Lovely Terraced Site

Lovely site featuring small terraces, this really helps to break up the campsite.  Facilities very good, wardens superb.

Lovely weekend

We stayed here just for the weekend. A brilliant site for peace and good walks. Clean toilets and facillites. We will be returning.

lovely laid out site

I think this as been one of the nicest laid out sites. Lots of little nooks and crannies to have a bit of privacy, although not needed its very quirky. As with all the sites visited very friendly and very clean.

Great site, lovely area

We didn't know this part of England so it came as a pleasant surprise that there was so much to see and do within a short distance from the site. Our pitch was shady and quiet and I liked that the pitches were in little groups. The facilities were excellent and the wardens helpful and welcoming. The dog walk leads onto a delightful footpath with stunning views. We will be back.

Great Site

First of all very helpful and friendly wardens nothing too much trouble for them to help. Site layout relaxed and not all regimented in rows which helps provide the peace and quiet if that is what you want. Everywhere kept immaculate a credit to the hard work of the wardens. A good site to visit all of the different attractions from the dog friendly beaches to castles and historic towns and villages. Major plus point for dog owners is wonderful dog walk adjacent to site which ends at the pub.

Return visit

Excellent site. The warden's were friendly and helpful even though the computer had crashed just before we arrived. We like the varied pitches where, depending upon the weather, you can choose to be in the sun or the shade. A peaceful, relaxing break. Loved it.

1 in the eye for Battle Normanhurst

This was our 2nd visit and we just love this site it is always so clean and tidy but also the Wardens are great, always there if you need help. Our Dog also enjoyed this site, lots of great walks. A pub (White Hart, Catsfield) is in easy walking distance through the Normanhurst estate and is dog friendly.

Enjoyable stay, great Wardens

Stayed here all last week, the warden was really  helpfull in helping us find a pitch which allowed us to lock in to the satellite for tv viewing Really patient with our requests. Clean well cared for site, good base for historic visits to many interesting places. well done Caravan Club.

Mixed pitches

We stayed for 2 nights, our second CC site. We were struck straight away by the difference in staff to the other CC we stayed at. The staff here could improve freindliness, welcome, customer service. The staff here really made us feel that requests were a chore and put us off coming again. The ptiches were mixed, some were beautiful, in sun, grass or hardstanding and others were dark, covered by trees and glomy. We were first directed to very dark sites that resembled a car park. We looked around and saw many other free pitches, selected one an asked if we could pitch there instead. After a long time checking they said we could. I did think that the policy of CC club was you could pitch anywhere (providing you had booked that type of pitch) that was not being used. Some pitches are very far from the services/faciliites so check that when you select a pitch. The childrens playground and pay area were great, our kids are 6 so they found it ideal but its not for younger than 4. There were rabbits everywhere that added to the kids fun. The site itself is green and mature planting that makes it pretty overall. Due to the mxied nature of the ptiches I would be concerned booking in busy periods as to be only left a dark dingy pitch up a hill would not suit most. If you are lucky enough to get a beautiful sunny pitch near the faciliies it would be a super site. However, the staff need to be more helful, responsive, smile etc. not make you feel like a request is a chore. The facilities were very clean and tidy.

weekend stay

The site was perfect in every way except for one thing and that was the play area for children My daughter has 2 under fives and the playground was not equipped in any way for their needs. This was the only disappointing aspect of our stay otherwise it was lovely and would stay again without children.
