The dogs were in heaven!

A very nice location with fabulous dog walks in woods with concrete paths, (I think these were part of some sort of army camp?).

The loos/showers are not the newest but are kept extremely clean.

A great variety of pitches, we chose an all grass one and stayed for four nights, despite the fact that it rained every night the ground was still firm enough for our 2wd car to pull the caravan off with no drama.

A good adventure playgroundy type thing which our 14 year old lad enjoyed.

Sometimes the planes heading to/from Gatwick were noticeable but never obtrusive. Considering the proximity to two huge motorways the traffic noise is amazing low, probably even better when the trees are in leaf.

A lovely area, Hever Castle well worth a visit, Thomas was well impressed with the 'water maze' there! Also Brighton an easy drive away.

On the one wetish day we had we went to Bluewater, shopping centre less than 30 miles and another easy drive away.

All in all a great location and with London so very close, a week there would not have been long enough to fit everything in!

Very nice site

We stayed at this site for 4 nights last week. The staff is very friendly and the pitches are really nice. We used the site as a basecamp to visit London and Brighton. Because of the closeness to the train station and the smooth running of the taxis, the campsite is excellent suited for exploring London. The only thing that disappointed us a little were the facilities to wash dishes and the showers , which were a lot better at the Longleat campsite where we stayed before.

Wonderful stay

Stayed here over the Easter weekend, the site was full and the wardens requested that we take a hard standing pitch as we had a motorhome and they had been getting stuck on the grass, so they were putting the lighter caravans on them. Although we prefer grass pitches we understood the reasons and were happy to oblige. The site was very busy but the wardens, with the help of their assistants kept the site lovely and clean. The children seemed to be enjoying themselves especially at the Easter egg hunt organised by the wardens. They were spotted at 7am hiding the eggs for the children, a really nice touch, well done. The site itself is great for days out to chessington and godstone farm, and access to redhill where you can get a train straight into London. We have used this site quite a few times now and it never disappoints.

more info needed

I looked into the site info very carefully. This is our first time at a site like this. The site staff were very friendly and helpful. To get to London it is very easy. Go to reception and they have a dedicated phone line to a taxi company. It is £6. There depot is at the station so all you have to do is get out of the taxi, book your ticked and off you go. Kids under 16 £6 and Adults £12 good value for money and there are 3 trains per hour straight into London bridge. THE ONLY DOWNSIDE OF THE SITE FOR ME. I COULD NOT WALK TO THE NEAREST VILLAGE AS THERE WAS NO PATH BOTH ROADS TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT . YOU HAVE TO DRIVE EVERYWHERE. If you come out of the caravan site and turn to the left the road leads to a starbucks. It would have been nice to have a gentle stroll there and back with my daughter for mother and daughter time, but to no avail. I needed my husband to drop me off and collect us again so did not bother going. SHAME

Excellent site

New to the caravan club and so far very impressed. Alderstead Heath was in lovely surroundings, good pitches and facilities. Everywhere was so clean and well kept. Good dog walking area. Shower and toilet blocks were spotless. We look forward to all our future holidays with the caravan club.

Won't be going back!

Got to take a long detour to get to this site. Got a bit lost and rang up for instructions and was told to ring back when I was a bit nearer?  Anyway managed to find it after driving round for ages. When we booked in they showed us where to pitch and wasn't to bothered but it soon became clear we were put on the wettest part of the site on the muddy grass. The following morning some people had left and I went to ask if I could move 50yds on to a hardstand but was told no we need those for motorhomes! Fair enough I thought until later we saw caravans  coming in and using the hardstands. Plus the pot holes in the roads really do need attention. was very disappointed and won't be returning!!

You wouldn't believe that you are on the edge of London

This was our first visit to a Caravan Club site. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the site clean and tidy. We were positioned very near to a toilet block which was also clean and well maintained The main downside is that a 5 mile round trip is needed to access the site from the M25 due to the most direct route being unsuitable for caravans. However, the instructions provided in the book are clear and accurate

A good, clean all round site

We enjoyed our stay at the Alderstead Heath site, the warden was friendly and welcoming even though we were quite late in the evening (just before closing) all the facilities were tidy and the wardens kept them clean even though the site was full. We used the site to access the England Scotland rugby game at Twickenham....easy journey from Coulsdon station, change at East Croydon and Clapham Junction, otherwise straight there. On the Sunday we tried to go to Chartwell, but that was signed as closed although the National Trust book says it should be open, so we carried on to Hever Castle which was very interesting and well worth a visit. The only downside to the site is the access, you do need to read the directions in the site book as the other lane is very narrow. From the M25 you almost seem to go around mother Browns kitchen before you arrive, although a camper van or short unit might reduce the distance if the road isn't busy by doing a U turn as you travel up the Croydon Road, but care would be needed as that road is often very busy.

No Traffic

Having been to a few sites in the last year and everyone moans about Aircraft and the M25 and the roar that you cannot sleep, then come here, open spaces to walk , footpaths well used But write to Surrey County council about the Potholes with pictures and not on the review as this is their problem. I will return in the Summer for a hike for a Pint
