Brilliant location

6 nights over October half term It’s took 10 years of trying to get on this site madness!!!! Brilliant location walked in to Bristol most days loads of restaurants and bars round the docks we went to za za bazar Monday if you download the voucher £9.99 each. Clean and tidy site we had no water one night but the warden let us no so we could fill up. Very friendly wardens reading the reviews I hope the club keep the site it’s lovely staying in the heart of a city not having to drive x

Spotless facilities and site but not faultless

Stayed 25/10/17 for one night. After trying to book the site for 5 months and checking the website every night during that time, 4 days before we were attending a concert in Bristol a pitch suddenly became free, obviously because of a cancellation. So I was very pleased as we could now walk to our gig and not have to get an expensive taxi from a pub carpark we were going to park our motorhome in. On arrival, I was impressed the site is very well kept and a credit to the wardens, the pitch we were given was large and spacious and in the middle by the trees, so felt more secluded than the pitches around the perimeter of the site. Its was great to have gate keys too, so we could come and go as we pleased at night. The facilities were equally spotless, well kept and impressive. However, it wasn't a problem as such but because we had to rate the peace of quite of our visit I feel I should mention that my children were watching a DVD and we had to turn up the tv, louder than we wanted to for 2 reasons. 1. The warden going around the site with a petrol leaf blower (however I realise this is necessary) 2. We could hear the football supporters shouting over the tv every time a goal was scored! Also I was woken up in the morning buy sliding doors on campervans, water barrels rolling on the tarmac and people stood by our motorhome talking loudly. Yes this was at 9am but we were out late at the music gig the night before. All in all a good spot but at £30 for one night it is expensive, as most club sites seem to be to be fair. We had a quieter nights sleep the following night in a roadside layby and were not woken up! We will visit the site again, if a pitch is available, but only to go to another Bristol gig or attraction. But would recommend especially as the wardens kept it in such great order.

Could not agree more

My wife and myself both have family in Bristol and love to visit during August or September for a minimum of two weeks, we try to book as soon as the bookings open but have never managed to book the two weeks as the weekends are always fully booked. We therefore booked for a week having to pull of on Friday to another site and return on the Monday because of weekend bookings, we asked the wardens if they could let us know if any cancellations came in, however by 11'oclock on the Friday there were no cancellations so we broke down the awning started to pack up when then, you've guessed it a cancellation came in so we basically wasted our Friday packing up and then setting up again. Don't get me wrong, I agree that the club is for everyone, weekenders or longer term bookings, my gripe is that members who book early and then cancel without any penalties is just not fair. I totally agree with some other member's that a deposit, or full payment should be taken when booking, especially on these popular sites. When we visit Bristol now, this year for three weeks we stayed at a non Club site which is not our first choice!

Always fully booked!

I don't know any site so difficult to get a booking. I just tried (in October) and the first availability of any sort is January. That cannot be real surely, and we have also had the experience of getting a cancellation, but that's no way to run the site. If it is real then the club should put the price up, and take full payment at the time of booking.

One of the best, but false bookings spoil it for the genuine.

We love Bristol and therefore, Baltic Wharf is one of our favourite sites. It's location is superb. The City Council are also aware of this and keep threatening to requisition it. This would be a backward step in my view, as the site is always full and if everyone's like us, they spend a small fortune, all year round, within the City. The current staff are excellent and whilst the facilities are always oversubscribed, they're always clean and well maintained. My one gripe is a general one aimed at the C&MH Club. This site is one of the first to have all its weekends booked up in the first days after booking commences. Invariably, because the Club don't take deposits, many thoughtless members book weekends up on line and then when their year pans out later, they cancel, with no loss to themselves at all. This time, we were only able to book Monday to Wednesday, despite booking last December. Sure enough, when we asked (Whilst on site) to see if Thursday was available due to any cancellations, the staff kindly offered to ring us if one occurred. Sure enough, within an hour, a cancellation came in. Then we asked the same about Friday evening. Yes, you guessed it. The same occurred and somebody else cancelled, so we stayed till Saturday. Whilst this was all very good for our stay, it merely illustrates the clubs admin problem. Start taking deposits, or it will always continue.

Location Location Location

Set right in the heart of Bristol floating harbour with access to all Bristol's attractions without having to use the car.Much has been said before about the Club losing this site so it will be a massive loss to the Club and local pubs, restaurants etc. Walks to Clifton village ( hilly on way up) suspension bridge, banksy, cathedral,M shed, and Broadmead shopping centre for the wife. At least I have managed a visit because it is nearly always fully booked.

Popular site - no wonder!

Great position by the river with easy walk into Bristol past SS Great Britain. Pub almost outside the back gate and a cafe within 5 minute walk. River taxi on one side and bus stop on the other.Friendly and efficient wardens. Prime location so no doubt under pressure from developers - can't let that happen. Only downside was the amount of roadworks in Bristol but, hey, they can't last forever!

Fantastic location, very clean, great staff!

We have been trying to stay at this site for a long time and eventually managed to book. We can now understand why it is normally fully booked as the location is fantastic with a pub, The Cottage, a water taxi, a bus stop and a convenience store all just outside the site. There is so much to see and do in Bristol and the water taxi was very reasonably priced £5.00 per adult for all day travel with numerous stops around the city (don't forget your club membership card for 10% discount!). The site itself was immaculately clean with generous sized pitches and very friendly staff. If you want to put up an awning make sure you have some rock pegs as it is all hard standing. Can't wait to book again

Fantastic

What a fantastic site. Location is great for motorhomes no need to get a bus. Right on the river and a lovely walk into town. Life couldn't get better ,pub right on the river. Carnt believe there trying to close this site, you don't get much chance in motorhome to be right in the centre of everything. Do the council not realise how much caravan and motorhome us bring in to local economy. Let's hope they don't get there way !!!!! Hopefully will be back in Bristol very soon .
