side is the railway that runs at the back of the site, but you get used to it after a some time, good area to get around you can go down to the beach at spitel nice walk from the site, Bambara castle is worth a visit, you can get on the lovely beach there also in the village there is pubs and restaurant if you wise to go to, also you can visit holy island when the tide is out plenty to do in this area would recommend this site for peace and relaxation the sea view dose this site proud we will return at some time in the future.
Myself and Young Lady have spent a lovely two weeks here at this site having tried to get here for three years we managed it and it was worth the wait the views from the site are very good site is easy to get to once there the staff couldn't be more helpful and have knowledge not just local but all over the area willing to tell you all you want to know and more. The ground staff always have time for a chat or friendly wave we rate this site as 10 out of 10 I would just like to remind people with dogs to clean up after them carrying the little black bags is not hard to do only the odd ones let themselves down making more work for the staff who enjoy the site as much as we visitors do enough of gripe if you are thinking of coming don't just book and have a great time
Stopped for 2 nights. The site was really clean, the wardens friendly, trains not a problem. What lovely views and a nice easy walk into Berwick town centre.
Really lovely site next time more time as this site with its views and location just ideal. Wardens amazing, thank you for being so accommodating and friendly.
We stayed at this site for 10 days. Great site for exploring Northumberland and local area. Can walk into Berwick town centre, to the lighthouse & to the beach at Spittal. The beach is good for young children & was never crowded even when hot. The campsite was peaceful (we weren't bothered by the trains or seagulls). Great to look out at the sea from the caravan & to hear the waves at night! One of the best sites we've stayed at (mind you we've liked all Caravan Club sites so far).
We have stayed at this site a number of times over the years and keep on returning for a few days as it is a great place to relax. The only down side is the proximity of the East Coast railway line which is adjacent to the site but, to be honest, we got used to the trains and they didn't bother us. It's the seagulls that we found to be noisy and chanced their luck at pinching food off the bar-be-que. You have to be on your guard with them at times.
It is the views from the site and the short walk to a fantastic beach that is the plus point of this site. The town of Berwick upon Tweed is a short walk away and is a great place to explore.
Another guest has commented that there is no dog walk at this site which I find surprising. They must have not noticed the large park right next door to the site where dogs can be walked without any problems. There's a great football pitch for the kids to play ball game in as well!!
All in all, a great site and the wardens, who are very helpful, are very good at keeping the site up to Caravan Club standards.
No play area for kids and no dog walk area but doesnt bother us as we have neither. In any event there are miles of beach on your doorstep so who needs them on site. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed it so much we tried to book an extra night whilst there but alas it was (unsurprisingly) fully booked. Some of the pitches slope a bit so you may need blocks. Be aware the east coast main line trains run past the rear of the site but we found we got used to them and it really didnt affect us - hence the 5 stars for peace and quiet.
Good site, access up fairly steep incline.good assessment of where you go before you go is the key to this site.built somewhere around 50's it is a tight site for longer units and has a proportion of pitches more suitable to small units with some larger pitches. The wardens have a good understanding of this and save the larger pitches for pre booked arrivals. Cracking views, can be a bit of a walk to get to services depending on your pitch but the view makes it a worthy trip. Only gripe and it is unfortunately on reviews a regular one and that is site users personal habits in using the facilities. I find it hard to believe that they leave toilets, sinks, showers and laundry room in there homes the same. Genuinely felt sorry for the wardens having to sort it out. The few spoil for the many again??. Good area for seeing this side of Northumberland and good for shops in spittal and Berwick . Nice walk down to the beach and letting the dog have a run.
The location is super, the site wardens are lovely. The facilities are what you expect.Plenty to do in areas town 15 mins away.Beautiful beaches, would go back tomorrow. Thanks caravan club.
