Excellent

What an amazing little site, very clean and tidy the toilets and showers are immaculate and the owners are very friendly and helpful. The site is very relaxing and quiet. Just 5mins walk from the site there is a beautiful little village with 3 pubs, village stores, cafe, bakery, butchers and play park. The site is in a perfect location for travelling to Cambridge. I would definitely be visiting this site again.

Small but perfect

This is the second time we have stayed at Ashridge Farm. We tend to use it as a short stopover on longer journeys. The facilities are clean and the wardens are welcoming and helpful. The dog walk across the fields is excellent as is the one through the village, which has a small convenience store and bakery as well as local pubs. Take a look at the Ashwell natural spring - there are stepping stones across it but the water isn't deep. Having said that, we had to carry 2 dogs across! We will certainly stay here again.

Lovely Site

Lovely little site, facilities were always lovely and clean as well as being lovely and warm. Shame about the dog walkers who don't bother to clean up after them in the lane outside!!

splendid site

Nice Easter break, would use again but would choose grass as hard standing completely bent my hardened steel pegs so i only half pegged my awning down.

Lovely Quiet Site...Except for Us!

This was a lovely little site whose tranquility was only ruined by our goodselves. I apologise to anyone who is reading this who stayed on the Easter weekend 2017 and was disturbed by our car alarm going off - two days running. While we were out in the afternoon without the car on the Saturday and on return were informed by our friendly neighbours that it had been going off. This doesn't normally happen so we assumed it was just a one-off and perhaps we hadn't locked the car which had somehow set the alarm off. However, when the car wouldn't start when we came to leave on the Monday and had to borrow some jump leads from the friendly wardens we were told that it had also gone off on the Sunday while we were out for the afternoon on a long walk- which was probably why we had a flat battery! The wardens had emailed us requesting us to return to the site but my mobile doesn't receive emails so we were quite oblivious. Apparently it lasted about an hour each time. When we returned home we discovered it was an electrical problem. It was just rather unfortunate that each time it happened we weren't there to sort it out. The wardens were most understanding and so were other campers who must have been dying to throttle us on our return by which time it'd stopped. The campsite is maintained to a high standard and provides easy access to the village of Ashwell - a charming and very affluent looking village. Nearby public footpaths made walks without the use of a car very convenient (if not to our neighbours). For us it was also the opportunity to test out our new awning without having to stray far from home. Our visitors on the Sunday commented on how smart it was - they were most impressed. Would definitely recommend! Thank you wardens and fellow campers for not berating us and apologies again!

Brief but pleasant stay

We visited for two nights whilst travelling between friends on a "Grand Tour" this month. Really nice reception; a quiet site with access to green lanes so the dogs could be walked off lead. Site was very clean and well looked after. Situated in a village with good amenities. Gets our vote for a repeat.

Relaxed weekend

We stayed for four nights earlier this month and had a really nice time. The wardens were very pleasant and helpful, the site is very well kept and clean as expected. Nice walk nearby into open fields or turn right and walk into lovely Ashwell in about 10 minutes where there are nice pubs and a few shops. We will be returning.

Another stay at Ashridge

A site we regularly book in spring, excellent location 10 minutes walk into the village, dog walking in open fields direct from the site or plenty of quiet roads for a cycle. Good dog friendly pubs in the village, small range fo shops and of course Crumps butchers with fresh meat that is worth the trip alone. Not a site for kids holidays being in the middle of the countryside, Duxford air museum is close by of course and worth visiting but apart from that this is a small, peaceful spot. The new wardens were very open and welcoming, keen to stop and chat and enjoy yet another cuddle with our fluffy puppy. A plea to the CC, please put in a late night arrival area.
