Great site and great base for visiting the surrounding area.

Wardens though a bit officious on arrival were great and helped us out with a couple of minor problems during our stay. Site is ideally placed for visiting Berwick and other attractions in the area such as Lindisfarne, Banborough Castle and Angel of The North etc. Site is tidy and well maintained to a high standard as are all Club Sites in the main. Pitches on the upper tier have great sea views if you can get one. Some reviewers have complained about pitch sizes and stated this is not a site where you can easily sit outside the van and relax. I would disagree with that statement entirely. Also several complain about noise from the railway. If they don't like noise why book the site in the first place? Surely they would do as I do and any other competent person and check out the site before booking. Don't know if we will visit the area again but if we do we would certainly use this site again and recomment it to anyone.

15 days of peace and quiet away from it all

We had stayed on this site before but was put off by the attitude of the Wardens then. This stay couldn't have been different. The Wardens couldn't have been more helpful to our particular needs. They were helpful and friendly and made the holiday. We have already booked for another week this year. They enforced the arrival time so that the entrance wasn't clogged. The empty beach was a couple of minutes by car or less than 10 minutes walking. Whether it is history or walks, beaches or castles or empty roads this site is a good place to start. Downside, the toilet/shower block is a bit dated and the trainline runs behind the site but one soon gets used to the occasional noise.

Thoroughly recommend...except for trains if light sleeper

We're motorhomers (7.3 metres) so had no trouble with the entrance, road down etc. but we did notice that some of the super caravans were having to do the double shuffle as it is a site that came into being before the mega units of today. Very helpful wardens who made sure we knew that it isn't a drive around site looking for a pitch. It's long & thin and built were there used to be railway sidings so there are dead ends. Outstanding sea views from the big majority of pitches. Easy walk into Berwick, just aim for the lowest of the three bridges. The beach below is totally dog friendly but the tide does come in very fast so be aware. The one big but is the main line train that runs behind the site. In the day you get used to it but at night, if a light sleeper, the first goods train at 4.50am does mean an early start to the day. Take ear plugs! Only given it two for peace and quiet because it isn't. It's a site to use as a base, not sit outside and take the sun...there isn't enough room if you have a caravan, awning, big car etc. The one for families is the same reason. No play area, nowhere for kids in the surrounding area at all. A great site though if you want to get into the car and travel

A lovely site

What a lovely site and nice wardens. Granted the railway line is adjacent to the site but the trains are not constantly passing and they do become white noise. Didn’t keep us awake or wake us in the morning. Most of the pitches have a Seaview and views of Berwick upon Tweed. The town itself is old and historic. We took the train into Edinburgh which only cost £19.50 return each and stops right near Princes Street and a short walk from the castle. From the site you can walk to a beach which has views of the wall around Berwick. The sea mist when it comes gives the site a slightly eerie feel. It comes and goes quite quickly. We stayed here twice within 3 weeks and would recommend it. Probably not so suitable for children as no play area. If you park in town you pay just £1 for a parking disc and as long as you observe any parking time restrictions you pay no more. Just put the disc in the window with time of arrival and that’s it. Simple. There is even a free parking area near the B&M store.

June 2018

Avoid pitch 23! NO sea view, it and the surrounding pitches are like a piece of waste ground at the end of an Industrial Estate, with a main-line train flying past every 20 minutes about 100 yards away. Brilliant staff, clean site and facilities, just the non-seaview pitch we were allocated, paid for 3 nights, stayed only 1.

Good for Visit to Berwick

The handbook and website comments regarding site entrance should be heeded. The single width sloping entrance road has very limited space for units waiting to book in. Perhaps the club should allocate pitches on this site to alleviate rush to get to site early. This would avoid queuing outside the site entrance, followed by the sometimes rather unseemly scramble and mayhem on site in the rush for pitches. We fortunately arrived on a quiet day, the wardens were friendly, helpful and efficient. The site was fairly full so the warden highlighted 2-3 pitches on our site map that would be suitable for our outfit. This is not a site to drive around endlessly looking for the perfect pitch, it has slopping corners, tight bends and cull-de-sacs that may be difficult to reverse out of. The site roads are narrow and because the pitch sizes are small there is not very much room to manoeuvre onto a lot of the pitches. The club probably first owned this site when outfits were half the size, judging by the black and white photographs in reception. The site itself is nice enough and in a very good location for visits to Berwick. It is a safe and fairly easy walk into the town. However we felt it would not be the ideal pace for those just wanting to sit outside and relax.

Wardens deserve the credit

An excellently maintained site. The wardens blocked access to early arrivals as the site was full and the access road narrow. We noticed the wardens were available for late arrivals and in good spirits, ensured all were bedded in. The site itself is tight with a narrow access and internal road. It seems the CMC has crammed in as many pitches as possible although there were patches of grass and hedges. There are views of the bay. The East Coast main railway line is adjacent to the site so you do get the noise from the trains. Berwick is a lovely town and well worth the trip. We watched a seal bathing in the river by the old bridge several days running. In addition to walking along the River Tweed, we also drove through gorgeous scenery to where it rises. Despite the train noise - which didn't bother us that much - it was one of only a few sites where we wished we had booked a longer stay.

Lovely site

Visited here April 2018 for 2 nights with my wife, as were new too caravanning and touring we had questions and the guy on reception was very helpful, friendly and generally helpful.nice guy. We had an amazing sea view and wasn't too far from the facilities block, which was excellent, spotless, warm, and modern facilities. The arrival, booking in and pitching was quick and made easy, we had everything explained(we said we were newbies),and the exit was the same. We will definitely return too this site and recommend highly Too submit this review I have too rate family facilities, and I can't, because I wasn't travelling with children, I wasn't looking for children/family facilities, but sea, fresh air, nature, the outdoors shud be good for any family

A great site

Berwick Seaview is a great site situated a 30 minute walk to Berwick upon Tweed. The walled town is well worth a visit and a walk around the walls are a must. Spittal beach and promenade is a 5 minute walk from the campsite and good for both children and dogs. Wildlife is in abundance including seals, birds and rabbits. The wardens are all friendly and the site is clean and tidy. Pitches are well spaced out and most have a sea view. The access road is little steep on entry and longer units will need to take it slowly as its easy to rub the steady legs on the road. The main rail line is just behind the boundary wall and although very close they are not that noisy as they are electric. This site is well worth a visit and we will be returning.

Above And Beyond Customer Support

Always a wonderful place to visit we were nearing the end of our stay on this beutiful site when my wife was involved in a serious hit and run accident in the centre of Berwick causing her some very nasty injuries. On hearing of our problem, nothing was to much trouble for the warden team we were allowed to extend our booking during a busy period and offered a move closer to the blocks facilities. Just to add yet another kindness the duty warden arrived at the caravan with a beautiful bouquet of red roses and a card from the warden team to wish my wife a speedy recovery. Now that’s what I call above and beyond any job description, a sincere thank you to all concerned.
