Fantastic site and staff

The best welcome ever. We were greeted by name rather than being asked for our name upon arrival. Karen and Paul were the best and during our stay they were very helpful with answering our questions on walks to Catsfield (local pub) and the town of Battle. Karen also recommended places to go and how best to get there. The site was lovely and clean, and nicely laid out across a number of tiers. If you want shade there are plenty of options, not so many with sun all day, but you will get sun at some point during the day. There were 2 facilities blocks and they were spotless. The pitch we were on (143) was flat so no need for blocks. There is a dog area and also a dog walk just outside the gate. The motorhome service point was easy to use. We liked this site and would return and would definitely recommend to anyone.

Another lovely stay at Normanhurst Court

We would like to thank all the wardens at Normanhurst Court for a lovely stay. The welcome we had on Saturday 9th was so welcoming and friendly which set the scene for the brilliant way this site is run. The flowers are beautiful at the Reception and the grounds are so wonderful without being too ‘manicured’. Unfortunately we have had to leave early but want to thank you all for your hard work. Chris & Robin (pitch 102).

Normansland Battle Campsite

a great site, staff very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. has spacious pitches which are segregated into different areas. Toilet block and facilities were clean and modern looking inside. site is next to a national trail so great for walking, although with a dog, it will need to be on a lead near the site due to sheep. It was beautifully tidy and a tranquil site, would recommend

One of our favourites

We made a last minute booking for this site in August 2023. We were pleased we came as this is now one of our favourite sites. It’s in a great location fro visiting the area. If you have dogs the area is perfect - there’s an on lead dog walk area on site and some excellent places to walk if you want to exercise them off lead. We often went to Reeves Wood ( turn right out of site and second left - half mile on right.) lots of local pubs close by and found some great beaches - most dog friendly too. The site is immaculate and the wardens are both helpful and friendly. We liked the layout of this site, as not just one large area but divided into cul de sacs on different levels.

Great site with exceptional wardens

We visited this site over the bank holiday with our granddaughter. The site is beautifully laid out and the facilities fresh and clean. Having recently stayed at a commercial site where the toilet block was old, tired and definitely not clean we don't take this for granted. The play area was great for our granddaughter. The icing on the cake was the exceptional friendliness and care of the wardens. From a friendly welcome despite it being the business day of the season, the wardens were out and about helping people get into their pitches, walking around the site in the evening, always with a pleasant greeting, they really went the second mile to make our stay and the other caravaners stay a great experience so many to Paul and Karen and the team (sorry I cant remember the names of the other wardens)

Just a lovely place to chill out

Although this site has a lot of pitches, somehow it seems very private and secluded if you pick one of the cul-de-sac areas. The wardens are approachable and friendly, with unusually a great sense of humour and common sense. We had a bit of a family crisis with a 5 year old falling over and knocking his head. They were there to help in moments and professionally handled a difficult situation, bless 'em. They keep the whole place trimmed, polished and immaculate too. The only slight drawback for us was the dog walk. OK in summer but in bad weather a mudslide, though to be fair there is a large pile of wood chippings at the top to combat this. When making the point, we were advised that the solution was an enclosed area, similar to the Littlehampton site, which would shortly be under construction and open by the end of the season. There is a pleasant walk into Catsfield along a well maintained farm track, with a good pub at the end, serving good food and drink. Easy access to Hastings, Bexhill and Eastbourne by car. This is a top place to stay for a short break or a longer holiday

A site with a greater level of separation and an improved feeling of privacy.

We stayed at this site from 5th to 10 June 2023. It's a very nice site with many small groups of pitches. The small groups of pitches give a greater level of separation and an improved feeling of privacy by comparison to other more open plan sites. The staff we came in to contact with were friendly and very helpful. We would stay at this site again.

Great Place To Stay

Clean well looked after site with good walking routes to a pub (~1 mile) in Catsfield and Battle (~3 miles) itself. Staff friendly and helpful.

Lovely site

We stayed here for a week in July and had a great holiday. The staff are wonderful, welcoming us on arrival and really helpful throughout our stay. The site is quite spread out with lots of small sections so it feels very intimate, and we had a lovely spot (113) where we had views across the fields of the Normanhurst Estate. The facilities were spotless, and the whole site was clean and well maintained. There are so many places to visit nearby and I would recommend Battle Abbey and the battlefield tour, Sissinghust Castle Gardens, Batemans (home of Rudyard Kipling) and Rye (all cobble streets and half-timbered buildings). The Squirrel Inn (5 min down the road to Battle) does a good Sunday Roast.

Stayed here as a base for touring with our tow-car. Excellent!

Arrived 15th July. We received the warmest of welcomes from Karen and Paul, who were so helpful in recommending and securing the best pitch for our needs. The site is beautifully laid out and maintained and facilities are first class. Outstanding in every respect. What more could we wish for? Visited Herstmonceaux Castle and Windmill, Battle Abbey, Great Dixter, Pashley Manor and Gardens, Michelham Priory, also Robertsbridge historic village ... all excellent! Also rang church bells at Battle, Hailsham and Salehurst. Left on 20th July; we bade a fond farewell to Karen and Paul - just like saying cheerio to good friends ................ and hope to see you again very soon!!
