BRILLIANT BRISTOL

We've just returned from a fantastic six nights at this, our favourite site on the network. Bristol is a very special city, with everything you could possibly wish for to guarantee a fun packed break. The vibrancy of this beautiful city it just perfect for us. We said a very sad goodbye when we left on Sunday, knowing that, most probably, barring a miracle, we will never visit that lovely site again, due to the impending closure. Let's just hope the Club manages to secure another site within the same area, as we are already having withdrawal symptoms! We would like to offer a word of advice however, to all dog owners who visit this, and any other site on the network. PLEASE, PLEASE keep your furry friends on leads at all times and take them out in the morning, instead of kicking them out onto the pitch, allowing them to urinate and goodness knows what else around other people's outfits. The couple next door to us did just this with their two large dogs (you know who you are) and I had to go round to tell them the dogs were peeing around our Motorhome! This site does not have a dog walk, so why bring two large dogs to a city site? It ought to be, NO DOG WALK, NO DOGS surely!? The Club really does need to think about this. Rant over - our thanks go to the lovely relief wardens (and Anthony and Christian) who, over the years have been just brilliant.

Little Gem

Just had a 6night stay here. I first like to say that I really hope the club manage to keep hold of this site & it remains open. Although the site is a little crammed & our first time of using a Non awning pitch it was perfect for our needs. The wardens were lovely & friendly & always acknowledged you as they went past. It's location is fantastic. Out the back gate you are right on the harbour. Pub within 100yds with a great view seating area & plenty of other pubs restaurants & cafes within easy reach. City centre is an easy walk or you can take the river ferry which does discount when showing CMClub card. Although it was fine for us if you don't want to be waken early don't pitch against the back hedge that backs onto the harbour it did get quite noisy from early on with early morning with rowers & joggers etc. If this stays open we will definately be returning.

Wardens

Just come back from Baltic Wharf which we love just hope The Caravan Club can keep on renewing their Lease. I have to praise the Wardens (Anthony & Christian) who were so helpful and always waved to me when they saw me or had a quick word. I find people only too quick to criticize the Wardens but don't always praise them.

Great central location 😎

Just returned from a 3 night stay. Great location, as you walk out of the rear gate your on the quay side and surrounding by decent pubs and bars. Some great walks along the docks, into town for shopping or towards Clifton which again has some nice shops and of course Clifton suspension bridge (worth a walk to) This site is a Gem so can't understand why they're trying to close it. Must generate some income for the local businesses. As for the site itself. Toilet blocks clean but a little dated. Noisy due to local traffic at night and a little dull or grey due to the masses of grey stones. We stayed on the large circle area as you enter the site which is mainly none awning pitches, these are a little cramped and doesn't help when Curtain members park as they wish with their door exiting into our already cramped sitting area. Wardens didn't want to know which was a poor effort. Otherwise great site and met some great people. With the exception of obnoxious neighbour. A gem of a site which deserves fighting to keep 😎 defiantly staying again. 😎 Dave & Tracy.

Fabulous site - great for Bristol

Location is everything with this site being so central for Bristol. The site is small and compact, hardstanding pitches. Ideal for experiencing what Bristol has to offer and right on riverside edge. Everything we wanted within walking distance. 30-40min walk into central Bristol along the waterside paths. Similar, but steep walk to Bristol Suspension Bridge. Ferry available at a discounted price just outside of the site. Well kept shower block, laundry facilities etc. Christian and Anthony, the wardens were brilliant! So understanding and helpful when I got into a predicament with a back injury, so much appreciated.

It's great for a visit to Bristol

I did not give this site 5 stars because although the site was perfectly clean and well kept, plus the wardens could not be faulted being friendly and helpful; the road noise could be troublesome and it was about a 25 to 30 min walk to the millennium square. Which was further than we had anticipated. Also rather clinical in appearance owing to the use of grey gravel. However, this is still a great site for Bristol with so much to see and do. The tour bus stops right outside and the club should fight to keep it as the council are shortsighted in trying to close it down.

Short Break

Just returned from Baltic Wharf.2.30pm didn't expect to still get a good choice of pitch.Level and not too near road. Its all about location here.yes trees need a trim and toilet block a bit tired but is still well worth fighting to keep it open.We have been coming here for over 20 years.I don't think about how much money we have spent in and around Bristol over the years. Its very short sighted of the council to not appreciate the Club and its members. Is there anyone who thinks a school is a good idea ????. Really hope its still open next year, with the same nice wardens.

Perfect site for visiting Bristol

Very clean, well maintained site - like a little oasis in the city centre. Very friendly staff. Easy walking distance into centre of Bristol. We will definitely be back.

Visit Bristol

To book this site I had to be on the computor as soon as booking opened. The reason is that it is IN Bristol. The cite is very flat and relatively small. You leave by a gate to the dockside and from there get a ferry to the centre or walk to the "SS Great Britain" Brunels magnificent screw ship. This , in my opinion, is one of the greatest attractions in UK. Bristol has manny attractions so you will not find time heavy on your hands. From the main gate there is a frequent bus service which you can take to the Railway Station. The reception and facilities are excellent. As dog owner my only criticism is there is virtually nowhere to walk dogs. Our dog was very old so that was not a problem but anyone with a lively dog would have difficulty.
