Nice to return

Great site, wonderful walks, friendly staff. So sad to hear the plans of the Normanhurst Estate to build Centre Parcs in the fields next to the site!

Start of season

So I don’t leave reviews here normally as we stay here all the time and love the site as a whole ….. I would say this year first stay 7 members of staff and there was a lot of twigs on the pitches the bollards hadn’t been turned on, leaves in the gutters. I would say first year where I have found it not ready. The site as a whole is stunning, most of the time quiet but kids are very well catered for and if you have kids pitch near the bottom toilet block then they are near the park and football court. The staff are friendly and welcoming and Sam the manager went out of his way to help when asked.

Gem in East Sussex

We had a lovely ten night stay here. The site is well laid out within mature trees and there is plenty of space between pitches. The site and the facilities were well maintained on a daily basis and the wardens were helpful and friendly. The on-site dog walk served its purpose but additionally there are longer footpath walks, one of which is to Catsfield Village with a pleasant pub and convenience store. There are many places to visit such as Battle Abbey, Bodiam Castle and the Kent and East Sussex Heritage Railway. Beaches are not too far away by car and we and our dogs particularly enjoyed Camber Sands. Our only concern relates to the site exit from the site directly onto the main road. The speed limit is 60mph and there are bends on both sides of the exit. Vehicles, including heavy lorries, pass the entrance / exit at least the maximum permitted speed. This makes turning right out of the site a lottery, particularly when towing at the end of the stay. Pressure should be put on the local authority to introduce a 30 / 40 mph limit for 100 yards on both sides of the entrance / exit, regulated by speed cameras.

A beautiful site

We had visited this site many years ago and decided it was time for a return visit. After a warm welcome from the site staff we chose a lovely sunny pitch and had a look around the site. We were very impressed with the facilities blocks which were spotlessly clean and the grounds were very well maintained - during our visit the site staff were seen in several places on the site carrying out maintenance to the grounds and buildings. There is an easy walk to Battle along the 1066 trail and so many other walks in the area too. A beautiful site and one that we would love to return to again.

Relaxing break in peaceful surroundings

This has quickly become one of our favourite sites. The wardens are very friendly, always a smile to greet you. The facilities are very clean and we loved the layout of the site, the different areas cater for everyone. It is a remote site but a lovely walk to friendly pub. The surrounding area has so many things to see and do. We were there for 5 nights which was not long enough so booked to go back in May. We were sorry to leave but looking forward to returning

Great site. Great staff, Great location

Another great stay at Battle. Clean and tidy, great wardens helpful and friendly. Fantastic location Bexhill on sea is a great seaside town well worth a visit 20 mins away. Ideal for restaurants and great for crabbing with the children. Second time this year, was there for the Jubilee celebrations. Great fun. Well worth visiting great location

Our favourite site

We have just returned from our 5th holiday this year at beautiful Normanhurst Court . We love it and have been coming here for years so are qualified to notice change. The site is usually buzzing at this time of year with People walking about smiling, people chatting outside there vans with friends day or night, children running around playing, bringing the site to life and usually it’s fully booked. Not this time, the site seemed dull with hardly anyone chatting outside with friends, some people won’t even make eye contact to say hello, hardly any children and loads of free spaces. What has happened, is it now to expensive or are people going abroad, is no onsite shop a reason after years of having it or has something else changed. We love this site but for some reason people are not coming .We hope it gets back its beautiful appeal soon and starts to come alive again.

Lovely site

I have been to this site twice recently. It is in a lovely location with very spacious pitches. The wardens are all extremely welcoming and friendly and the facilities are spotless. There is a nice country walk down to the local pub at Catsfield. There is nice play park for the children plus a fenced in area where they can play ball games without fear of a ball landing on a pitch.
