Always fully booked!

I don't know any site so difficult to get a booking. I just tried (in October) and the first availability of any sort is January. That cannot be real surely, and we have also had the experience of getting a cancellation, but that's no way to run the site. If it is real then the club should put the price up, and take full payment at the time of booking.

One of the best, but false bookings spoil it for the genuine.

We love Bristol and therefore, Baltic Wharf is one of our favourite sites. It's location is superb. The City Council are also aware of this and keep threatening to requisition it. This would be a backward step in my view, as the site is always full and if everyone's like us, they spend a small fortune, all year round, within the City. The current staff are excellent and whilst the facilities are always oversubscribed, they're always clean and well maintained. My one gripe is a general one aimed at the C&MH Club. This site is one of the first to have all its weekends booked up in the first days after booking commences. Invariably, because the Club don't take deposits, many thoughtless members book weekends up on line and then when their year pans out later, they cancel, with no loss to themselves at all. This time, we were only able to book Monday to Wednesday, despite booking last December. Sure enough, when we asked (Whilst on site) to see if Thursday was available due to any cancellations, the staff kindly offered to ring us if one occurred. Sure enough, within an hour, a cancellation came in. Then we asked the same about Friday evening. Yes, you guessed it. The same occurred and somebody else cancelled, so we stayed till Saturday. Whilst this was all very good for our stay, it merely illustrates the clubs admin problem. Start taking deposits, or it will always continue.

Set right in the heart of Bristol floating harbour with access to all Bristol's attractions without having to use the car.Much has been said before about the Club losing this site so it will be a massive loss to the Club and local pubs, restaurants etc. Walks to Clifton village ( hilly on way up) suspension bridge, banksy, cathedral,M shed, and Broadmead shopping centre for the wife. At least I have managed a visit because it is nearly always fully booked.

Popular site - no wonder!

Great position by the river with easy walk into Bristol past SS Great Britain. Pub almost outside the back gate and a cafe within 5 minute walk. River taxi on one side and bus stop on the other.Friendly and efficient wardens. Prime location so no doubt under pressure from developers - can't let that happen. Only downside was the amount of roadworks in Bristol but, hey, they can't last forever!

Fantastic location, very clean, great staff!

We have been trying to stay at this site for a long time and eventually managed to book. We can now understand why it is normally fully booked as the location is fantastic with a pub, The Cottage, a water taxi, a bus stop and a convenience store all just outside the site. There is so much to see and do in Bristol and the water taxi was very reasonably priced £5.00 per adult for all day travel with numerous stops around the city (don't forget your club membership card for 10% discount!). The site itself was immaculately clean with generous sized pitches and very friendly staff. If you want to put up an awning make sure you have some rock pegs as it is all hard standing. Can't wait to book again

Fantastic

What a fantastic site. Location is great for motorhomes no need to get a bus. Right on the river and a lovely walk into town. Life couldn't get better ,pub right on the river. Carnt believe there trying to close this site, you don't get much chance in motorhome to be right in the centre of everything. Do the council not realise how much caravan and motorhome us bring in to local economy. Let's hope they don't get there way !!!!! Hopefully will be back in Bristol very soon .

BRILLIANT BRISTOL

We've just returned from a fantastic six nights at this, our favourite site on the network. Bristol is a very special city, with everything you could possibly wish for to guarantee a fun packed break. The vibrancy of this beautiful city it just perfect for us. We said a very sad goodbye when we left on Sunday, knowing that, most probably, barring a miracle, we will never visit that lovely site again, due to the impending closure. Let's just hope the Club manages to secure another site within the same area, as we are already having withdrawal symptoms! We would like to offer a word of advice however, to all dog owners who visit this, and any other site on the network. PLEASE, PLEASE keep your furry friends on leads at all times and take them out in the morning, instead of kicking them out onto the pitch, allowing them to urinate and goodness knows what else around other people's outfits. The couple next door to us did just this with their two large dogs (you know who you are) and I had to go round to tell them the dogs were peeing around our Motorhome! This site does not have a dog walk, so why bring two large dogs to a city site? It ought to be, NO DOG WALK, NO DOGS surely!? The Club really does need to think about this. Rant over - our thanks go to the lovely relief wardens (and Anthony and Christian) who, over the years have been just brilliant.

Little Gem

Just had a 6night stay here. I first like to say that I really hope the club manage to keep hold of this site & it remains open. Although the site is a little crammed & our first time of using a Non awning pitch it was perfect for our needs. The wardens were lovely & friendly & always acknowledged you as they went past. It's location is fantastic. Out the back gate you are right on the harbour. Pub within 100yds with a great view seating area & plenty of other pubs restaurants & cafes within easy reach. City centre is an easy walk or you can take the river ferry which does discount when showing CMClub card. Although it was fine for us if you don't want to be waken early don't pitch against the back hedge that backs onto the harbour it did get quite noisy from early on with early morning with rowers & joggers etc. If this stays open we will definately be returning.

Wardens

Just come back from Baltic Wharf which we love just hope The Caravan Club can keep on renewing their Lease. I have to praise the Wardens (Anthony & Christian) who were so helpful and always waved to me when they saw me or had a quick word. I find people only too quick to criticize the Wardens but don't always praise them.
