Fantastic location

Spent our anniversary weekend there. Beautifully maintained, easy to pitch up, stones thrown fron the beach, plenty to see close by. We have already booked our return visit.

Pick your pitch first!!

It feels that because this site is so well positioned and, despite being term-time, was full all the time we were there, the Caravan Club have squeezed as many pitches onto this terraced site as is humanly possible. The cul-de-sacs have no end turning areas and the roads are very narrow so, unless you are very good at reversing, it's important to park at the entrance and choose your pitch first leaving a member of your party to guard it! We were very fortunate that there was a pitch with a view which we could fit on available so didn't have a problem but we saw many who did. When we left the chap opposite was all ready to move to our pitch so he could put his awning up, there being no room to do so where he was. Otherwise the site is well kept to Caravan Club standards and well positioned to visit Berwick-upon-Tweed and it's wonderful hinterland so it's popularity is understandable. The only drawback is the tightness of the site, the very early morning goods train on the adjacent line - and the horrendous speed humps on the approach road (large enough to have potholes on top)!

Jayk

Touring up the east coast to Scotland stayed for two nights layout was terraced with good views but proved yo be quite awkward in choosing a pitch as there were cul d sacs it would have been helpful if the wardens could have given information as to where there were vacant pitches as at other club sites. In fact one motorhome turned up and left again as they found it too awkward. Probably wouldn't return

Another winner

Stopped overnight on route back from Scotland. Easy access from A1. Staff very friendly and helpful when checking in good pitch with sea view. Site and toilets very clean and tidy. Enjoyed a lovely evening walk from the site along the beach at Spittal. Will revisit for a longer stay to explore more of the area but highly recommend.

Loved it!

Great site with friendly, helpful, welcoming staff. Good views. Easy walk into Berwick which has some great pubs!  Can't really comment accurately about suitability for families because we travel as a couple.

Good site

A 4 night stay on our way back down from the Highlands was great. Lots to do if you like walking, as you have the beach and some great walks around the the historic town, all from the campsite, the only time we used the car was when we went to Holy Island, and that is well worth the visit . Just down from the site is a great fishery shop, this is a must if you like fresh fish, including dressed crab and lobster at great prices. (Fresh lobster, ready prepared was £12) Most pitches have a sea view and the facilities block was spotless. The East Coast railway line runs behind the site, but you hardly know it there, and its a good site for dog owners

Great Sea View

We had a full weekend here then the following weekend a stop over before the start of our tour of Scotland. This site has some amazing views of the sea and the railway viaduct we were very lucky to have this view. Berwick is a very interesting place to visit, the Lowry walk is very good with lots of information as you go. Lovely site well maintained we shall be back here soon.

not just a convenient stopover

A two night stop on the way to Scotland. Had a good view of the estuary. We found a leaflet in the information room for a bike ride to Lindisfarne. We knew that the tide times wouldn't allow the ride across to the island but we had a lovely ride along the coast and nice coffee and cakes at the Barn. Wardens and facilities up to usual excellent CC standard.

super site

Stayed here for six nights and the time just whizzed by as there is so much to do and all close by. A short trip into Scotland and the tiny coastal villages is an absolute must. The site is very quiet apart from the odd train going by behind you. The views from most pitches are superb. A short walk gets you to a lovely beach with a promenade but coming back is  'up hill' Phew !! Slightly longer walk (about  half an hour ) gets you into Berwick proper, and its mostly flat.
