Excellent location for access by foot

We managed to get a weekend at this hard to book site and arrived on Friday 17th March. The weather was very blustery so ear plugs were needed for the noise of the adjacent yacht club halyards, otherwise a very peaceful site. The location is absolutely perfect on the promenade along the floating harbour. If you are able to climb a rather steep hill then the walk to the Clifton Suspension Bridge, with it's visitor centre is easily managed. Clifton Village is also rather nice to visit with plenty of eateries etc. The furthest shopping centre is only about a brisk 40 minute walk away with everything in between. The floating harbour side has many free attractions and there was boat racing in the dock over that weekend. There is an abundance of pubs and restaurants all within easy reach and an open top touring bus passes the site gates as well as the water busses stopping outside. The site facilities are a bit under par in my view compared to most Club sites we have visited, understandably no cash investment due to the tenancy but this is not reflected in the site fees. Spotlessly clean as you would expect. A full site, which is the norm, meant there was some queuing for showers and toilets at times. Very helpful wardens.

Not just an excellent location but an excellent site too

Great location - easy 25-30 minute walk into Bristol centre. Bus stop just outside the site too. More than that though - it's a very well run site: clean, friendly and with all essential facilities. We'll be doing our best to return as soon as we can.

First visit to this site, despite the weather W/E 18/3, a good time

We have wanted to try this site for a while, we couldn't have picked a worse weekend weather wise, however, it was still a very good weekend. The site is clean and tidy, secure and the wardens friendly. The toilet block are not the best, however when there is always a threat to close the site, why invest too much. They are perfectly adequate. The location is great, walk either way and you come to bars, shops, sights etc. There seems to be plenty of Pubs that allow dogs, the closest and perhaps the best, is the Pump House, nice drinks, atmosphere and good food. We shall definitely be back.

Another excellent return to a favoured site. all the good comments in other reviews are true.

We inadvertently tested the wardens when having changed pitch we returned, not the the unwanted pitch key fob, but our house keys. The warden Anthony realised which 'eejits' had done this and very courteously came and put us right. The wardens are running a great site just as it should be, I cannot reccomend them highly enough. Another enjoyable visit

We enjoyed another three days here at this great site as we have managed to stay here quite a number of times. It is so convenient to explore Bristol and its environment whilst staying here. We had a lovely pitch and the sun shone for us too.

Great Site BUT

Absolutely no problems with the site. A great shame that it might be lost to development. We would agree with all the positives from other members. BUT Who on earth designed the new logo and board marking the site? This is our second visit and I actually drove past the entrance. Fortunately it was a Sunday and I was able to reverse some 10 yards to be able to swing into the entrance. Who changed the colour from a strong GREEN to an insipid blue? I agree with the addition of Motorhomes but not at the expense of all the Caravan owners. The logo is quite clever in incorporating CCM but it just makes the M overbearing. I thought it was a new McDonalds! Rant over.

Great first stay, hopefully not the last!

We had been wanting to stay at this site for a while but had no luck with booking dates we wanted until now. Having visited now, we can certainly see why it is so popular. The site is especially good for visitors with motorhomes as its central location makes the use of a vehicle unnecessary. It is possible to walk straight out onto the path along the dock and into the city centre. We received a warm welcome on arrival and were given all the information needed. We were able to choose a pitch from three available, all pitches appeared spacious and fairly level, though some units were making use of levelling ramps. The motorhome service point is easily accessible. Toilet and shower blocks are heated and were immaculate when we were there. It is useful to have one unisex toilet available for when facilities are being cleaned. Although the site is on a main road, and our pitch was at the road end, it was quiet at night and we had an excellent two night stay. We will certainly visit again.

Exceptional Service from Wardens

We have stayed here many times and we managed to book one night over half-term on a Thursday on our way back from Southampton. On the off chance we phoned to see if there was space on Fri and were told yes, but we would have to change pitch(non-awning to awning). No problem for us and when we arrived I also asked if there was space on Sat as well and was told there was. After about 10 mins on the computer the really helpful warden managed to jiggle things around so that we could stay on the same pitch for 3 nights! So much easier for us and so much appreciated - thank you again!! The best thing about the site is the location right on the waterfront. A half hour stroll to town or 10 min in the water taxi which stops by the pub adjacent to the site. Also the bus stop outside the site is very convenient. The toilet block is small but nowadays most people tend to use their own facilities so not so many queues for showers etc as there used to be. No play area for youngsters so better really for adults and older children. All in all another great short break, and such a shame if the council do not renew the lease again.

Exceptional location

We stayed at Baltic Wharf for 2 nights in early February - unfortunately we were unable to stay for longer due to the popularity of the site. It is situated in the City and having arrived and settled in we exited through the back door with supplied key directly onto the wharf and alighted an approaching small ferry for the 15 minute ride into the City Centre. Bristol is a thriving City with such a choice of eateries and watering holes. The nearby SS GB exhibition, a 5 minute walk from the site was really interesting and refreshments after were enjoyed at an unassuming looking nearby pub The Orchard with an extensive range of real ales and tasty lunch snacks. The walk up to Clifton Village was well worthwhile as was the (free) Visitors Centre at the impressive suspension bridge with equally impressive views. We ate at San Carlo in the Centre and also Fishers in Clifton Village and both are highly recommended. This really is a gem of a site. We experienced no noise issues and it was both friendly and facilities well maintained and clean. Long may this remain a Caravan and Motorhome site!

Superb City Location

This site is perfect for walking into the city centre, with many attractions along the way. If you look carefully you will even spot a Banksy! The warden on arrival was very friendly and gave us a choice of the 3 pitches available. It is such a popular site, you have to book early. A key is given for the gate to the waterside and within 10 minutes you are in the hart of the city. There is a pub next to the site if you don't want to venture far. Overall, an excellent site, for Bristol.
