Needs updating 2

The entrance was almost missed due to the ineffective new signage(I was not the only person to have missed the turning!) along with the roadway not being the best! The welcome by by the wardens was warm and helpful. The toilet block is tired, with the block suffering a power failure whilst we were there, the tumble drier was broken so early in the season! The wardens are doing a great job despite the facilities!

Little gem

What a little gem, fantastic little site. As we approached you would never believe this beautiful site was there, the only downside was we only stayed 1 night, but we are most definitely going to go back, it was a stop off on our way to the Bunree in the highlands. Tesco extra only 1 mile away, we didn't go into Ayr but I believe its only a short walk away. Very friendly hosts. We as a family couldn't ask for anything more.

4 Night Stay

This was our first visit to the site, we were greeted with nice friendly wardens who provided us with all the information we needed for the site. It's a nice quiet site with nice clean, warm toilet and shower blocks. It's a great location for Ayr town centre and train station. Also only a 20 minute walk along the river to the beach which was a nice walk with the dogs. Small play park for small children but nothing for any children over the age of 5. All in all a nice stay.

Needs updating

We have visited this site many times over the past 17 years or so and we would have thought that some of the facilities might have been updated by now. It is a good site but could be much better. 1. TV reception is unreliable so surely by now a booster system could have been installed? 2. Access to the site is OK if nothing else is coming in or out at the same time. We had arranged to meet our son around lunch time and set off in our car to find that there was a queue of caravans and camper vans trying to get in. Neither the gateway nor the approach road are wide enough to allow cars to pass let alone cars and caravans/campervans. 3. The road surface at the entrance was poor a few years ago it is now mostly one large pot hole. I can't think it would cost a fortune to improve these problems considering how little has been spent on the site over the years. 4. As a very senior member, I find that sites with fully serviced pitches are most helpful yet there are none at Craigie Gardens. As our son lives in Ayr we will continue to use this site, which is very good. It's just a pity it isn't excellent.

Good value for an early Spring outing!

Excellent value for money from the Club's closest site to my home. Very useful to test out my outfit for wider journey's for later in the year. The site itself was to the usual high standard of club site and very centrally located to Ayr town centre. The walk along the river bank is worth the effort, especially through the local, 17th century cemetery, with all its period flagstones.

First time in Scotland

This was the first time we have been to Scotland the site was perfectly located for the town centre of Ayr. Brilliant bus service from Ayr town center to Glasgow for day out shopping in Ayr good short walk from site into town centre and sea front unfortunately the weather was cold and very windy so not able to sit around much . The site was very quiet and well maintained we stayed a week and found plenty to do staff were very helpfull will be back. Kev Pauline Reel

A wee gem!

What a lovely site....quiet location, spotless, really well kept and of course super-friendly staff. Great walks/rides into the country or to bustling Ayr in minutes...brilliant! We'll be back very soon.

Autumn in the Ayr

The site was perfect with beautiful autumnal colours from the trees. Lovely walks along the river and through the town to the beach. The facilities were very clean, and well maintained. Wardens very helpful. |would recommend this site highly.
