We stayed here for a week at the end of September. Beautifully kept site immaculate facilities. Bit disappointed with the location doesn't reflect the picture in the club location book. . Area is a bit run down at the beach front . Thank you to all the wardens who were so friendly and helpful and worked tirelessly.
1st time experience
Spent 3 nights here for the first time. Great views and easy walking into Berwick. Staff brill and facilities upto clubs usual high standards. Yes there is a railway line running to rear of site and we were pitched adjacent to it but it didn't distrurb us at any time.If you are noise sensitive ask for a pitch away from line lower on site.
The best holiday ever
We have just got back from 11 nights at Seaview. Yes it is a narrow site with a railway line at the back of it but we very quickly got used to the noise and stopped noticing it. The beach at Spittal is big, clean, quiet and dog friendly. The wardens were so lovely and friendly. The town centre is clean and well served with independent shops as well as chains. Alnwick and Bamburgh are within easy reach and a day out in Edinburgh by train is easy. Can I also recommend the dog house doggy day care and the seafood factory shop. We will be back.

Lovely site, quirky location
This was our second stay at Seaview because we really like it. It may not appeal to everyone as the location, on the face of it isn't the most appealing. The site is actually in Spittal, not Berwick and is right next to the East Coast Main line. Plus it sits between old Spittal and a newer housing estate.
Trains run all day but the noise of the trains has never bothered us.
Most pitches have a view over the Tweed estuary and we were lucky enough to see dolphins playing in the sea.
Spittal (and Berwick) speak of faded glory. Spittal was once quite industrial but was also a seaside Spa. (Search for some elaborate houses). There is a 1930's promenade and a lovely beach which is perfect for evening dog walks.
Berwick itself is about a 20 minute walk from the site. I recommend getting away from the main street and walking around the old town walls, or follow the Lowry trail to see some of the hidden gems of this historic town.
The site itself is a good location for exploring Northumberland and the borders. Avoid Lindesfarne during summer holidays however as its what too busy! Edinburgh is about 45min on the train, making a day trip quite possible.
As always, the wardens were great and the facilities spotless.
Ok for a stop off
We stayed here for 1 night on our recent epic journey north from the Midlands to Orkney staying at caravan club sites along the way. This was a convenient site to stay at with the usual quality facilities. Pitches were fine as you would expect and wardens friendly. There is a train track right along the site but as it was a Saturday night/ Sunday stay there weren't as many trains. The location whilst convenient is really in a residential area. A short walk takes you to Spittal sea front which to be honest has seen better days. Most things shut/ boarded up. Kids enjoyed a walk on the beach in the evening. Wouldn't recommend any paddling as the water quality signs showed it as 'sufficient' this year (just!) but also stated too poor to use for past 2 seasons! Bit worrying! Overall good for location near Berwick but not the best site for us.

Short stay
Had a 2 night stay, warden welcoming and informative.
Seaview site is not really at Berwick as it’s in spittal (which does have a really nice beach to walk on) and it’s at least a mile walk into Berwick town. Lovely city walls and parkland to walk around once you’re there and plenty of places to eat/drink.
Seaview does have a literal sea view but it’s not the prettiest I’ve seen, the trains which passed didn’t really spoil anything during the day but I did hear them first thing ... not a deal breaker though.
A Little Confused!
I've titled this A Little Confused for good reason as I am exactly that after reading some of the other reviews on the site - so I have decided to be as honest as possible about our recent stay at Berwick Seaview.
Firstly - the site is in Spittal, not Berwick but its as close as that makes no difference and the approach is from a road with speed retarders then up quite a steep driveway - longer units beware you may ground out.
Check in - there are 4 wardens looking after the site and you may find that if you have a larger unit then the pitches available to you will have been partly allocated as the site is not one that you can drive around looking for one that has the best view, faces South for the sun, is not under a tree, doesn't have any neighbours etc - I thought this was a good idea and when you drive onto the site you realise just why. Very happy with our pitch on the 'upper tier' against the East Coast Main Line.
Railway Noise - the site is quite long and narrow and is bordered by the ECML so expect trains on it - express trains - with a number of coaches. Also expect freight trains and engineering operations. The trains start early and finish late but honestly they are past in no time and the noise did not bother us in the slightest - in fact we knew what type of train was passing by the end of our stay from the sound.
Seagulls - For some reason as the railway quietens down the local seagull population takes up residence and personally they need to be served an ASBO. I thought birds were quiet at night! These are most definitely not. The CAMC need the services of the SAS here (Seagull Assassination Squad) :) These birds will disturb the peace and are more of a pain than a passing HST.
Facilities - can be either on your doorstep or a walk away - luck of the draw. Only one block and this would be my only real criticism of the site as it would benefit from a second block at busy times - that said you don't find yourself waiting long for your chosen ablution if you arrive at the same time as everyone else. Would also benefit from renovation at some point but its kept very clean and tidy given the size of site and its full occupancy.
Wardens - oh dear CAMC !
Why can't every site have wardens like these? Brilliant, nothing too much trouble, very pleasant and assistive with anything they can assist with! I misplaced a charger for my camera - I asked if I ordered one could it be delivered to the site - no problem at all. In fact it even arrived at my pitch by the grasscutter express! Amazing! If people treat the wardens as fellow humans then I am sure that they will get a beneficial response.
All in all a brilliant stay on a brilliant site with great wardens. We will be back to Berwick at some point as there is so much to see in the local area - you can even get a noisy train to Edinburgh for the day for around £19 return.
Lovely location
Had a lovely visit our first to this site the wardens were so helpful a big thank you ,beautiful views acros the harbour and we had the best views ..with lovely dog walks to the beach and Berwick town, highly recommended and we will return again soon..ps thank you for our puppy dog food .....
Disipointed
The site is located high up overlooking the sea, some of the pitches have great views , others no view at all. Unfortunately the site was full during our stay, and we ended up at the back of the site adjacent to the high speed railway line. Trains run from about 04.30am and make much noise. The site is long and thin, therefore all pitches will suffer from the train noise.
Our pitch had reasonable views, but spoilt by the constant noise of the passing trains. One dated shower/toilet block, very clean but only one shower block for 98 caravan pitches and a number of tent pitches. Wardens very helpful good location to explore the surrounding area. Would I come back to this site ? No, only because of the train line which I feel should be mentioned in the site details.
Review of Seaview
We found Seaview a lovely site very helpful stewards & well looked after. The position of the site is great, lovely views out to sea & all three bridges in Berwick can be seen, great base for visiting loads of places.
The town is 20-25 mins walk & has plenty of good local shops, pubs & eating places.
Our stay was made even better by the superb weather we had, i doubt it has been that nice in the borders consistently for years.
The best bar in town for real ale & atmosphere is a little micro pub called The Curfew.
We will definitely return to Seaview.
