As first time caravanners the wardens could not do enough for us giving practical advice and support. Have already booked our next visit. Lovely small site in the countryside within easy reach of lots of attractions including Leeds Castle, Mote Park, Canterbury and NT properties. Immaculate toilet block.
Helpful and great site
The staff were very helpful and the site is very well kept. Great location. Only negative is that when the bathrooms are being cleaned there is no spare one to use.
Brilliant stay
My wife and I stayed 24 Oct 21 - 27 Oct 21. We both loved it quite a small site but exactly what we wanted. The Wardens were excellent both very knowledgeable and friendly, felt as though we had known them for years and not just met them for the first time. They keep the site in a superb condition and very clean. We like to use local buses which this site was very useful for Maidstone and Ashford Retail Outlet.
We will definitely use the site again if we are back down that way.
First Time Newbies
This was our first ever caravan stay with a van we collected 3 weeks ago. The wardens were outstanding in assisting us with our stay. Alan and the team went above and beyond, helping me reverse onto our pitch, giving all sorts of tips and hints to make caravanning a far more enjoyable experience.
Outstanding facilities kept immaculately clean and customer service that was first class.
Without their help and expertise our first trip may have been our last, but with renewed confidence we can only thank Alan and the team with all our hearts.
We will be back again! Highly recommended site. Thank you Alan and team
Loved it till the end
1st time at this site really enjoyed our stay. The lady warden was so friendly and helpful. Spotlessly clean toilets and showers also plenty of water points around site. Location great 15 -20 minute brisk walk to local pubs all with good food. Bearstead woodland trust great for dogs just up the road. Only thing that spoilt it was the male warden who marched across the site to tell me in rather an angry way that you have to walk dogs when coming back from the dog park on the paths even though there was no pitches in use the way I walked back to my pitch. Just seemed a bit unnecessary for him to react in that way and feel he could have dealt with better and rather tainted what was a lovely stay otherwise. I note from other reviews that something similar has happened to other members.
Great stay and very helpful Wardens/Managers
We used this site for a stop over for a wedding and another family occassion and it was a great choice.
Yes it is near the M20 which is obviously good for access, but also you can hear the noise...if you concentrate. Didnt affect us when on site.
The Wardens/Managers are really helpful here and couldnt do enough for us, showing us where everything is and then calling on us later to see if we were settled in and OK. Love that personal touch.
The site is sloping and I had to use ramps, but because the new ramps would foul our water outlets the Warden was so helpful in lending me a couple of ramps to help out.
Great site and will definately come back....loved the banter ;-)
Nice stay
1st time on this site. The facilities are exceptional, very clean.
Wardens were very welcoming and pleasant.
Very easy to get to, just off the M20, and within easy reach of Chatham dockyard, Canterbury and Maidstone.
Plenty of takeaway options, and they will deliver if you would prefer.
The only down side is there is a little noise from the road, but it didn't disturb us too much. There is a building site next door which can be a bit noisy in the day, but again, didn't bother us too much as we were down the bottom of the site.
Would we stay here again....it's a yes.

We Found The White Noise from the M20 Most Disturbing
If it weren't for the above, I would certainly come again. However, as my wife and I live in a quiet road in a quiet English market town, the constant white noise of traffic from the M20 late into the night and starting very early in the morning was difficult to bear. Everyone experiences noise in a different way and I can imagine that for many people this poses no problem at all. We never use the shower and toilet facilities, as we have everything on board, so I cannot comment on them. The impression of the site in general is neat and tidy, so no issues on that score. The wardens were friendly and helpful. The bus stop into Maidstone is on the doorstep.

2nd visit
This was our 2nd visit to this club site, and as before, we were very impressed with the facilities, and the fantastic warden and his wife. Nothing was too much trouble for them, Alan was extremely helpful, as we are relatively new to caravans. The only problem we found with this site, was the quality of the hardstanding serviced pitch we were on. The base was so old it was all but impossible to hammer in the rock pegs for our awning, even when using a heavy club hammer. Even Alan the warden tried and failed, and after several bent and damaged rock pegs, we just crossed our fingers and hoped that, what pegs we did manage to get in would hold, which luckily they did. Better inspection and maintenance of these hardstanding would be a good idea for the future.
Good site ..... but not for us!
We stayed 12 nights at Bearstead. It's in a very good location to get to all the main places in Kent. The site is well kept and has very easy access. The only problem we had, concerned the showers/toilet block. We're not sure if this is standard practice on all club sites, but the showers were unavailable every day between 10.30am and midday (for cleaning). They were, of course, kept in a spotless condition and we fully understand the need for cleaning. However, for us, the timing of closure just doesn't work, as we are relatively late risers and we felt 'regimented' by always having to shower before around 10am. I'm sure that presents no problem to many, but if you're like us and like a relaxed morning, you may wish to consider this.
