Good base to explore the city

This is the first time we have stayed in the middle of a city as we usually prefer quiet rural sites, it was definitely an urban site - but a little gem for exploring Bristol.  Though I have a few mobility issues, I was able to walk in to the central area to explore and it was a lovely walk along the riverside. Thought the site was a bit cramped - but maybe that's to be expected due to its location. Glad we weren't sited against the outer wall with the heavy traffic going past. We stayed mid May and midweek and the site was full then. Would like to return to see more of Bristol. Staff were friendly and helpful and the site was clean and tidy if not very picturesque.

Grey chippings everywhere

Firstly, berated by warden 1 for arriving 10 minutes early then berated by warden 2 for parking where warden 1 said.... Not a good start. We remember this site as being a little oasis in the middle of Bristol but not now. Swaths of dull grey chippings and awningless pitches as the Club tries to rake in the money and squeeze as many in as possible whilst their tenure of the site lasts, no worries about fire gaps here. Sad. We are lucky we only have a small caravan and porch awning and managed to squeeze everything on to the extremely small pitch although it was probably one of the best ones on site. The only reason we would return is that we have family in Bristol and the location. Bristol is a beautiful city and being right on the floating harbour is ideal for exploring its many attractions. One word of warning, if you are lucky enough to get one of the rare and small pitches that apparently accommodate an car, caravan and awning, bring along a jack-hammer or you will never get the pegs in!

An Oasis in a City

A excellent well run site with super wardens. Ideal location for exploring the City. Great ferry service and bus service from site gates including the open top bus. We had a great time and will hopefully be back!

Our stay at Baltic Wharf

Arrived at 12.05 Thursday for a 10 day stay. Wardens very helpful but could only offer us a choice of 2 pitches caravan+ awning, one behind the wall with the main road behind it or one in the middle under the trees. We chose not to be under the trees so took pitch no 1. Constant noise from the road with the van sensing the heavy vehicles passing the other side of the wall. We stayed on this site last year in July and had much more choice. We have noticed that the number of white pegs has been cut back to just a few whereas there is now an abundance of blue pegs. It seems that the club does not want us to have an awning so that more vans can be crammed in. Site very well kept as usual with the back gate available to enter the lovely harbour. Thank you Wardens.

Excellent site with so much to do and see.

We had a lovely week here. With the unique location of the site there is so much to enjoy, right on the doorstep. We filled every day with walks into Bristol along the river, the SS Great Britain, M shed, open top bus tour which stops outside the site, and NT houses as well as enjoying the local pubs. The site itself is well run, kept very clean and tidy and the facilities were adequate and spotless. Well done CC for providing a site with a different location to the norm. (The guide on the open top bus did say that they were not now building a school on the site, lets hope this means a reprieve)

Overcrowded Carpark

The site is good for the center of Bristol, with the current roadworks it is dificult to find ,a better entrance sign would help.It seems to be Caravan Club policy now to maximise all space, most of the green space has gone and all you do is park allong a wall on very grey gravel not a family site The toilet blocks are as usual very clean, but carrying your rubbish to a large dumpster bin which was full with a very heavy lid is no joke the motor home disposal point is poorly located as it gets blocked with traffic and is difficult to access if your wast outlet is on the offside of your vehicle I am so glad I was not pitched in front of of it

Baltic Wharf Bristol

Excellent site, close to river taxis to Bristol City Centre. Good pub nearby and lots of activities going on, on the river. Highly recommended

One of our favourite CC sites

Absolutely love this site. Thankfully they didn't close it in 2015 and long may it stay open! Great little site, all hard standing pitches, right in the middle of the city. Good facilities on site, small shop (McColls - expensive!) just a 5 minute walk from the site and a great pub (the Cottage Inn) next door. The back gate opens out to the waterside which takes you alongside the river directly into Bristol. Lots to see and do in this wonderful city. OK it's not easy to get a pitch here but book early, we do! It's our little oasis in the city and we look forward seeing in 2017 here as we've managed to book a pitch!
