Easy to get to

A very pleasant site with excellent links to surrounding areas, but with a little road noise from the M20.  We were a little miffed when we couldn't select our own pitch and despite turning up in the late afternoon (winter months and hence it was dark when we arrived) there were plenty of free pitches we were given one right in the corner and unfortunately right next to the children's play area.  Fortunately of us our stay was in the winter and the play area was only used on our last day; luckily for us as our two dogs bark at anything that moves. The toilets and showers were outstandingly clean and were all that you would expect from the Caravan Club; there is only one toilet block and is part of the reception complex.  There are plenty of water points, but only one toilet waste point, but it has been excellently situated right in the middle of the site and is no more than a minutes walk away. The dog walk provides a small area for your dogs to have there constitutional walk, ideal for a quick toilet break for them, and if you turn left out of the site the next built-up area provides an excellent park area for a good long walk for your pets. This site provides you with an excellent departure point for many places in Kent and an ideal location to have an overnight stop should you have a long drive to get to the Chunnel or ports; well worth the visit.

Great site

Second time we have stayed here. Booked in for 4 nights. The site itself is spotless with the cleanest facilities anywhere and radio 2 playing to sing along whilst showering. The pitches are huge. Wardens are lovely ,very friendly and make your stay pleasurable.  The only draw back to the site is the noise from the M20 but that is a small price to pay for being in such a central location. Great for access to towns and the coast. We loved it.

Nice location - spoiled by inconsiderate caravanner

Stayed here for 3 nights in mid-November. Very nice location with easy access by bus into Maidstone, but watch out for return bus stop, as our driver dropped us off three stops too early!  Site staff very welcoming and even gave us some of their own tea bags when we ran out, despite not yet having stock in the shop. Our stay was spoilt by an inconsiderate caravanner who couldn't reverse his van onto the opposite pitch without clipping our M/H which was parked well in from the roadway. Heated language from the driver, eventually followed by an apology, was no excuse for incompetence in reversing a caravan.

Facilities in wrong place

Although the site and facilities are spotless, they are not idealy placed. Washroom, toilets, dish-washing, information etc, is located by the main entrance, which also include those annoying, hard to see at night, digi-locks. Caravans sited nearby are fine, but the majority have a fair walk to use the facilities. A more central position where most of the caravans are sited would have been more sensible. Beware fast vehicles coming from the right (Blind Bend) on leaving the site, no fault though of the Caravan Club. Good sized level pitches, ideal for Kent attraction, and of course Ferry/Tunnel Crossings.

Ideal stopover on way to ferry

This is the second time we have stopped here and it is very convenient for the cross channel ferries.  The staff are friendly and the facilities lovely and clean.  a stopover we will use again.

very good site

We have stayed here a few times now, always brilliantly kept, clean excellent facilities. Bus stop at site entrance for hourly buses to Maidstone and Ashford. The only gripe I have is that when the toilets are closed 10.30 - 12.00, NO other toilet is made available for emergencies. Most other sites have this facility.

Nice site for a short stay

I've heard and read so much about this site, that I thought I'd give it a try. It's easy to find and centrally located for some superb places to visit.  Access from the road is good. Wide entrance is ideal, alas as I pulled in I discovered that the outfit in front of me hadn't pulled forward and over enough for me to pull alongside without getting very close to rearranging the fence that is on the near side. The arrival area is quite tight. So parking behind the other van I made my way to the office, only to be dispatched back to wait with my outfit. Once the other one had moved I was able to move toward and start the booking in process. The computer system was a little temperamental but the warden soon had it licked. I was allocated a pitch ( first time ever on a C C site) strange considering that there were plenty of vacant pitches. This is a small site but there are loads of pitches so you do seem close to others compared to  some other sites. The sound of the M20 was distinctive, maybe because the site wasn't that busy, I would think in high season you wouldn't hear it above the sites own sound.  It's clean and tidy and I could see that a lot of effort goes into keeping it that way.  On leaving the site just after nine I did find that the toilets were locked even though the the sign on the doors stated Cleaning would commence at ten-fifteen.  On leaving the site, I discovered that trying to cross the road and turn right, required nerves of steel and a clean smooth and brisk manoeuvre, as its a busy road and you find that you are on  the wrong side of a blind bend.  I would use this site again, but maybe it wouldn't be my first choice.

Excellent

We used this site as it was a convenient location for us. Beautifully kept, cheerful friendly wardens, surprisingly quiet despite the A20 going right by. Nice level pitches with a sensible sized gravel that does not migrate into the caravan. Would we use it again, definitely.
