Lovely break

The site was lovely in a quiet area with very pleasant and helpful staff . The facilities were spotless clean. In the information room trouble had been taken to produce information on the location of supermarkets close to the site on loose sheets that campers could take away.

Beautiful setting

Stayed here for 2 nights in October, the wardens were friendly, approachable and extremely helpful. Showers and toilets are warm and spotlessly clean. Overall a lovely site, beautiful setting and helpful pleasant wardens. Will most certainly be staying again.

Normanhurst, An Excellent Site

We have just had three days at the Normanhurst Caravan Site (early October) and felt that we really wanted to send a review. We felt it was an excellent site with very friendly and helpful staff. The shower blocks were the cleanest and most pleasant we have ever experienced and we have visited quite a few sites now. The layout of the site was extremely attractive with a lot of space for each outfit. The feeling of space was incredible and it felt really special to us knowing that we were staying in what had once been the gardens of a very prestigious and important house. We would like to thank the wardens sincerely for their hard work keeping this site so beautifully whilst at the same time remaining friendly yet unobtrusive.

A great site. Very well laid out and clean

This was our first visit to the site. The staff were very helpful. The pitches were well laid out and the facilities were modern and clean. Great that there was a play area for the kids. You will need the car to get into town and the surrounding areas but well with a visit. A contented and relaxed stay for the family. Glad I became a member!

2 nights in October

Nice and quiet. I went for the walking and right on the 1066 trail. Unfortunately poor TV signal and no Wifi. Facilities spotless. Pitches well spaced - I had one in solitary isolation which was excellent. Will be going again.

Beautiful surroundings

This is one of my favourite Club sites. Pitches are really well laid out in beautifully landscaped surroundings. The facilities are to usual Club standards and the site is well located just off the main round to Battle, which is well worth a visit. It is also worth a walk to the The White Hart in Catsfield - good food and local ales. Only gripe is that early arrivals can block the drive to exit the site - members should adhere to the rules around arrival times...

Excellent Site

I agree with the vast majority of previous reviewers regarding this site and we certainly hope to return to this site. If we had a caravan I would say this site was perfect but having a motor home I have to mark it down slightly as regards location. There is so much to see with in the local area as well as slightly further afield but there is no local public transport. I would suggest that if you are a motor home owner and don't want to drive off site, do what we did and hire a car. Lack of the public transport will not deter us from visiting this site again hopefully.

Special Thanks to Wardens John and Susan

Stayed for 5 nights in late September. I want to tell you that the wardens John and Susan came to our rescue to make an excellent temporary repair of a broken window on our caravan. John and Susan worked wonders with a roll of DuckTape and a tube of sealant. I was very grateful for their skilled help to rescue what was looking like a spoiled 5-day visit. Can't thank them enough. The site is great - nice surroundings and well kept. The wardens keep the washrooms spotless. Enjoyed our visit: the town of Rye is really nice.

Well maintained and secluded site

We have visited this site on several occasions and always enjoy our stay. Generally a peaceful site with the children's play area set at the far end of the site, so it is possible to choose a pitch at a distance from where all the noise and excitement is. Well maintained gardens and facilities, it has a handy little shop in reception. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. There is also a lovely dog walk through a heavily forested area. Close to all amenities yet in a quiet secluded setting. Perfect for days out in Hastings and for a visit to the 1066 battle site. Certainly one of the nicest sites we have stayed on and we would recommend highly.

One of the nicest sites we've stayed on

This is a lovely site, well laid out so that it doesn't seem as big as it is, and there is the opportunity to pitch among the trees almost without neighbours, certainly when it's not busy. The site is very well looked after, the shower blocks were immaculate, and the grass and landscaping were also well cared for. There are a couple of play areas, one with play equipment and one for ball games, set in what looked like an old tennis court. There is good dog walking from the site. There is plenty to go and see in the area, but as we have a motorhome and didn't want to move it we used Enterprise and hired a car for a few days. Last but not least the wardens were helpful and friendly, and very welcoming. We would definitely go back to this site again.
