A lovely quiet, peaceful, clean and tidy site.
Terry and Sue, the site Wardens were very friendly and helpful.
Enjoyed the short walk to the village of Ashwell where there is a coffee shop, bakery, hotel and pubs.
Will definitely return.
Must start with our thanks to the very helpful and friendly wardens who mad it possible for us to stay even if it was for just one night. Due to events like a delayed ferry traffic problems etc we arrived a bit late but all was fine thanks to them. We had to curtail our French trip due to a family member being rushed to hospital aged 98 making it imperative that we got home as quick as we could.
We have used Ashridge Farm a couple of times as it splits our homeward journey nicely in two and it is a pleasant little site always well maintained and the eggs for sale down the entrance lane are well worth looking out for. Look forward to using this site again sometime soon.
What an amazing little site, very clean and tidy the toilets and showers are immaculate and the owners are very friendly and helpful. The site is very relaxing and quiet. Just 5mins walk from the site there is a beautiful little village with 3 pubs, village stores, cafe, bakery, butchers and play park. The site is in a perfect location for travelling to Cambridge. I would definitely be visiting this site again.
This is the second time we have stayed at Ashridge Farm. We tend to use it as a short stopover on longer journeys. The facilities are clean and the wardens are welcoming and helpful. The dog walk across the fields is excellent as is the one through the village, which has a small convenience store and bakery as well as local pubs. Take a look at the Ashwell natural spring - there are stepping stones across it but the water isn't deep. Having said that, we had to carry 2 dogs across! We will certainly stay here again.
Lovely little site, facilities were always lovely and clean as well as being lovely and warm. Shame about the dog walkers who don't bother to clean up after them in the lane outside!!
Nice Easter break, would use again but would choose grass as hard standing completely bent my hardened steel pegs so i only half pegged my awning down.
This was a lovely little site whose tranquility was only ruined by our goodselves. I apologise to anyone who is reading this who stayed on the Easter weekend 2017 and was disturbed by our car alarm going off - two days running. While we were out in the afternoon without the car on the Saturday and on return were informed by our friendly neighbours that it had been going off. This doesn't normally happen so we assumed it was just a one-off and perhaps we hadn't locked the car which had somehow set the alarm off. However, when the car wouldn't start when we came to leave on the Monday and had to borrow some jump leads from the friendly wardens we were told that it had also gone off on the Sunday while we were out for the afternoon on a long walk- which was probably why we had a flat battery! The wardens had emailed us requesting us to return to the site but my mobile doesn't receive emails so we were quite oblivious. Apparently it lasted about an hour each time. When we returned home we discovered it was an electrical problem. It was just rather unfortunate that each time it happened we weren't there to sort it out. The wardens were most understanding and so were other campers who must have been dying to throttle us on our return by which time it'd stopped.
The campsite is maintained to a high standard and provides easy access to the village of Ashwell - a charming and very affluent looking village. Nearby public footpaths made walks without the use of a car very convenient (if not to our neighbours). For us it was also the opportunity to test out our new awning without having to stray far from home. Our visitors on the Sunday commented on how smart it was - they were most impressed. Would definitely recommend!
Thank you wardens and fellow campers for not berating us and apologies again!
