GREAT FIRST VISIT

Stayed here with friends in August/September. Easy to find with directions in book. Wardens were friendly and gave us a warm welcome. Beautiful view of Berwick from our pitch. Took bikes and had a couple of pleasant rides out. Holy Island was only 15 minutes drive and Paxton House was about the same and well worth a visit. Would definitely return when next in area.

Perfect for our needs

Lovely site with really friendly, helpful wardens. We got a smashing pitch with lovely views and the facilities were particularly well kept, even by CC standards. We stayed to allow us to attend an event, it was a very pleasant walk into the town. Many thanks for an enjoyable stay!

Lovely site

Had a short stop on way to Scotland. Lovely site did not have pitch with view but ours was sheltered and we did have some significant winds. The spiral beach was lovely. Need to return for longer stay to do more exploring

OCTOBER VISIT

A return to Berwick Seaview - most enjoyable. The views are lovely, (if you have one) the town itself is very interesting and the trains, although frequent, didn't bother us at all. It's also great having a bus stop right outside the site to get to town. We were lucky on arrival and didn't have to deal with the 1.00 p.m. traffic jam at the entrance. I do think the Club has tried to squeeze too many pitches into this site, making it feel cramped in part, and definitely leaving insufficient room for arrivals. It also traps people in if they happen to want to leave the site around lunch time. The motorhome waste point is in the middle of the road after the barrier so one has no choice but to block the entire road whilst trying to fill with fresh water/evacuate grey water; the Members who unfortunately pulled up behind us while we were undertaking this endeavour were so nice and patient (thank you) but it's an embarrassing/hopeless situation. The radio playing in the toilet block annoys us; we'd rather have peace and quiet, but no doubt others will like it. I would just question whether the cost of the licence to play music in public is Club funds well spent?!

Comment from the Club

Many thanks for leaving a review. We appreciate your feedback and we have forwarded this on to the Regional Manager for his reference. We would just like to advise that there is no music in the toilet blocks at Berwick Seaview. We do have radio in the toilet/washroom facilities on some Club Sites but not currently at Berwick Seaview. We hope this clears up any confusion and thank you again for leaving a review.

Good site but winter may be hard

Not sure if this site shuts in the winter so if it does then don't worry. I just thought that it might be difficult to navigate in the winter and some of the areas you can't turn around in so I avoided those but a good site with a lovely view friendly staff enough and good facilities handy for Berwick and visiting friends. Many thanks.

Stunning views,

Just had a 2 night stay and really enjoyed it, we were a little worried about train noise due to previous reviews but they did not bother us and the views from most pitches make up for any intrusion, wardens are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble, very clean toilets etc and a well kept site, buses into Berwick are very handy just outside site and drop you in centre of town we caught another bus up to Morrisons and had a stock up before moving on, we have been to Berwick before but stayed on a CL at Beal just down the road but we will be using Sea view in future, regarding waiting to get in at 1 pm we arrived at 1.30 and had no wait and a good choice of pitches which was a surprise as we had not booked in advance, well done Sea view hope to be back soon.

Our Favourite Site

Our original week long booking at Seaview the beginning of September was extended three times with assistance from very helpful wardens as our plans changed, eventually ending with the maximum 21 nights. This site has the best views that I have ever experienced. We first started visiting Seaview in 2008 just a year after becoming touring caravanners with an old asmatic mondeo and a Lunar by Mercury that was built around the same time as Noahs Ark. We actually stopped off at Durham Grange site to break the journey that first year as I didn't think the mondeo could make the 200+ mile tow from Lincolnshire in one go and I was right, the next morning the silencer fell off on the A1 near Newcastle. Oh dear. Despite this being a long haul for us it is now our most visited club site with several bookings per year over the last ten years. That includes the last two Christmases which the wardens made really special with a drinks and buffet party. A very nice touch but sadly the site is closed this Christmas, what a shame. We are really going to miss it this year! The site is tiered down the Spittal hillside offering the most stunning views across the mouth of the River Tweed with a good number of the pitches having a full view of this panoramic vista. You may need a motor mover or a bag-full of spinach to turn your van round to get the best views from your front windows but it's welll worth it. Leave your blinds open to experience the sunrise over the sea as a fabulous morning wake up call. Much better than an alarm clock. (Note to younger tourers: Alarm clocks were how we used to be woken before mobile phones were invented). Berwick is a charming place with plenty to offer in the town or a super walk around on the town walls. Take a stroll along the lovely Spittal beach and you may see dolphins near the coast or perhaps, if your lucky you may be treated to the Northern Lights (night time only). You will find the people here are really friendly and chat to you whether it be at the supermarket checkout or a town cafe. Northumberland is a beautiful area with so much to offer, both coastal and inland with the option to cross the border into Scotland. If you want somewhere to locate your caravan while exploring castles, beaches and charming market towns, Berwick Seaview is the best place. Final note: After leaving for three days to a site further down the coast we came back for another week. We love this site!

Disappointed

Why is this lovely site closing at the beginning of November? We are here now and, yet again, it is full. People don't stop using caravans and motorhomes because it's winter. Really disappointed with Caravan and Motorhome club for doing this.

1 o'clock pantomime

Hi just returned from Berwick seaview used to be my favourite cc site but this idea of not being allowed on site till 1 o clock even though there was lots of empty pitches we arrived at 1 20 and were 5th in line halfway up the hill stopping anyone getting in or out ( the 2 units in front of me doing the same ) there is even a note telling you not to try to get out around that time on the bumf you get on arrival, surely the warden knows what pitches are available and use a bit of discretion to let people in to keep the access clear at all times ( fire heath and safety ect ) how long would it take to move 5 units a to let the fire service in longer than it would take for a caravan to burn out we had travelled over 4 hours to get there trying to time it for 1 00 how stupid I will not do it again
