Location, location, location

This was my third visit to Bristol and I had no reason to imagine that it would be any different to previously and so it proved. It remains a somewhat scruffy, cramped site shoe-horned into a little over two acres of prime Bristolian land; but with a location that more than makes up for these short comings. That this is the only site to which I am a serial visitor speaks volumes about its positive traits. Everyone knows these. A beautiful outlook once you pass through the gate onto the harbour side; lots to see and do and lots of places to eat or drink just by exploring both sides of the harbour; an easy walk into the city centre or use a ferry boat for even easier and quicker access (though the cost of these mounts up if you use them regularly); buses outside (ideal for carless motorhomers) to Temple Meads and then further afield or round the corner for Clevedon (definitely worth a visit) or other places; a good 30 minute walk for the fitter up the hill into posh Clifton village and then to the awe inspiring bridge. Apart from being unkempt, I don’t like the apparent lack of the usual pitching rules. I pay a rent for a pitch and I expect it to be unencumbered by other people’s cars, table and chairs, awning or other paraphernalia. There are very clear negatives here and were it not for the situation, I would not dream of visiting this place; but sometimes location really is everything and this is one case in point. I will still come back here so long as the CC manages to hang onto it. Long may that be. Furthermore, in response to the reviewer below, I will continue to book an awning pitch despite not using an awning, especially here given the cheek by jowl nature of the place. But I would be happy to pay extra for this privilege.

Baltic Wharf

Hope this site does not close as it is obviously very popular. The toilet block could do with updating but the CC is not going to spend money when the site is on a 3 month notice is it.

Spoilt only by a few inconsiderate people

Just returned from this wonderful site hope the club can keep it as long as possible, great for visiting Bristol Christmas market and other shops in town. We were there for 6 nights and 5 out of the 6 we were the only unit to have and awning up yet all the awning pitches were full! Time the club charged those that book awning pitches just to have a bit more space, for 2 nights there was a small VW camper taking up an awning pitch. I have tried to book awning pitches in the past and couldn't, but managed to book non-awning pitch for the time I wanted, only to arrive and see several awning pitches used by motorhomes or caravans that have no intention of putting up an awning. I for one would pay extra to put up my awning but maybe it is time the club made members that book awning pitches and don't put an awning up pay extra!!! It might stop them.

While I am having a little moan this site was only spoilt by inconsiderate members that seem unable to close a door without slamming it, Please Please think of other people when you open and close your doors and that goes for caravans, cars and motorhomes owners. Thank you.

Preserve this site!

Not the first time we have stayed here.  It is so well situated for a visit to Bristol.  Well maintained, and the staff are both helpful and amicable.  There are only 2 problems really: one is that due to its popularity and can be hard to get a booking; and the second is the threat to its lease and that it may suddenly cease to exist.  It would be a tragedy to lose this side to "development".

Very interesting place to stay lots to se close by

This small site is perfect visiting the City of Bristol a bus stop outside the gate to the City Centre or take an interesting walk along the quay. This very popular site is threatened with closure I hope the Club will do everything possible to ensure this site will remain open.

Great as always

A lovely site, so close to everything, always so difficult to get booked in but worth it when you can.

A shame it's going

We visit Baltic Wharf for family reasons fairly frequently and we really like the sites location. It is a shame that it's life is limited. If you did not want to, or as in our case you need to, the car could stay parked all week. If you are reasonably fit shopping is available on foot at the nearby Asda. Or you can catch the bus from outside the site to Wine Street, and walk to M&S in Broadmead. A very nice if expensive deli has recently opened along by Mshed on Gaol ferry steeps. Lots of walks to suit all levels of fitness are available from the back gate, from a short walk to the cafe at the Great Britain or Mshed, to up the side of the gorge and onto the suspension bridge.

Great city location

An excellent site for visits to Bristol, ideally placed for taking the water taxi or bus into town.  Some good pubs locally and lots more pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance.  The (uphill) walk up to Clifton is worth the effort for views and for mingling with the younger set out enjoying themselves.  About a 1 mile walk to Ashton Gate stadium to watch the rugby (or football).  Couldn't be better for visiting family in Bristol.

Superb site and service

My wife and I desperately wanted to come to Bristol on weekend 5th November to meet up with family. Wardens did a fantastic job advising of cancellations and going so far as to booking pitch for us with our prior agreement when available. As always the site was welcoming, clean, friendly and great. Back again in January and February 2017 With many thanks Great place with family lots to see and do excellent culture and great pubs!!
